We attended the family bing evening at the Guildford House Care Home and it was great. The events staff always deliver fun and interesting events that help to engage families and create a welcoming community/family spirit. They show a really high level of genuine care with residents and this is obvious

My mother spent two and a half years at Guildford House, she passed away on 8/8/2023. She felt safe, cared for and happy to be there, from her initial welcome to her last day. The staff were kind, attentive and responsive, and would even pop in to see her when they had time, even if not called. I cannot
recommend Guildford House highly enough. From reception, to admin, to care, they are all great.

I visited for 171 consecutive days at different times of the day and evening... and at all times, my father was in immaculate condition. The care is exceptional. The whole 1st-floor team of carers, nurses, cleaners and handymen are tip-top. I can not thank them enough. They treated my father with the
utmost respect, used charm and humour to match his and generally were beyond patient and loving.
After visiting several homes, I found the person 1st helping me to be brilliant, and it was the only one that didn't smell... ever.
The place is full of life and joy thanks to the amazing entertainment team, who work so, so hard and always have a smile and a new novel idea to entertain.
Great sweeping entrance hall and clever use of bending corridors to stop it from looking like a hospital.
Onside physio blew all my expectations away by getting my father to walk after three months in a hospital bed.

My wife is in her eighties and, for some time, has suffered from Alzheimer's and incontinence. During the early stage of her illness, she wanted to stay at home, and we employed carers in the early morning at midday and in the evening to look after her. She gradually grew worse until finally, in August
2022, the carers could no longer cope with her problems and departed, leaving us to get an ambulance, but they refused to come. We were stunned. I visited "Signature" recently and was very impressed. I phoned them, and they replied, "give us half an hour, and we will have a room ready for her". After a quick check, she was taken to the dementia ward as she can no longer look after herself. In a few moments, she was in bed and in an attractive room surrounded by nurses and carers. She made steady progress. The nursing was excellent, and her carer was always keen to tell me of my wife's progress. She could not have had better care or attention. There were thirty carers in the dementia ward, attended by three nurses and about twelve carers. By comparison with the main part of the building, where there was a lot of activity, the dementia ward was a very calm area without pressure or stress. Most of the patients spent a lot of the day asleep whilst others listened to music or sang songs they remembered. Some, who were capable, went to places of interest in the minibus. At meal times, patients in wheelchairs went in first to a pleasant dining room and well-planned meals. Those who could no longer feed themselves were fed by a carer. Individual preferences were always noted and considered. For my wife and her time at

Dad has been there for just over a year, and it is the right place for him now. It took him a while to integrate into the new way of life, but the staff are very good at "encouraging" residents to join in the many and varied activities. When it became clear that my wife needed residential care, a friend recommended Signature at Guildford. I am very glad he did, as both my wife and I are incredibly happy with the care she is receiving. The building is beautifully laid out and very comfortable, but it is the staff who make Signature
so special. They are very attentive and appear to have as much time as my wife needs. They are cheerful all the time, and nothing they are asked to do seems too difficult.
There are a number of customer-facing organisations that could learn a lot from the Signature philosophy, and I would confidently recommend them to anyone.

We received kindness and amazing nursing and food. My husband was in the home with dementia, and I was able to go with him. I stayed until he died - everything was very professional and brilliant. He was looked after 24/7. I was able to go with him and stayed by his side until he died. I stayed for
a further two weeks afterwards to get used to my new circumstances. I did go home but seriously thought about going back myself as I am 75.

My mum had been reluctant to move into a care home at first, but the staff were so kind and helpful she settled in quickly. All the staff went out of their way to explain things and to make her feel supported and welcome. The facilities are just what she needed with sufficient social activities, a lovely
restaurant and peace and quiet in her room when she needs it. I feel confident she is safe and well and that she will enjoy living there.

The staff at Signature did a wonderful job settling my parents into the care home when they arrived nearly 2-years ago. My parents are well enough to be able to report that the carers are genuinely caring and look after them very well, and that is certainly also the impression that I have. The building

The first time I stepped inside the door of Sunrise, I immediately felt there was a great atmosphere and a good buzz about the place. Management and staff couldn’t have been more helpful/understanding, and we knew this was the place for our dear Mam, who needed 24-hour nursing care.
Accommodation is
excellent, there's a beautiful garden for residents to relax in and a hive of activities and trips to enjoy.
All staff/carers/nurses and activities people were so kind to Mam and us - we visited every day and got to know them all by name and could see, daily, the amount of attention and care given to Mam. We joined in lots of the activities with Mam and the other residents; we were always made to feel welcome every single day and became part of the Sunrise community.
I can’t thank Sunrise enough for the wonderful, dignified care and kindness given to Mam throughout the last few months of her life. I would certainly recommend Sunrise to anyone looking for a care home for their loved one.

I went into Sunrise for remedial care and respite for my husband, following a fall and breaking my left wrist. I admit to being reluctant to go but our son persuaded me because my husband and I both needed care. The accommodation was all I needed for a short stay and the carers were amazing. The residents
were very friendly and helpful. No complaints at all.

My parents moved to the Guildford Sunrise home in September 2015 when they had both entered their 90's, and my mother continues to be a resident there.


Throughout this time, I have been impressed with the continuity and caring of the Sunrise staff. I believe they have lengthened my parent's lifespan

and made their last years a significantly happier experience than they might otherwise have been.


It is, of course, relevant to mention the COVID pandemic at this time, and the home has managed the crisis very carefully and successfully. A huge thank you and well done from me to the Sunrise team.

We chose Sunrise of Guildford for my dad because they had been excellent in caring for my father-in-law some years ago. Sadly Dad was very poorly when he arrived from the hospital but the care, compassion and kindness he received during his stay and end of his life was exceptional. The staff even donned
their PPE and brought a cake and a lovely rendition of happy birthday for his 101st. We also hugely appreciated the kindness and consideration shown to us at such a tough time.

My father spent a few weeks at Sunrise of Guildford for end-of-life care. The facilities were excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. We were allowed to visit my Dad (following Covid-19 testing) on a regular basis as he was nearing the end of his life. The staff were compassionate and caring and
looked after Dad so well. My sister and I wish we could have persuaded him to move to the care home sooner as he would have enjoyed the great facilities on offer. When my Father passed away the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and said they had enjoyed getting to know my Dad in the short time he spent in their excellent care.

My mother, 93, spent two and a half years at Sunrise but this week, sadly, we had to move her. I have nothing but praise for the staff at Sunrise for the way they looked after my mother during her time there. At mealtimes one of the staff, often the chef, would come and ask if everything was all right,
and bring her extra roast potatoes with a smile. The family, including great-grandchildren and dog, were always made welcome; we were able to share meals with her in the private dining room or had the choice of her room or any of five other pleasant sitting areas or the beautiful garden. She could not have had kinder or tenderer care from both the care and nursing staff; whoever passed by - management, admin, technical, laundry, or cleaning staff - all had a smile and a friendly word. Her birthday was celebrated; Christmas was a wonderfully full and happy period, with many entertainments, great food and beautiful decorations. Heartfelt, grateful thanks for such human kindness.

I enjoy working in the Signature at Guildford community. It is truly rewarding to work with an exceptional team and deliver high-quality care to our residents.

I have worked in both our assisted living and dementia neighbourhoods and feel very lucky to have met such lovely residents. I have particularly enjoyed listening to the stories about their interesting lives. My favourite part of my day is when I arrive at work and see the morning smiles on our residents' faces.”
