When I moved into Signature, I immediately felt at home, with lots of welcoming faces. The staff are kind to me, and the food is lovely, with lots of choices. I never feel as if I'm on my own, as there is always plenty to do.

My parents have been at Signature at Banstead since September 2021. The care they have received has been excellent. The staff are kind and caring without being condescending; they look after my dad's personal care in a way that he still keeps his dignity. Being a very proud and private person, this
has been very important to him. As my mum's dementia progresses, the patience she is shown is reassuring for her. I am a regular visitor to Signature, and without fail, the atmosphere is friendly, homely and cheerful. Thank you for looking after my parents so well.
Reply from Susan Martin, Manager at Signature at BansteadThank you so much for taking the time to review us. I stayed at Signature for five weeks to recuperate after an operation. All the staff were friendly, professional and helpful. My room was clean, comfortable and well-maintained. The kitchenette facilities were very convenient.

My mother came to the home after living independently for ten years after the death of my father.
It was a big change for her, but the staff responded brilliantly and helped her to transition to her new environment. Very soon she had made new friends and started to join in all the activities. Importantly
she started eating more regularly and loves her new home. The staff have been wonderful, and the home is kept to an immaculate standard.
This is a great result for Mum, but also for the rest of the family, who knows she is happy and receiving the best of care in a lovely home.
Reply from Susan Martin, Manager at Signature at BansteadHi Ken, thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. The team here at Signature at Banstead would firstly like to thank you for your kind words. It is lovely to see how settled she is and enjoying everything that we offer here with her new friends. We look forward to seeing you on your next visit.

From the start in November, my partner has been made very welcome, has been looked after extremely well and is very happy to be in the signature care home.
Any personal problem he has had has been dealt with efficiently and quickly.
He has made some friends, and I often see him chatting and laughing
with some residents on the arrival of my visit.
I feel I can now relax knowing there is always someone there should he need some help.

I have been volunteering at Banstead for over ten years, firstly as an owned community, and more recently since the Signature takeover.
The team, staff and environment are exceptional, and I have always been incredibly impressed by the way the residents are looked after and the level of commitment
shown by all members of staff to provide them with the best home environment possible.
The activities at Banstead are one thing that I always hear people talking about in such high regard, with a programme that is both varied, well-delivered and thoughtfully created.
One thing that has always been apparent is that residents always seem to be smiling. That, for me, says everything.

My father moved in at the end of May 22 - the moving-in process was conducted efficiently by Signature, and the flat was in very good condition upon moving in. The standard of accommodation would be hard to beat, and the staff very proactive and friendly. There are plenty of activities if a resident
wishes to participate. The building itself is in very good condition and always kept spotlessly clean. The advantage of Banstead is that it's possible to walk to the high street, which for my father has been very advantageous. I would be hard-pressed to think of what else the community could offer.
Reply from Signature at Banstead, Customer Team at Signature at BansteadWe are so glad to hear about your father's positive experience with Signature at Banstead and thankful for your kind comments. My mother-in-law required respite care after a fall. Having broken vertebrae and shoulder meant mobility was an issue. Right from the start, we were confident that the nursing/handling provided was of a high standard. The complication of early-stage dementia and trauma from recently losing her husband
meant that my mother-in-law has fluctuating issues, sometimes being confused and distressed and other times appearing to be as we remember her. All this was handled in a no-fuss way that put my mother-in-law and us at ease. Thank you so much for your kindness and care, which was excellent.

Both my parents recently moved into Signature at Banstead - and the team have been always been helpful in answering any Q's we have had, and have always tried to do "that little bit extra" which is greatly appreciated.
Once they moved in the care provided that I have seen is always cheerfully done,
with a willingness to undertake anything more needed.
Mum had a birthday recently - and she had a card, birthday cake, and balloons all laid on by the team - again just little things that make it more pleasant.

My cousin has come to Signature at Banstead after a rather difficult time in hospital because of staff shortages and the Covid-19 restrictions. Now, after three months, she is at last beginning to settle into her chosen change of lifestyle. The home is superb and my cousin is now realising the benefits
of being well cared for with the responsibilities of day to day living having been taken over by everyone in the team which you aptly call the community. As she now begins to feel more settled, I'm sure she will appreciate and be more grateful for this newfound warmth and security that was so lacking when living in her own home alone whilst trying to cope with extremely poor mobility.

