All the staff have been wonderful - very caring and considerate, and they treat the residents with dignity. There are lots of activities to join in with, and a real buzz about the place. The bistro and lounge are lovely areas for residents to meet in.

Considerate and skilled in creating an uplifting atmosphere. Very good at welcoming residents, helping them settle, join activities, receive assistance according to their needs and wishes, and strong at communicating with the residents and their families.

My mother has been a resident since November 2023, and all the family are pleased to see how well she has settled in. From erratic eating and watching TV all day she is eating well and is both mentally and physically stimulated by the activities. I and other family members have experience of other care
homes, and this is one of the best we have come across. We are all relieved that my mother is so well cared for and making new friends.

I have been a regular visitor (several times a week) since my Grandmother moved in 6 months ago. I always find Banstead Signature to be a really warm welcoming environment. The staff team are really established with very little staff turnover, they work really well together to ensure the best for the
residents. I have been really impressed by the range of activities and events that are arranged for the residents. The rooms and communal spaces are extremely well maintained and the food menus always look good. I genuinely don't think we could have found a better residential home for my Grandmother.

My mother moved into Signature about 8 weeks ago, after living alone and independently for about 5 years. From the very outset every single member of the staff has been fantastic. Everyone is always friendly, treating the residents with real respect, helpful and there's a noticeable positive attitude
in all the interactions between the staff and residents. This consistent high and caring standard of behavior has really helped my mother settle in to her new way of life. It's great to hear her tell me about activities she's enjoyed taking part in, something I never imagined would happen given her independent way of life before. Thank you everyone in SH!

My mother has been a resident since July 2020 which was a difficult time for everybody with Covid. All the staff kept everyone safe and entertained with a variety of virtual trips around the world. Since then the entertainment and care continues to be excellent. The residents are treated as one big
family no matter their capabilities. Mum is now 97 and still enjoys life to the full.

I am a volunteer and I love helping out with social events whenever possible and once a week I assist with arts and crafts in the dementia unit. There is a full timetable of daily activities for all residents and family members are always encouraged to join in.
The care and support that the home provides
to residents and their families is superb.

I have been visiting Signature of Banstead for the last 7 years and I have always found the staff are attentive and caring to the residents. They also join in with the activity I provide to ensure they get the most out of our time together. I also regularly see the activities calendar and can see how
well the residents are entertained with singers, speakers and trips out along with baking afternoons and social events.
When I speak to the residents they all seem happy and well looked after.

My dad arrived at Signature care home in September last year. He has a diagnosis of dementia. It was initially difficult for Dad to settle into his new environment; however, with the support of excellent management and an exceptionally wonderful care team, Dad is now settling in well.
The team has
been very supportive, providing good care for my dad.
It has been a huge relief to know Dad is being looked after by people who genuinely care.
I would highly recommend Signature at Banstead.

Our mum is very happy at Signature at Banstead. After staying there on respite care, she decided she would like to live there permanently, so this is what she has now done. The main reason is that there is always something going on, such as outings, games, etc. She also enjoys all the company of the
residents and staff; it is a very friendly environment.

Staff are always very helpful, welcoming and friendly. Mum has said food can be a little variable in the past but has improved this year with the new chef. Have had a couple of issues with the non-attendance of staff, after 30 minutes after Mum has activated her pendant - hopefully will improve this
year with the new system, but generally, staff come quickly if they can. The home is very clean and well-maintained. Lots of activities - Mum always appears to be busy with something. Mum is getting an internal phone as sometimes she finds it difficult to locate the right person through the concierge. Home went out of their way to take Mum to the Doctor when the taxi did not turn up and took Mum in their own bus - so greatly appreciated. Overall, very impressed with the standard of care, and Mum has committed to staying here on a long-term basis as a result.

I must say that all the staff are so friendly, and nothing is too much trouble here. My mother has used Signature at Bandstead for respite care and has now been a full-time resident for three months, and she loves it there.
There always so much going on every day, and she’s very sociable.
So it’s
the ideal home for her; she just loves it there.

We visited several care homes and instantly knew this was the right one for my dad. The staff are warm, caring, friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. They show a real interest in each individual as a person and there is a genuine feeling of happiness, calm and inclusivity. There are
lots of interesting activities to either take part in or watch. I have been hugely impressed by the care and kindness shown to my dad and our family. There was one day when he wasn't feeling well and the attention to detail and care he received was amazing. It is wonderful to know he is in safe hands.

My partner seemed to settle quite quickly into his two-week respite stay. He was welcomed by all staff and looked after very well. I was offered lunch which I accepted and enjoyed. My partner joined in a few of the activities and had a beautiful ensuite room. Friends and family who visited during the
two weeks were very impressed.

We cannot fault the wonderful welcome from all the staff. I was extremely impressed when I just called in without an appointment one Saturday to pick up some information and was given a full tour. My mother was apprehensive at first but soon settled in and on her first day was again welcomed in a friendly

I needed somewhere to take two weeks convalescence following surgery. From my first visit to see round the home, I was very quickly confident that this would be the right place: the calm atmosphere, restful decor, comfortable furnishings and cleanliness, plus the feeling of welcome from management and
staff. After admission, everything lived up to and often exceeded my hopes. Staff and volunteers put a lot of work into keeping the residents safe, comfortable, healthy and engaged with activities and entertainments. The grounds and gardens are beautifully-maintained and offer a good space for gentle exercise and walks after meals etc. At the end of my fortnight, I was genuinely sorry to leave. If I need further convalescence in the future, or even a permanent residency in a care home when I can no longer cope on my own, Signature at Banstead will be my first choice. Worth saying too, that all my visitors while I was there were impressed and commented favourably on the home.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.831)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.831) out of 10 for Signature at Banstead is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.831 for Signature at Banstead is calculated as follows: ( (295 Excellents x 5) + (41 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 343 Ratings = 4.831
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Signature at Banstead is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 96 registered maximum number of service users is 19.2, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Dementia Care Manager Joined: 2015

I began my career with Signature as a Care Assistant in 2015, which was also my first experience of supporting people living with dementia. From the very beginning, I discovered a real passion for dementia care and have progressed through a number of roles, including Senior Carer and Care Supervisor, before becoming a Dementia Care Manager.

After gaining valuable experience within another home in the group, I transferred to Signature at Banstead in May 2024 as Dementia Care Manager, where I now oversee both of our dementia communities, Lavender Lane and Bluebells. I manage the operational, people and clinical aspects of the communities, working alongside an exceptional team to deliver compassionate, person-centred care. Supporting residents with meaningful and purposeful activities is at the heart of what we do, helping them to live well and enjoy the very best quality of life.
