Thanks for your review Linda. We're pleased your mum has been happy during her stay at Woodlands and wish her all the best.
Thanks for your review.
However, our experiences as relatives were not so sanguine. Firstly, the enquiries made into my aunt"s finances were little short of draconian and took a long time during which she paid at a higher rate. This was embarrassing and exasperating.
We thought it was all rather too "hands off" and we saw little evidence of real care. For example, my aunt waited a month for her pictures to be hung; in the end, we did it ourselves. When we visited no-one ever greeted us and the general atmosphere struck us as rather distant and unhelpful.
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry you feel this way about the service. As you know, moving to a care home is a big decision and it is our policy, as it is for many other care providers, to do an independent financial check to make sure our fees are affordable over the longer term. Personal financial details are kept confidential. We do this check, which usually only takes a few days, for the wellbeing of the resident, ensuring they can have continuous care.
We are a not for profit organisation, so we reinvest our annual surplus back into our properties to continue to improve our residents’ quality of life, this sets us apart from other commercial care providers.
We apologise that it took a while to get our handyman to hang your aunt’s pictures, and we will work to improve on this service. Settling residents into their new home is a priority and we want them to feel as homely as possible, which is why we encourage residents to bring their own furniture and furnishings.
We pride ourselves in delivering excellent customer service and friendliness and your feedback with regards to our staff and atmosphere at the home is something we rarely hear. Again, we apologise that this has been your experience and we would like to reassure you that Woodlands has a ‘good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission.
Although your aunt’s experience living with us was positive, we hope you accept our apologies for your experience and thank you again for your feedback.
Unfortunately, unless things change dramatically, I would not recommend this home.
Thank you for taking the time to review Woodlands. We appreciate all feedback so that we can continue to improve the service we are providing to our residents, and look forward to discussing your comments when we meet.
I would like to take this opportunity to reassure you that all of our staff are fully trained, and will endeavour to respond to the bell as soon as they can. Our chef has received much praise for his meals, so we are sorry your father has not enjoyed them. I look forward to discussing this with yourself and our chef in further detail at our meeting.
Thank you so much for your review. We are really pleased your mum is happy at Woodlands.

Thanks for your review.
Thank you so much.
Thank you for taking the time to review Woodlands, we are glad your brother is happy there.
As for the location, Woodlands is nestled in a corpse of trees, far enough from the main road to enjoy the tranquillity. There is seating in the lawned area and a secure patio. One can relax on a sunny day watching the woodland wildlife. Care home costs are not cheap but Woodlands offers great value.
Thanks very much for your review Richard.
The room and bed are comfortable and I've enjoyed chatting with people here.
We're pleased you're enjoying your stay at Woodlands and look forward to seeing you again soon if you fancy another respite stay.
Thanks for taking the time to review Woodlands. We have recently recruited more staff and would welcome you to have a chat with our manager Lee if you'd like to.
Thanks for your review. We are so pleased your mother had a fun birthday and enjoys living at Woodlands.
Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are pleased that you are extremely likely to recommend Woodlands but are sorry you feel there is a lack of staff. We have recently increased staffing levels and we just want to reassure you that the CQC (regulatory body) are happy with our numbers of staff. We’d welcome a meeting with you to talk about this in more detail when you next visit.
The location, access and the general surroundings are perfect for my mother-in-law.
The staff, who are mainly local residents, are very friendly and efficient and their caring attitude is very apparent and applies right
Thank you so much for your review, we are pleased your mother in law is so happy at Woodlands.
Thanks for your review Jonathan. Getting our residents involved in our daily activities is a great way of supporting them to be physically and mentally active, as well as socialise with staff and fellow residents. We will see what we can do to encourage your friend to take part if they would like to.

I enjoy working at Woodlands, leading the team here and making sure residents have a positive stay with us. I am qualified and have a wealth of experience in the care sector and have worked at Woodlands for many years.
Woodlands has a very homely and friendly atmosphere, together we're one warm and friendly community.
"I joined in April 2024. My journey in the care field started in 2017, beginning with my BTEC in Nursing, which equipped me with a strong foundation for my career. Following comprehensive training in various hospital settings, including emergency, intensive care, and palliative care, I transitioned to roles in care homes. Starting as a support worker and progressing to assistant general manager back in Spain, I discovered genuine fulfilment in this environment.
Since relocating to the UK, I've served as a Senior Carer whilst qualifying as a Biomedical Scientist. What draws me most to working with older people is the profound sense of gratitude they express when receiving care and support. Witnessing their appreciation fuels my passion for this work every day.
In my role, I support the manager and team to make sure our residents receive the highest standard of care possible. I'm dedicated to providing compassionate support and assistance and fostering a sense of security and comfort for residents in our care."
I joined the Woodlands catering team in 2024 and I love seeing the joy of people eating my food and the benefits it brings to them.
It's great to see residents together in the dining room, socialising over my dishes and benefitting from a variety of homecooked dishes and a nutritious, well-balanced menu.
Hi, I'm Liz, I am the care home administrator at Woodlands and am often the first point of contact when you call or visit our home. I enjoy liaising with residents and their families and helping to make sure new residents settle in well. I often show people around the home, answering questions and making the transition to moving to Woodlands as smooth as possible. We look forward to hearing from you.