My father is at the crossover between independent living on his own and assisted living and has been looking at his options. He has, therefore, been on a respite break at Signature at Banstead, which he has now extended to cover the Xmas period. The management and staff have been excellent in helping
him to adjust to the care home environment, and he very much likes the staff and companionship at the home. He is now considering whether it would be better for him to move there permanently and give up living on his own in his own home. For someone who has been used to being independent, it would mark a significant change, like he's giving up driving, and so he is giving it careful thought.

My mother has been in Sunrise for nearly 4-years and has always been treated very well by all the staff and her care, especially by her carers that help her daily, could not have been better. I would advise any potential family to consider, not only the welfare of the family member but also the needs
of the family as a whole. I know if Mum had continued to live alone, I would not have been able to continue with my life in the same way as the worry that I had would have got worse daily and our good relationship would have suffered. Sunrise has given Mum respect but also care that I am not able to give.
She has the opportunity to join in with lots of activities, which she is encouraged to do, and most definitely has a more enriched day for this.

Everyone very friendly, helpful and made you feel comfortable.
Meals on time, but very small portions, but I was on respite care after surgery, so I had no appetite anyway. The fridge in my room was great as I had to use ice packs every day.

My mother has been a resident for almost a month. She arrived at a very difficult time with Covid and had to isolate completely for a week in her room. Despite this, she was made to feel welcome and settled in within a week.
While the excellent facilities play an important role, the most important
thing is the quality and kindness of staff and teamwork. There appears to be such a happy atmosphere both between staff members and in their interactions with their residents.
To know your mother is being looked after with perfect kindness and professionalism in excellent surroundings is all one is after and Sunrise Banstead provides just that.
On some of the ratings (including care/support, treated with dignity, staff, management) the 'Excellent' score should be read as 'Absolutely outstanding'.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Sunrise of Banstead. All the staff from management to cleaners are friendly, professional and caring. All residents are treated with dignity and love. I had huge reservations about Mum going into assisted living, becoming an object in a chair staring at the
TV. This couldn’t be further from reality. Their activities schedule is better than mine! So much care and thought is put into their daily lives, with external entertainers and an internal activities team who work tirelessly (like all staff) to keep all the residents entertained and engaged. The home is more like a hotel, with a bright and uplifting atmosphere with decor that I’d happily have in my own home! The gardens are beautiful and well looked after for residents to enjoy safely. From an admin point of view, communication is excellent and any concerns instantly addressed. It’s expensive but my mind is at rest knowing that Mum’s happy and being well looked after.

The care and kindness shown to my Mum throughout her time at Sunrise has been fantastic. Like many people of her age, she can be difficult, but the Sunrise staff are fantastically patient and positive. The food is good and the entertainment programme is varied and fun as could possibly be hoped for.
We (the family) are so happy to know that Mum is safe and well cared for. Living all over the world it is a reassurance that is very important to us. Overall we consider ourselves very lucky to have found Sunrise Banstead.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.837)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.837) out of 10 for Signature at Banstead is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.837 for Signature at Banstead is calculated as follows: ( (307 Excellents x 5) + (41 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 355 Ratings = 4.837
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Signature at Banstead is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 96 registered maximum number of service users is 19.2, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Since November 2023, I have been Deputy Manager, leading the wider team and supporting the General Manager in all clinical matters. My focus is on ensuring the home operates to the highest standards and delivers exceptional care. I am proud to be part of a stable and dedicated management team and look forward to continuing my journey at Banstead.

I started my journey in Health and Social Care in 2012 and I have never looked back. I joined the Signature at Banstead family in February 2023 as an Assisted Living Coordinator. Job Title: Dementia Care Manager Joined: 2015

I began my career with Signature as a Care Assistant in 2015, which was also my first experience of supporting people living with dementia. From the very beginning, I discovered a real passion for dementia care and have progressed through a number of roles, including Senior Carer and Care Supervisor, before becoming a Dementia Care Manager.

After gaining valuable experience within another home in the group, I transferred to Signature at Banstead in May 2024 as Dementia Care Manager, where I now oversee both of our dementia communities, Lavender Lane and Bluebells. I manage the operational, people and clinical aspects of the communities, working alongside an exceptional team to deliver compassionate, person-centred care. Supporting residents with meaningful and purposeful activities is at the heart of what we do, helping them to live well and enjoy the very best quality of life.
