Overall Experience

I have been very happy with the care provided to my mother at Eastlake. My mother has posed some challenges to the staff, but has been treated compassionately and calmly, and is now much more settled. The care home has also been able to put in measures to ensure her safety and to accommodate to the deterioration in her physical health, and have always kept me updated about her. She was even allowed to take her little dog in with her, though sadly the barking disturbed other residents and she has now come to live with me. However, her dog did get very attached to some of the staff there, so I know that she was well treated by them. Other residents have been able to keep their (quieter) dogs with them.

We have every confidence in the professional care and good nature of the team at Eastlake especially during the taxing times this year.
All involved are applauded for the cheerful way in which we find our resident mum and visitors have been received.

A very big thank you Eastlake.

Eastlake provides a well-managed caring environment for the vulnerable elderly. We live in bewildering times for us all. The wonderful, welcoming and friendly atmosphere is much appreciated. Good to know staff training is on-going. Great that Anchor is a not-for-profit organisation. Another plus is the practical, purpose-built layout.

My mother has been at Eastlake for just over a year and is very happy there. The staff are wonderful, caring and activities keep everyone motivated and entertained. The care during the pandemic has been well thought through and wonderful. This has resulted in there currently being no positive cases. I do not hesitate in recommending Eastlake.

During these difficult times, my mum seems happy and settled despite her dementia issues.
It has been so lovely to have our 30-minute visits in the lovely garden at Eastlake. Eastlake have handled this situation very well and I feel it works well and is safe.
I long to give my mum a hug but understand I can't but it's reassuring to see she looks healthy, clean and tidy after so many months of not seeing her.

Many thanks to all the staff at Eastlake from our family.

Lovely to visit Mum today in the garden. The staff have been amazing, helping us to keep in contact via video calls during lockdown. Mum moved into Eastlake six months ago and she is very happy and content thanks to the lovely staff, who are very caring and attentive. As a family, we are content that Mum is safe and cared for, which is all we could ask for.

Eastlake has been home to mum for more than two years, with her numerous conditions and requiring many hospitals stays It was vital for me to know that she was in safe, caring hands.
We could not have asked for more; the team are kind, compassionate and giving.
Then COVID hit, and I could no longer visit, the team excelled further. Not only did the management team keep me updated regularly. The carers continue to put mum's interests and health above their own.
My friends have found innovative ways of keeping me connected to mum, and when she was poorly, they updated me daily.
All the team have been our lifeline and become my extended family. I feel confident that whatever the situation, everyone will do their utmost to care for mum.

I cannot praise the Eastlake team enough for their support. You are all fantastic.

I was warmly welcomed for my first visit and taken personally to see my friend. Several staff offered me tea or coffee. At the end of my visit I met the manager. I was impressed by her, the care and quality of staff I met and the cleanliness and warmth of the home.

The resident has been in the care home for nearly two years. She was 98 at the end of August. She has been troubled with stomach pains for some time and the hospital thinks there is a bowel blockage. She is now undergoing end of life care and is being lovingly monitored by the staff of the care home. We could not ask for more.

My mother is very settled and content here. I am fortunate that I live nearby so can add additional support as I see her regularly. I am very satisfied with the care she receives. The staff and team leaders are very kind and patient. They are also very professional and keep me informed about mum's welfare such as doctor's visits when necessary.

Review from Paul S (Grandson of Resident) published on 11 February 2019 Submitted via Website

I have been very impressed with all the staff at Eastlake, including management, admin and carer staff. From making the initial arrangements, settling my grandma in and caring for and looking after her over the last year. She has been very comfortable and happy at Eastlake, and it has been good to know that she is safe and being well looked after.
I have appreciated how easy it has been to communicate with everyone that works at Eastlake, with calls when needed, advice and help, and putting anything in place that my grandma needed.

The staff were always caring towards my grandma. She enjoyed the food and the variety of activities that were available. The decor is light and welcoming and there is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in the home.
