Priors Mead is committed to quality rather than quantity, remaining small enough for residents, their families and the team to really get to know each other.

The owners of Priors Mead considered what they would want from a care home, rather than following other homes, and the results of these innovations are what sets them apart. The home offers long-serving, skilled staff, en-suite toilets and baths that you would be delighted...

Overall Experience

Mum has been at Priors Mead since January this year and she and the whole family are absolutely delighted by the care and attention she has been getting ever since. Mum can be quite challenging at times and every member of the Priors Mead staff takes this in their stride. She was previously in a much larger, more expensive place which had all new hotel-style facilities but she disliked this because of its sheer size. Once she moved to Priors Mead she was considerably happier. In addition, the family noticed that her tendency to have urinary tract infections reduced dramatically. These infections affected her cognitive abilities subtly or if allowed to develop, quite seriously. The fab people at Priors Mead normally head off any such a problem long before it gets serious because, as a smaller residence, they all know Mum well now and notice small changes in her mood and behaviour. Finally, I cannot fault the staff's dedication to keeping everyone safe during the pandemic - I thank them so much.

My husband originally went for respite care at Priors Mead but, unfortunately, this had to become permanent residency.
He suffers from Alzheimer's. Having been a resident for what must have been the worst possible year, due to Covid, the experience has been far less traumatic due to the care and sympathy from the staff at the home.
Their caring is certainly not confined to the residents. I have always felt that they really care about me as well.
Before lockdown, there was always plenty of stimulation for the residents, and during the lockdown, I know every effort was made to keep the residents happy.

I have always been confident in their ability to care for my husband, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others.

My mother has now been resident at Priors Mead for a year and it is the best decision that we could have made
My sister and I visited the vast majority of similar providers and were very confident that we were making the right decision in choosing Priors Mead for Mum.
I am delighted to say that everything about Priors Mead has been absolutely first class.

The staff and facilities are outstanding, and we are in no doubt that Mum is receiving the best and most empathetic care she could wish for, and she is very happy and comfortable and very, very fond of the amazing staff.

Mum moved into Priors Mead at the end of June 2020... not the easiest time with Covid restrictions. She has been very happy there... she talks positively of all the staff and their kindness, and the staff clearly know her and her quirks, and they are very good at communicating with us, and supporting her (she now needs help to make phone calls etc). She has also enjoyed several of the activities, and I think being there has helped in what could have been a very lonely time.
We have been able to visit, as have her friends, under a gazebo in the garden... the best that has been possible given Covid. The staff also produce a weekly newsletter with all sorts of info, including Covid issues - that helps us to know they are being very careful in taking precautions to keep everyone safe

The communal rooms and the garden are lovely too, and when well enough, she enjoys walking around the garden and looking in the fish pond! I can’t recommend Priors Mead enough!

This home is kept in excellent order both as to cleanliness and upkeep as well as having a very homely and cosy atmosphere. It is carpeted throughout and soft furnishings are replaced regularly. It is tastefully decorated but above all, the residents are happy and well cared for by excellent staff, many of whom have remained there for some years. The food is excellent too and activities and outings are frequent with many visitors demonstrating their talents. Highly recommended.

My mother has been a resident at Priors Mead for two years and has dementia. When she moved in, she was still physically very active, but having been widowed was no longer able to manage the organisation of her own home. We chose Priors Mead for its homely, non-institutional atmosphere and for the staff's individualised approach to care. They recognised Mum's need to be busy and to feel useful and involved her in domestic tasks, like unpacking the weekly shopping and helping lay the table. As Mum's condition has declined, staff have shown nothing but kindness, concern and flexibility in working out ways to preserve her independence and dignity and manage her anxieties. They have involved the family in all decisions and are always willing to talk through concerns. All staff are skilled, committed and compassionate and work together as a close-knit and efficient team. Staff turnover appears to be very low and this helps create good relationships and sound knowledge of the residents' needs.

My Grandmother has been at Priors Mead now for almost two years and she has settled there really well. The staff are extremely friendly and caring. If there have been medical issues with Granny, they contact us immediately and have been in regular contact with us if Granny has had to be taken to hospital. Granny always looks forward to returning back home to her room at Priors Mead. My Grandmother has made lovely friends at Priors Mead and loves to spend time sitting in the gorgeous gardens which are well-tended. The family are really happy with Priors Mead and the range of activities that they provide to keep our lovely granny well stimulated. Granny is always complimenting the food too.

Priors Mead residential care home, Reigate really made our mother welcome from day one. From the management and including all the staff there was real warmth and care. This allowed for my sister and I to relax knowing she was being well cared for.
The quality decor throughout the premises is excellent, the food superb, fresh and varied.
There are regular activities going on in the home plus organised trips out ranging from the ballet to a visit to the seaside.
Our mother took part in every trip and loved every trip.
The house is small enough for the guests to know each other but large enough for them to have space for themselves without having to go to their own bedrooms.

I have no problem in recommending Priors Mead to anyone.

Overall Experience

My mother has been resident at Priors Mead for over 3 years and over this length of time, I can only express my appreciation for the genuinely high quality of care and attention to each individual resident to make them feel it is like home to home from the day they arrive. With great thought given to the many entertainments provided for them, to stimulate mentally and physically, each individual needs. Life hasn't stopped, because they are in a home, on the contrary, life is fun again. Priors Mead smells nice when you go in, full of flowers and fresh air but well heated, cleanliness is excellent. Decoration regularly changed and refreshed. All staff are kind, caring and smiling, and right on the ball if there is an emergency. Great care is taken to vary meals and make them interesting and always celebrating occasions.

My mother has been a resident for just under one year. Sadly she passed away this month at Priors Mead after a short illness of cancer. The care she received was exceptional and as a family, we had an amazing experience. Priors Mead was "home" to our mum and to us in her final days. Nothing was too much trouble. Mum was so at home and the Priors Mead family will be missed. This home is amazing and the staff are professional, caring and respectful. My mother was very lucky to have stayed there.

Choosing a home for mum was made so much easier because of the helpful staff. Mum has settled into life in a care home. Yes, she has had bad days but she has always been treated with such care and attention. Priors Mead is so lovely, staff are wonderful. The home is beautifully furnished and decorated. Always activities, in fact, mum is always doing things or being taken out. One of the nice things is that it is small so everyone knows each other and the residents feel as though they are in a guest house.

The staff at Priors Mead are truly caring. They provided support and care for my mother in law at a time when our family were stressed and were finding it difficult to come to terms with the care that she needed. My mother-in-law settled into Priors Mead quickly and the communication we received from the home on her health and wellbeing was good. At the end of her life, they accompanied us to the hospital and helped us interact with the medical profession to make sure we had all the equipment we needed to bring mum home to Priors Mead for her last final days. Nothing was too much trouble and we are very thankful for the love and support they showed us.

A small very friendly, well managed, care home, with carers who genuinely love their job.
Staff are easy to approach with any concerns and nothing is too much trouble.
My mum was there for about 15 months before she sadly passed away.
She was always smiling when I visited and always spoke highly of the staff and the care she received.
Knowing that mum was cared for, loved and treated like one of the family in her last few months, is a great comfort.

If choosing a card home, I would strongly advise viewing this care home. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

My father has been at Priors Mead for around 3 years. He seems very settled and happy with the overall care. I find the staff and management very helpful and understanding particularly as we have to travel some distance to visit. My family are comfortable with all that Priors Mead do and we can rely on them totally. We know that if we have concerns we can speak to them and likewise, they will also contact us if they feel necessary.
