I was pleasantly surprised at how easy I fitted in with this community. The low proportion of males to females was a concern initially, but was soon overcome. I found the entertainment and in house activities engaging and my room was very comfortable and quiet.
Did not get much opportunity to explore
Banstead due to poor weather but shops and facilities seemed close.
My only query was regarding the TV channels available to me but I am sure this could have been sorted if I had been staying on for any time beyond the two week respite period.
I now need to decide do I move to Banstead to be near my daughter and her family, or do I find somewhere in my home area of Dorset where a similar standard of care should be slightly cheaper.
Reply from Tammy Sirilli, Home Manager at Signature at BansteadDear John. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience following your respite stay with us.
We are so pleased to hear that you quickly felt part of the community and enjoyed the entertainment and activities on offer. Our team works hard to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where residents can feel comfortable, and it is lovely to know you found your room peaceful and comfortable during your stay. We appreciate that deciding where to live is a very personal choice, especially when balancing proximity to family and future care needs. We do hope to welcome you back to Signature at Banstead in the future.

My mum has been a resident at Signature Banstead for nearly two years and she enjoys the friendly staff, food and general surroundings. One of the main reasons the family chose this home was due to the wide variety of activities on offer but sadly the quality and quantity of these activities has deteriorated
over the last six months, particularly trips out and evening entertainment. In addition, families used to be kept informed of the activities programme and receive a monthly newsletter but this no longer happens which makes it harder to feel involved especially living a long distance away and not being able to visit regularly.
The quality of the surroundings and facilities at Banstead are reflected in the cost and we were originally told that fees would rise on average by around 5%. However, in reality, they have gone up by 17.5% in just two years and this is something that potential residents need to bear in mind.
Reply from Tammy Sirilli, Client Liaison Manager at Signature at BansteadThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to hear that your mum enjoys the friendly staff, food, and surroundings, and appreciate your recognition of the team. We are sorry to learn of your concerns regarding the recent activity programme and communication about events. We recognise that the consistency of our activities and updates has not met your expectations and are reviewing our activities schedule and communication processes to ensure they are more engaging and reliable. Fee changes are assessed on an individual basis taking into account any changes in required care or support rather than the annual fee review alone. Thank you again for your comments and for the trust you place in us to support your mum. If you would like to discuss any of the points raised, our General Manager would be pleased to speak with you.

Our 95 year old mum went into Signature Banstead in May 2022 with Alzheimer dementia, after a terrible fall and injury meaning she couldn't live independently or without 24/7 monitoring. Initially in Assisted Living, mum took part in the range of activities and trips out, until due to her condition
she moved into Bluebells, for more focused dementia care. The home regularly dress the place up be it for Wimbledon tennis, England football, Christmas, Easter, armistice remembrance and a host of other occasions. The activities team are inventive and encourage all to become part of what is, a large home.
Some of the Signature staff are just amazing and all of them are very good. The care and support our mum received was wonderful and some of the staff go way beyond their job role. Their welcoming smiles, demonstrable love and kindness gave us enormous solace as mum's condition deteriorated and she finally succumbed to that awful illness in July 2025. I heartily recommend Banstead Signature.
Reply from Tammy Sirilli, Home Manager at Signature at BansteadThank you for taking the time to share your experience of Signature at Banstead. Please accept our heartfelt condolences on the passing of your beloved mum. We feel truly privileged to have been part of her journey and to have supported both her and your family during her time with us. It means so much to know that she was able to enjoy the activities, events, and community here, and that our team’s care and kindness brought comfort to you all. Your kind words about our staff will be shared with the whole team. Thank you for taking the time to recommend us, even at such a difficult time. Your mum will be fondly remembered by those who cared for her, and your family will remain in our thoughts.

Finally we have found a 'home' for dad. We lost mum in July 2023 and dad, who was fit as a fiddle, driving, playing bowls and adjusting to a life without his soulmate, had a stroke out of the blue. His left side has been affected, leaving him unable to walk which of course has turned his life upside
down! Signature of Banstead is the 3rd Carehome placement we have tried since dad came out of hospital and we can at last see the dad we had before his stroke. He has been there just under a week and already he looks healthier, bright eyed and chats to anyone and everyone! The care team are wonderful, always stopping to say hello, have a little chat or simply a wave and a smile - all this means so much to residents, especially when settling into somewhere new. Dad has a friend he sits with at mealtimes everyday and it is wonderful to see him chatting at the dining table. Signature of Banstead have given my dad a future without mum, it's great to see him smiling again.
Reply from Sue Hester, Home Manager at Signature at BansteadThank you for your email and for your glowing 5 star review. See you again next time you are visiting.

