The staff at Signature did a wonderful job settling my parents into the care home when they arrived nearly 2-years ago. My parents are well enough to be able to report that the carers are genuinely caring and look after them very well, and that is certainly also the impression that I have. The building itself and the accommodation are very comfortable and well run.

The first time I stepped inside the door of Sunrise, I immediately felt there was a great atmosphere and a good buzz about the place. Management and staff couldn’t have been more helpful/understanding, and we knew this was the place for our dear Mam, who needed 24-hour nursing care.
Accommodation is excellent, there's a beautiful garden for residents to relax in and a hive of activities and trips to enjoy.
All staff/carers/nurses and activities people were so kind to Mam and us - we visited every day and got to know them all by name and could see, daily, the amount of attention and care given to Mam. We joined in lots of the activities with Mam and the other residents; we were always made to feel welcome every single day and became part of the Sunrise community.

I can’t thank Sunrise enough for the wonderful, dignified care and kindness given to Mam throughout the last few months of her life. I would certainly recommend Sunrise to anyone looking for a care home for their loved one.

I went into Sunrise for remedial care and respite for my husband, following a fall and breaking my left wrist. I admit to being reluctant to go but our son persuaded me because my husband and I both needed care. The accommodation was all I needed for a short stay and the carers were amazing. The residents were very friendly and helpful. No complaints at all.

My parents moved to the Guildford Sunrise home in September 2015 when they had both entered their 90's, and my mother continues to be a resident there.

Throughout this time, I have been impressed with the continuity and caring of the Sunrise staff. I believe they have lengthened my parent's lifespan and made their last years a significantly happier experience than they might otherwise have been.

It is, of course, relevant to mention the COVID pandemic at this time, and the home has managed the crisis very carefully and successfully. A huge thank you and well done from me to the Sunrise team.

We chose Sunrise of Guildford for my dad because they had been excellent in caring for my father-in-law some years ago. Sadly Dad was very poorly when he arrived from the hospital but the care, compassion and kindness he received during his stay and end of his life was exceptional. The staff even donned their PPE and brought a cake and a lovely rendition of happy birthday for his 101st. We also hugely appreciated the kindness and consideration shown to us at such a tough time.

My father spent a few weeks at Sunrise of Guildford for end-of-life care. The facilities were excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. We were allowed to visit my Dad (following Covid-19 testing) on a regular basis as he was nearing the end of his life. The staff were compassionate and caring and looked after Dad so well. My sister and I wish we could have persuaded him to move to the care home sooner as he would have enjoyed the great facilities on offer. When my Father passed away the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and said they had enjoyed getting to know my Dad in the short time he spent in their excellent care.

My mother, 93, spent two and a half years at Sunrise but this week, sadly, we had to move her. I have nothing but praise for the staff at Sunrise for the way they looked after my mother during her time there. At mealtimes one of the staff, often the chef, would come and ask if everything was all right, and bring her extra roast potatoes with a smile. The family, including great-grandchildren and dog, were always made welcome; we were able to share meals with her in the private dining room or had the choice of her room or any of five other pleasant sitting areas or the beautiful garden. She could not have had kinder or tenderer care from both the care and nursing staff; whoever passed by - management, admin, technical, laundry, or cleaning staff - all had a smile and a friendly word. Her birthday was celebrated; Christmas was a wonderfully full and happy period, with many entertainments, great food and beautiful decorations. Heartfelt, grateful thanks for such human kindness.

We have been resident in Sunrise of Guildford since February 2020. We have been very well looked after, and the staff have taken particular care to ensure our safety and freedom from Coronavirus infection. All residents are tested regularly every three weeks, and to date, no one in the care home has been infected by the virus. This is a remarkable and most creditworthy achievement.

My mother originally went to Sunrise Guildford for respite but it proved to be a very fortunate decision as then COVID arrived and lockdown took place and we were so grateful that she was at Sunrise in a place of safety and being so well cared for. The staff are absolutely fantastic. Everyone is so welcoming and kind. They are always smiling and polite and the residents are treated like one big happy family. If we ever have any worries or concerns they do all they can to reassure us and they have worked so hard and diligently during lockdown to ensure that everyone was kept safe. We are so grateful to them for this as I am sure it involved staff making a lot of personal sacrifices to carry out their duties which reflects true dedication.

During the Covid-19 lockdown, Sunrise has been amazing at keeping the residents safe and the friends and relatives informed. The staff 'video call' me about twice a week so I can see and chat to my mother and most importantly, as my mother has dementia, I can speak to the carers who look after her. I receive regular informative update letters both from the manager at Guildford and the CEO of Sunrise UK. The staff are incredibly caring and dedicated, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart for all they are doing to keep my mother happy and safe.

An exceptional service exemplified by both a highly professional attitude and approach and a caring and kind environment. I never expected my mother to enjoy living away from her home of 50 years plus but following the death of her husband and increasing vascular dementia, she has settled in so quickly and really enjoys the environment. I have seen her persona and mood improve markedly and it is now more positive, optimistic and engaged despite increasing dementia.

Sunrise of Guildford appreciate moving into a care home can be an unsettling time. This is why we take the time to engage with family members and friends of the resident to make the process as smooth as possible, to get to know the resident on a personal level. We are pleased to hear your mother has settled in well.

During the current Covid 19 pandemic there has been a huge amount of negative press about care homes and the provisions that they have made for their residents. Sunrise of Guildford has been absolutely first class in every respect. My father has dementia and doesn't really understand the current situation, in addition, he is not familiar with the benefits which technology afford him. The staff have been superb, regularly video calling, picking the moments when my father is at his most engaged. He is unable to communicate very well but a blown kiss or a thumbs up from him on screen has meant the world to me. One particular carer took the time to sit with my Dad and write a card to me, giving me his news and that he was missing me. I was very touched. The team at Guildford, expertly led, have faced huge challenges themselves but I feel secure in the knowledge that with their commitment, dedication, professionalism, love and care that my Dad is in very safe hands. Thank you all very much.

My parents moved into this care home in July 2019. The move was made extremely easy owning to care, attention and professionalism of the entire staff, care staff, nursing staff and management alike. On the death of my mother, Sunrise offered huge support and extreme dignity and are caring for my 90-year-old father with great attention and compassion. The home is beautifully presented, extremely well maintained. The food is also excellent and very varied. Can highly recommend!
