My mother initially spent several weeks at the home for respite care and decided to stay on as a permanent resident. The staff have been outstanding in making her welcome and caring for her needs, while the management was very helpful, and flexible as Mum transitioned into permanent care. The facilities
are excellent, and opportunities for residents to socialise and spend time doing activities are first-class.

The care home looking after my older sister is very good all-round. Of course, my one day visit cannot test every aspect of care, but my own experience on the day was excellent - with very caring and polite staff. My sister gave me very good reports of many experiences she has had and is extremely happy
with her care. Value for money is one thing I cannot comment on.

Extremely helpful staff and management at all times, including support to acquire and collected spectacles at their own expense. Pleasant garden and sun lounge in the open air. Medical help on hand.

Always able to speak to a member of the care home about father's state of health and am informed if any changes encountered. Has been a very difficult time for both the care staff and indeed us, and the care personnel have been amazing in difficult circumstances.
A little disappointed that my father
lost both his hearing aids and mislays his only pair of glasses on a regular basis!

Excellent care for my father. They managed to find a place for him after a sudden hospital admission and have been very flexible about the length of his stay. His health has improved rapidly thanks to the care and support of the staff. He has really enjoyed his time here and plans to come back when
the time is right.

My mother has a brief respite care experience of Sunrise from late August to 7th September 2021. She arrived from the hospital. Her care was well-planned, and the support she required was just what was needed. Staff were friendly and professional. Mum had a severe stroke there days before she died;
she was cared for sympathetically and attentively. The support for the family in this period was outstanding, especially on the night she died.

The level of care at Sunrise is truly excellent, and my mother has been treated with dignity and kindness by amazing staff. It has been no trouble at all to extend her respite stay, which has provided reassurance and welcome stability, as plans have had to change. The facilities are very impressive
and provide a really comfortable and friendly environment with plenty of organised activities and themed decorations to brighten and engage the residents. The food is really high class with plenty of choices, and it is relaxing for visitors to enjoy the Bristo refreshments.

Assisted Living care and provisions are good and my mother was very happy for 18 months. Problems arose with a management change in 2019 when communication deteriorated.
Dementia care has been inconsistent. It was extremely difficult to gain access during the pandemic until I liaised with the head
office. The care that the staff delivers is good but the information provided via management was poor. Care assessments and doctor's appointments are continually performed without family/POA being aware despite our request and LPA, medications have been administered without informed consent. The dementia unit care pricing is opaque with seven levels and no clarity as to how residents qualify for the levels or explanation of these levels This makes them more expensive in the long term once in the dementia unit than most alternatives in the area that I’ve investigated. Other homes offer room rates, which are more than Sunrise, but include care so care costs do not increase.

Mum is well cared for. The facilities are good, the staff friendly and helpful, and the environment is very pleasant. The garden is lovely, and the entertainment and trips are delightful. The food is excellent.

My prolonged stay at Sunrise of Esher has been very happy. I have recovered so much better from my operation (hip replacement). So well looked after by all the caring staff. Very comfortable and extremely well fed.

Mum was initially having respite care in the lead up to a hip replacement operation. Unfortunately, she didn't recover as well as expected, and the Sunrise staff have been excellent in arranging extensions to her stay at Sunrise twice, at very short notice. Their help and support have been invaluable.
She has felt safe and well cared for, which for her family has provided complete peace of mind. Thank you all so much.

This is the second time I am submitting a review. The last time related to my mother arriving at Sunrise of Esher in October 2020. Sadly, we have reached the end of our connection with the 'family' at Sunrise, and we will miss their friendship and support. My mother has gone through a prolonged period
of 'end of life' care. This was carried out by the Dr and his team as well as the care staff at Sunrise with extreme sensitivity, and dare I say it, love. All was put in place to make her comfortable and pain-free. Nothing was too much trouble. She retained her dignity and identity, which is so important to any resident and their family. The management bent over backwards to accommodate our needs during the Covid lockdowns, which was a privilege, not afforded to all care home residents around the country. Thank you, Sunrise, for helping us through a significant time in our lives. We will always be indebted to you.

I joined here as a Senior Care Assistant in 2013, progressed to Reminiscence Coordinator, managed the Assisted Living Department, and now I am overseeing both departments as a Deputy Manager since September 2019. I also supported the General Manager with Clinical Requirements and the Activities Coordinator with our Activities Programme. In August 2023 I was promoted to General Manager position.


I have been given the opportunity to develop my skills, learn and progress. I am a qualified physiotherapist with a hospital and private sector background. I hold Diploma Level 5 in Health and Social Care. I am passionate about care and dedicated to providing a high-quality service tailored to each person's individual needs. I am proud to be part of the Esher Team.

Starting out in the kitchen, I have been fortunate to build my career from kitchen Commis Chef to General Manager within four and five-star hotels in both the private and branded sectors.


Along the way I have been able to travel extensively both in the UK and Internationally, working alongside many creative individuals, teams and cultures. My journey has also included hotel openings, rebranding, concept development and major renovations.


I am now excited to take my next career step into the healthcare sector, something I have been considering since closing down Hendon Hall as a hotel and prior to handing over to Signature at the beginning of 2019, and know my passion for people, food and service will transition smoothly across from hotels.

I have worked as an Activities Wellbeing lead for 6 years, gaining experience of providing a holistic portfolio of activities.
My previous career within the creative sectors and education, have provided me with transferable skills for planning and creating activities, along with the people skills to build rapport with a diverse range of Residents.
I have a strong background working with Community groups, hosting inter-generational projects, and local events.


I look forward to building upon the existing provision of activities, and working with the Esher Manor local Community for new events and outings for our Residents.

Hi, I'm Iwona and I love my role as Dementia Care Manager at Esher Manor Care Home.
I joined the company in 2015, and I'm delighted to say that I work in such a wonderful caring environment.
My passion is elderly care, everyone is unique and has an interesting story to tell.
I always try my best to make sure that our Residents receive the best care and that all of our Team Members feel valued.
I am privileged to have such a fantastic team, making the environment warm and friendly, and a home from home for us too.
