Eastlake in Godalming is situated close to the South Downs National Park. The home continues to welcome new residents and provides residential and dementia care for up to 52 residents in homely and comfortable single ensuite rooms.

Eastlake is operated by Anchor, they are England's largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for people over the age of 55 years with more than 60 years of experience in the sector.

They work with customers and their loved ones to create detailed care plans, ensuring individual health and care needs are continually met. Priding themselves on their dementia care, staff are provided with on-going training so that their approach always reflects best practice, working hard to get to know customers and build relationships.

This is a superb home, providing a package of care which is unsurpassed. The staff are professional, caring and attentive to the residents' needs. The atmosphere is positive and supportive and with a very apparent awareness of individuals' needs. I have eaten there and the range and quality of food
is outstanding. The home offers entertainment and daily activities to stimulate the residents' attention and to allow them to engage in rewarding recreational activities.

Eastlake provides an extremely professional, friendly and caring environment. The staff are all very welcoming to family and friends and they are loyal and dedicated to their residents. I particularly like the way they try to keep residents occupied and motivated with the various activities they plan.

I am very happy with the care that my relative receives. The carers are extremely dedicated and go the extra mile. The food is great; my relative has said that it's the best food she has ever had! The home is very well maintained and lots of activities are held every week.

Eastlake has saved my mum. My mum would have died if she never came here. I now have my mum back after losing her for four years with her mind. The care and staff at Eastlake are so good my mum now takes part in things and laughs and we can now speak with her. I now feel very happy and don't have to
worry so much about my mum. Thanks again to Eastlake.

On my recent visit, I was delighted to see my mum completely absorbed in the knit and natter session which is run on Wednesday run by one of the dedicated wonderful carers. Activities such as this have made a significant difference to mum's well-being since she arrived. She looked just like her old
self and is now thriving at the care home.


I subsequently found out that the Activities Coordinator Role doesn't exist which is very disappointing. The carers have enough to do and please recruit a new one as this makes a monument different to the clients.

My father was admitted two weeks ago following a short stay in hospital. The staff and management have provided excellent support to him and to the family and go out of their way to make us feel welcome. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and very welcoming.

Eastlake has been very friendly, welcoming and supportive. It's always clean and uncluttered and I really like that it has resident cats and a visiting dog. I feel reassured that my mum is safe, warm and well looked after.

Such a warm and friendly care home. All the staff are lovely and so attentive to detail. Quite often, a care home dealing with dementia guests, quite rightly, focuses on the residents. From my experience, all the staff were also very understanding of what we, as the family are going through. This gives
me complete confidence that my Mum will be loved and cared for to the highest possible level.

My friend had been in Eastlake for nearly 2 years with dementia. She had other major health issues. The staff were amazing and always kind to both her and me. They always took care to keep the residents engaged and interested with daily activities. She was taken into hospital on 7th May after suffering
breathing difficulties (not covid) an underlying problem with her heart. The staff phoned hospital regularly to see how she was and kept in touch with me. Sadly she passed away on 21st May and the aftercare has been exemplary. Couldn't praise the manager and all her staff enough.

Eastlake is a lovely warm environment for those staying and visiting. We have found the staff to be friendly, helpful, and caring. The gardens are amazing. Well kept and with plenty of space to sit and relax or to have a walk around. Mum is happy and enjoying life at Eastlake. She especially enjoys

Although very reluctant to move into a Care Home my mother has adapted very well, at least partly due to the comfortable atmosphere and the cheerful and kindly staff. I too found the administration staff most kind and helpful and it made the transition very easy. I feel that I can rely on the staff

Eastlake has always looked after my mother with great care - she gets very anxious and the recent Covid outbreak increased this. However, the response from everyone at Eastlake was to care for her gently and to find a way to help her get back to enjoying her time there. We thank them all.

The staff have managed very well during these last two, difficult years.
My only problem is when the resident has an infection there is no feedback when it has cleared. Never put in place the resident's dietary needs. During the last ten years, I feel that the manager has had no input or given support.
Not sure about activities since activities staff are no longer there. How can carers have time for activities and duties?

I visit my mother as an essential caregiver 3 times a week, therefore I am in the home for between 4 to 5 hours each visit, this has given me the opportunity to provide a balanced view on standards. Overall, I have found standards to be very good, if I have had concerns regarding Mum's welfare they
have been taken on board and addressed. Communication with management is very good, they have understood the difficulties both Mum and I have faced and been sympathetic and helpful. The staff as a whole are lovely and I can see they care very much about all the residents.

Until very recently, my 94-year-old mother was a resident at Eastlake. Sadly, she passed away whilst in their care. I cannot praise the carers at Eastlake highly enough. Their compassion, their willingness to always help Mum with her trivial demands and their smiling attention to her, round the clock,
was nothing short of heroic. I want to especially mention two people who made her time at Eastlake as comfortable as possible. Firstly, one gentleman, of whom she was extremely fond and who looked after her and her little garden outside her room with such care. And secondly, one lady, who was such a good friend to me and my sister-in-law who visited regularly. Nothing was too much trouble. We were always greeted with a smile and a coffee, and we will miss her friendship. If you are looking for the best possible care home for your loved one, then you need to look no further. Thank you, Eastlake, for everything.