A fantastic facility, with helpful and caring staff that help create an engaging environment for your loved ones to enjoy life.
My Father did not have good experiences at 2 other care homes prior to Signature, however since moving in he is starting to find a new lease of life and wanting to engage
with what the home has to offer.
There is a real focus on care and inclusion, providing interesting entertainment and ensuring that first class meal options are always available. This really helps make all the residents feel like this is a home from home.
Keep up the good work everyone!

My mother was very happy during her respite stay at Signature at Banstead. It was an excellent experience for her and it helped her to get her strength back.
The staff when I visited were always friendly, kind and caring. The home feels very welcoming and everything is clean and well maintained. The
Bistro is a lovely area to sit and chat and have a drink.
My mother enjoyed various activities particularly the exercise groups.

Mum was in respite for two weeks over Christmas, in a nice bedroom with an ensuite. We were invited to dine on the first day, which gave us an idea of the good quality of food. The care was personal to my Mum. With knowledge from Mum's assessment, two members of staff from Mum's country of origin came
by the room on the first day to introduce themselves in her language and you could tell this put her at ease. All the staff we encountered were warm and polite and seemed well-trained in dealing with dementia residents. The facilities are excellent throughout the whole building, including the dementia wing. The place is clean and the decor is to a hotel standard. The activities are frequent and varied. My Mum had barely been there a couple of hours before she was off on a minibus to see the Christmas lights. On our return after two weeks, she was in no rush to leave and hugged all the staff goodbye. They told me she was a pleasure to care for. Although a bit pricey, I cannot fault the service.

It is never easy having to put a family member into a care home, however the experience at Signature at Banstead was excellent. Client Liaison Manager who takes care of new residents was excellent and took care of everything we needed and I cannot fault the service we got. The home has been brilliant
for my Aunt who is not only thoroughly enjoying living at Signature but is also thriving. There is no doubt that she is far better at being in the home rather than being alone at home. She gets involved in all of the activities of which there are many and all of the staff are so helpful and welcoming.
Any of our family members that visit, say it is not like visiting a care home but more like visiting an expensive Hotel because of the experience. It really was the best decision we ever did and has been such a positive thing for my aunt.
I have to say it is value for money from the aspect that many homes are costing this and for what they offer, however it is a shame that these costs are so high.

My husband and I moved into Signature at Banstead at the beginning of October.
We were both a bit uncertain as to whether or not we had done the right thing but believe me it has proved to be so right. Everyone is so friendly and caring. There is a lovely atmosphere and the carers are so caring, but
so is everyone. Whoever you meet in the various areas they will speak.
There are good activities to take part in and the Activity Team keeps you busy if that is what you like.
If you like a quiet time there are plenty of areas in which to do this.
Do not think there is an Assisted Living Home better than this one.

From our first interaction with the management team at Signature at Banstead, we were very impressed. The home is spotlessly clean and very well cared for. The bedrooms are well-sized with excellent en-suite facilities. The lounge and dining room are welcoming and spacious and the coffee area for residents
and their families to use is warm and inviting.
Mum was very anxious about the move but the carers were kind and supportive of her. They took the time to get to know her and recognised her worries so that she felt supported. They are encouraging and enabling but never pushy. They always treat the residents with respect and make them feel valued.
The food is very good - beautifully presented by kind and attentive staff. The activities team are creative and arranges a wide range of activities which the majority of residents seem to participate in and enjoy. Overall I would recommend this care home for both its facilities and more importantly for its care and compassion.

I was in need of some urgent respite care for my mum with dementia. I was quickly put in touch with a particular member of staff who was very friendly and welcoming. She talked me patiently through the whole process and showed me around the home and gardens.
Another staff member met Mum in the hospital
the next day and was really lovely & kind and was able to assess her needs.
Mum spent 2 weeks in Banstead and received really lovely care from dedicated, compassionate & empathetic staff. Mum enjoyed the interaction with the staff and ate some lovely meals.

My lovely Mum moved into Signature Banstead in May. She was extremely anxious and frightened, it was such a big life change for her to leave her own house and begin a new life at Signature. As a family we prepared her suite so it was really like home from home. From the very first day every single member
of staff did everything they could to make Mum feel welcome and cared for, managers, reception, carers, activities team, catering, cleaning staff, not forgetting the lovely lady who does the personal laundry, all were so kind. Mum settled in fairly quickly, and I felt very confident that she was being very well looked after. Two months on and she is enjoying her new life. There is always something going on, indoor activities and outings in the minibus. The facilities and food are excellent too. I really don't think we could have found anywhere better for my Mum. A big thank you to everyone at Signature Banstead.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
