Burleys Wood

It was a hard decision for my wife to put her Mother into a care home, but it was the best decision to choose Burley Wood. Carers and other residents have become our friends and support, but most importantly my mother-in-law is happy and enjoys all the activities/entertainment that is organised by the excellent team.

My mother-in-law has been living in Burleys Wood for 16 months and the love and care she received there is wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble for all the staff who are led by a very competent and happy manager and deputy manager.

My wife’s nan is a resident here and the management leads a great team. Working in social care myself, I trust in the service provided and see the care shown to residents.

I was transferred to Burleys Wood Nursing Home after 5 weeks in hospital. I was not weight-bearing on my right leg after a pelvic fracture. I was made welcome by the staff who were kind and friendly. The food was tasty. There were regular activities, probably aimed at the long-term residents but I enjoyed joining in. The 3 week stay prepared me for managing at home.

Staff were extremely supportive to me during the time my mother was having a challenging time with her dementia.

My sister was sent to Burleys Wood when she was discharged from hospital. We were all a little apprehensive, but the facilities, staff and her general well-being were of the highest care I have ever seen. She is very happy there and enjoys her food and the excellent health care she receives.

I have no hesitation in recommending Burleys Wood care home.

The home smells fresh and is very smart and clean. All the staff are caring and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble and senior management is well organised. They let us know if there is any change in Mums condition. If I had to go into care I would like it to be as good as Burleys Wood.

My mum has been a resident at Burleys Wood since May 2016 following a stroke that has left her bed bound and with communication problems. We are very happy with the care given so far. The staff, although busy at times, are always approachable and happy to answer any questions or concerns we may have. They have always treated mum with dignity and respect. Taking in her wishes at all times.

The home has a light and airy feel and always smells clean when you walk in. The rooms are a decent size. Mum's room has been painted and the floor replaced since she arrived. We were able to bring in her furniture from home and put pictures on the wall to make it feel more like home, which helped her to settle in the first few weeks.

Burleys Wood was highly recommended to us. So far we have not been disappointed.

My mother has been in the care home for nearly 3 years. Once you have signed in and go through the doors, you feel a warmth from the atmosphere and the staff. When leaving each time, I feel I leave my mother in a clean, happy and safe environment.

Mum originally went for respite and was so impressed with the staff that when permanent care was required, we had no hesitation in contacting Burleys Wood. The care manager instantly saw that we needed help, for mum to be a permanent resident. The care staff are helpful, friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much for them and mum has settled very well. My father is able to have lunch with her and we are able to visit anytime. I would not hesitate in recommending Burley's Wood to anyone.

My wife and I are very pleased with the accommodation and all the staff are extremely helpful and caring. We have no complaints.

The home has always put my nan's care at the forefront. The manager runs a well-led team who provide care with a personal and caring approach. Nan has been a resident for over 2 years now and she has been provided with stimulating activities and nurturing care from the staff. Any issues raised have been dealt with in a professional and caring way.

As my mother-in-law's condition deteriorates she requires more complicated care and assistance. The staff at Burleys show great patience and understanding of her needs and I feel very confident that she will always be safe and her wishes respected. The manager and staff are always available and willing to discuss any worries or concerns to put our minds at rest.

All in all, I have been very happy with Burleys Wood.

My grandmother has been a resident at Burleys Wood since February 2017. It was a difficult decision moving her into a home, but was necessary due to her health/mind. She seems happy, safe and well looked after and the team do a good job with difficult care at times. Overall we, as a family, are happy we chose this care home.

When looking for a care home for my 91-year-old Mum, I looked at many but as soon as I visited Burleys Wood I knew it was the one. It was the friendly and lively atmosphere. Burleys Wood is not just a care home for my Mum, it's a place the family can go and join in the activities and leave knowing that she is safe and cared for and certainly not lonely. The staff and other residents have now become friends to us.

My mother has been in Burleys Wood for six months. The standard of care has been excellent. All the staff, without exception, have been caring, compassionate, patient, kind, gentle - everything you need when your parent is vulnerable due to dementia. The carers have a hard task, but Burleys Wood seem to find the best of the best when it comes to staff. My mother is happy and content in the home and that makes me happy. A stressful situation has been made so much easier by all the wonderful people at Burleys Wood. I cannot thank them enough.
