I am very happy in Linden House. The staff take me for lunch every Thursday in Epsom to a restaurant in Epsom. they look after me well and look after my finances.
I enjoy the meals here.

My mother has gone into the home this week. The management has been excellent and has done everything possible to make things as easy as possible. My mum's room is very comfortable and she tells me that she is being well looked after and that the food is very nice. So our first impressions are very
good. We hope in the coming weeks that she will be able to join in with activities etc.

My husband was hospitalised following a fall at home. He then entered this care home and has been here for about two months. He is very well looked after. The staff are friendly and kind, I visit regularly with a small dog! And I am always made to feel welcome.

My second review five months down the line that mum has been here.
I cannot complain at all from the management to staff. It's the perfect place for mum, she has settled in so well. I am so happy and can only sing the praises of Linden House. Many homes could learn a thing or two from here. The place
is wonderful it speaks volumes about great care.

It is a delight to visit the home where there is a happy relaxed atmosphere between the management and staff who are dedicated to the care of its residents. The management noticeably works very hard to maintain the high standards required to run the home. They are very understanding of staff, residents
and family needs and nothing is too much trouble. Linden House must be one of the best or one of the best of its size in Surrey.

The standard as a whole has improved over the past 6 months. More safety measures put in place (eg. higher stairgate), more comfortable pressure mattress. The staff change quite a bit so I feel they all need to know my mother's needs. As my mother is doubly incontinent, I worry that she isn't taken
to the toilet or check enough as she is prone to UTI's. She also eats with her hands, so I worry she doesn't get her hands washed before she eats. Also, finger nails tend to get long; again, they should be regularly cut and filed for hygiene and safety.

I was a temporary resident for a month. I found everywhere clean and tidy.
The staff were wonderful, forever making sure everybody was comfortable and wanting for nothing.
Personal requests were seen to immediately. Everybody was kept clean and tidy.
The accommodation was very good and you were able
to join in activities if you wished.
You were not made to do anything if you didn't want to. You could always get a drink or snack if wanted.
I wouldn't have minded how long I was there and if I ever have to pick a care home this would be my first choice.

My friend initially went into Linden House for respite to give husband a break. She's totally blind, had a history of mental health. She became a permanent resident for last 18 months-2 years. Her health generally has gradually deteriorated- dementia. Family asked for her to be moved to local dementia
home/nursing care. Linden House argued not in her best interests, happy to keep her, nurse her. Request finally granted. My friend's last year or so was comfortable in bed all the time, well looked after.

My grandmother was in the care of the team at Linden House for 2 years until she passed away there. The staff were so kind and caring right up to the end. I live in Bristol so it was hard for me to go and visit often. But the staff kept me informed of my grandmother's condition and were so kind at the
end keeping me up to date with daily calls about how she was doing. When my grandmother did sadly pass away, the manager told me that my grandmothers key worker had been with her when she died which was a huge comfort to me. I would recommend this nursing home to any of those looking for a great support team, fun and engaging activities for the residents and a caring staff from the men and women who work with the residents daily right up to the manager.

My mother was a resident at Linden House up until the 6th May when she sadly passed away. The care and support that Linden House provided my mum along with me and my family was 1st class. The end of life care was excellent, and I couldn't have wished a better way for mum to have lived her final days.
Mum was at Linden House for 18 months, and whilst the home was very good at the time of her becoming a resident, it has shown significant improvements over time.
I can't praise the whole team at Linden house enough, and will sadly miss them all, as they become an extended family to both myself and my brother.

My mother was a resident for 18 months at Linden House after having two falls. After a week of being there for respite, my mother's wishes were to remain at Linden House as the care and attention she was receiving was excellent. All the staff at every level are very friendly and caring and would always
spend time talking to you and giving updates about Mum. When I got married last year they went to exception lengths to prepare mum both mentally and physically so she could attend which she did.
Unfortunately last week mum passed away. I cannot describe in words alone how good the staff were. They even changed their shifts so that staff who knew Mum the best could be there with her until the end. I have sadly lost a mum but at the same time, I feel I have lost an extended family in relation to the staff who exceeded in their care far more than would ever be expected. I send my sincere gratitude to them all for how they dealt with everything which made our loss easier to deal with.

I had a last minute crisis and needed to home my 97-year-old mother for a week. I was recommended to contact Linden House by my local/regular pharmacist. It was the best recommendation I could have wished for.

My panic was instantly resolved, the management could not have been more helpful, understanding

and friendly. My mother does not normally enjoy respite and actually said she would not mind returning. I was amazed to say the least. The staff, food, everything was perfect! Thank you.

It is difficult for me to mark some of the boxes below because my wife goes in for respite and as a consequence I do not visit. To my mind that defeats the object. This is the second time she has been to Linden House and obviously I would not have repeated this exercise if I was unhappy. She has been
in another home that was, to my mind not satisfactory. All my dealings with all of the staff have been excellent. Everybody is extremely friendly and caring. They show respect, friendliness, courtesy and kindness to my wife. They make her feel loved and cared for. She showed no hesitation on entering for a second visit.

We wanted a one week respite care place for my 96 year old father who is very frail and has dementia. This was so that Mum (90 years old) could attend a family wedding in Norfolk and enjoy a well deserved rest from her 24 hr caring role to Dad. The Manager and Operations Manager were superb. The Operations
manager visited Mum and Dad in their home and carried out a thorough assessment of Dad's needs. Working with the family she devised a Care Plan which mirrored Dad's existing routine at home. The transition into the home was emotional but the Operations Manager and her staff listened, supported and reassured us. We knew that he was in very safe hands. Dad ate, slept and relaxed into the Linden House routine. He enjoyed the food and the banter with the staff. We brought him home safely and he is now enjoying home comforts again. Respite care is a great way of easing the burden of care on loved ones. It enabled Mum to recharge her batteries and to experience her Grandson's special wedding day. A big thank you to Linden House and all the staff but particularly the Operations Manager, for taking care of our precious Dad so well.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.179)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.179) out of 10 for Linden House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.898 for Linden House is calculated as follows: ( (53 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 59 Ratings = 4.898
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.281 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Linden House is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.4 = 0.781
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
