I needed somewhere to take two weeks convalescence following surgery. From my first visit to see round the home, I was very quickly confident that this would be the right place: the calm atmosphere, restful decor, comfortable furnishings and cleanliness, plus the feeling of welcome from management and
staff. After admission, everything lived up to and often exceeded my hopes. Staff and volunteers put a lot of work into keeping the residents safe, comfortable, healthy and engaged with activities and entertainments. The grounds and gardens are beautifully-maintained and offer a good space for gentle exercise and walks after meals etc. At the end of my fortnight, I was genuinely sorry to leave. If I need further convalescence in the future, or even a permanent residency in a care home when I can no longer cope on my own, Signature at Banstead will be my first choice. Worth saying too, that all my visitors while I was there were impressed and commented favourably on the home.

A warm and welcoming home where my Mum has been cared for extremely well in recent years. Many staff members have gone over and above, particularly during challenging Covid times. An extensive programme of activities caters for all interests and there is a beautiful garden for residents, family members
and staff to enjoy

My Mother has been with Signature in Banstead since February 2023 and has settled in very well. All the staff know her name and are very attentive. The family feel comfortable that she is in the best possible place and has had some medical issues that have been dealt with promptly. Some distant family
members who have visited have likened it to a hotel.

Both of my parents (96 and 94) move into Signature at Banstead in March 2023.
They have a lovely room surrounded by their own furniture and have settled in well. The staff at the home are very caring and kind, and my parents both feel very safe there, which was our main consideration.
The home is
more like a hotel and is large and has plenty of activity space with a lovely garden. There is always lots to do, and a full programme is provided each week.
The meals provided are of a very high standard, and there is always plenty of choices.
Their medical needs are well cared for, and although my mother has dementia, she is treated with care and understanding by all the staff.
The staff there do an excellent job in what must be difficult circumstances. I cannot praise them enough for providing a safe and caring environment.
My parents feel safe and cared for and that is what we most wanted.

My mum has been here for four months and has settled in really well. Signature at Banstead has such a lovely atmosphere, and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The home is light and airy, and because downstairs is quiet and open plan, it's easy for Mum to see everyone even if she isn't in the
same room, so she never feels alone. The gardens are so well-kept, and there are plenty of places to sit outside. My mum enjoys talking to everyone, and the activity team goes above and beyond in keeping the residents busy. It has been a huge relief to see how well Mum has adapted to living in a home, especially as she was married for 64 years before my father passed away. I can not thank the staff enough for all that they do.

After a sharp decline in health, my mother could no longer live on her own at home. Mym had always said she wanted to stay at home, so we were unsure how she would manage the change; however, it had all been a very positive experience. The lovely, familiar spacious room helps, together with having familiar
possessions on display. The staff are numerous and always caring, interested and respectful; it really is a lovely community. There is a detailed plan of activities, which helps relatives to fit in visits, and the food always appears a very good standard with lots of variety.

My mum has been here for just over two months. She has been very well cared for, especially when there have been a few unforeseen incidents. The first meeting I had with the Client Liaison Manager was lovely. We were looking for respite care for my mother, and she was very kind and helpful. She sorted out the transfer from the hospital, and she and all the staff made Mum feel welcome and supported from day one. The carers were really very
kind and helped Mum get more confident as the weeks went on.

Mum and Dad were reluctant to consider living in a care home, but after three weeks of respite care at Banstead, they decided to stay.
The staff are very welcoming, and Mum and Dad are treated with care and respect. They enjoy the activities and entertainment, and there is always someone to help if
they needed assistance. The home is bright and airy with spacious communal areas, and the rooms are well equipped and well maintained.
As a relative, I am always informed by staff if there are any concerns and am kept up to date with any changes in care needs or medical situations.
I would certainly recommend Signature at Banstead to anyone considering care in the region.

Mum started her stay here at Banstead just two years ago. She moved into Assisted Living first, but when it became obvious she really needed to be in the Dementia Section, they dealt with moving her across in such a kind and professional way I don't think Mum even noticed. I have only ever known the
staff throughout Signature to be friendly and helpful at all times, and if there is ever anything that needs addressing, it is discussed with me and dealt with immediately. The whole team at Signature are always so friendly. You are always greeted with a smile and most often, a chat. The residents are looked after with such kindness, and they are kept busy and entertained during both mornings and afternoons. I really and truly cannot find fault. They're just a great team doing a very hard job, and they do it very well.

My dad moved in at the end of January, five days before his birthday. He settled extremely quickly and was so happy they made a huge fuss about his birthday. The staff are all very caring and friendly, and they run a large selection of activities to keep the residents busy and active, both physically
and mentally. My dad feels safe and listened to and is enjoying still having independence. I also need to add that on my first visit, I was popping in for a brochure. I didn’t expect to be shown around with no appointment, and this really impressed me as I felt that they had nothing to hide and ‘prepare.’ Thank you to the manager for the easy and smooth transition you oversaw.

My mother (96) had a traumatic fall and was in the hospital for six weeks. She then moved directly into Signature at Banstead. She settled very well and was made welcome by all the wonderful, caring staff. The communication is excellent, and I always feel well-informed. There are many choices of activities
to get involved in and regular live music to enjoy. I love that the residents also have trips out in the minibus. My mother has now moved into the reminiscence side, and again, the staff made the transition seamless.
The dedicated staff are excellent. I visit regularly, and they are always so friendly, kind and hard-working. Signature gives my family the peace of mind to know our mother is well cared for in a clean, safe, wonderful place, and her care is second to none.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.837) out of 10 for Signature at Banstead is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.837 for Signature at Banstead is calculated as follows: ( (307 Excellents x 5) + (41 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 355 Ratings = 4.837
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Signature at Banstead is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4

Job Title: Dementia Care Manager Joined: 2015

I began my career with Signature as a Care Assistant in 2015, which was also my first experience of supporting people living with dementia. From the very beginning, I discovered a real passion for dementia care and have progressed through a number of roles, including Senior Carer and Care Supervisor, before becoming a Dementia Care Manager.

After gaining valuable experience within another home in the group, I transferred to Signature at Banstead in May 2024 as Dementia Care Manager, where I now oversee both of our dementia communities, Lavender Lane and Bluebells. I manage the operational, people and clinical aspects of the communities, working alongside an exceptional team to deliver compassionate, person-centred care. Supporting residents with meaningful and purposeful activities is at the heart of what we do, helping them to live well and enjoy the very best quality of life.
