Avon Manor is an excellent care home. The staff were very friendly and attentive. My father said he liked it there and it was a shame that he was unable to stay for longer. I'm sure he would have continued to have terrific support.

Dad has been at Avon Manor for 3 1/2 years now. He has ways had outstanding care. He is very happy there. The social media posts are greatly reassuring to myself and family as everyone always looks so happy.
Friends often comment on how well dad looks and we'll looked after.
He has never asked to go home from the moment he went in there.
The entertainment put on for them is so engaging and trys to involve everyone.

The staff are amazing and always happy to help. Couldn't recommend Avon Manor highly enough and I often do.

My Dad moved into Avon Manor in the middle of Feb 2025. In that time the manager and all staff could not have been more approachable or friendly. They have always taken the time to talk to me about concerns and my Dad's ongoing care. They are flexible and completely focused on keeping him safe and comfortable. So far I am extremely impressed with the facilities and the level of service provided.

Our dad suffers from dementia and had reached a stage where he needed full time care. We secured a place for him at Avon Manor, and we have been so pleased with the level of care, respect and engagement that all of the staff provide dad. They work very hard to make it the best possible environment. It is not easy but the team are caring, fun, and keep dad happy and entertained with a regular set of activities from singing and dancing to celebrations on significant days like Easter or St Patrick's Day. Dad is very happy, which makes us happy.

I cannot praise the quality of care that this care home provides enough. Having to move my father into full time care was a very difficult decision. We tried two other care homes more local to where the family lives, one with an outstanding CQC rating, but neither were able to provide the care my father so desperately needed and he became very withdrawn and unhappy.

Avon Manor were literally life savers, and I was even able to take him for day visits before moving him in. Since arriving last year, they really took time to get to know and understand him, and we are now so very lucky that he is back to being his happy, gentle and kind self. The team genuinely care about their residents, include them in all decisions and discussions, are gentle, patient and very kind and go way and above in order to provide person centred care for each of their residents. For the first time since his diagnosis nearly 10 years ago, I can finally relax and know he is being truly looked after.

We are extremely happy that our Aunt is a resident at Avon Manor. She has been here for five years now. We have complete confidence in the care that she receives. We are always contacted with any concerns. The staff have been very supportive and accommodating in dealing with both her needs and some difficult circumstances we have had. All the staff we have encountered from the management to the care staff have always been friendly, welcoming and kind. We have always enjoyed the events that Avon Manor put on for families and residents and love seeing the fun the residents have every week via photographs on social media. We would definitely recommend Avon Manor.

I couldn't wish for a better care home for our precious mother. She is so loved and well cared for, it's like an extension of our family. We know every resident and carer by first name and as a family join in with every activity. They are entertained, stimulated and get the best care from the best carers. Avon Manor is the best in Sussex.

I really appreciate all the hard work and care the staff put into looking after my mum, making sure she has as an enriching and active life at Avon Manor as possible.
My dad unexpectedly passed away so Mum was moved into the home at short notice. This was handled with professionalism and understanding of my circumstances which made that process easier to deal with. After a settling-in period, Mum has shown some really positive changes to her mood and she seems to really engage with all the amazing activities the residents are offered.

As I live abroad I don't get to visit her as much as I would like, but the staff are happy to ensure I get to speak to her on video calls weekly which are invaluable. I feel extremely comfortable that Mum is getting the best care possible at Avon Manor.

My brother came to this care home in December 2023 and has been kept busy since his arrival with listening or joining in with the activities.
I have been impressed with the way in which any agitation is diffused with calm words, humour and patience and with no lack of dignity all around.

The kindness shown and effort for birthdays and all the trouble taken to add fun into the days of celebration or marked days throughout the year makes the residence more like a "home". The staff are lovely and all so kind and cannot be commended enough. I feel we are lucky to have found Avon Manor.

My Dad has been a resident at Avon Manor since January after being at another home for the previous 3 months, the contrast is unbelievable. From the first visit, we were made to feel so welcome and I immediately knew this was where my dad needed to be. The staff and management are fantastic, so caring and engaging with all the residents. There are lots of different activities with regular posts on social media showing genuine joy. Each person is treated with dignity and as an individual, not as a patient or inconvenience. Avon Manor really isn't a care home like any other, it's a home that cares!

The care staff really do look out for Mum, they know her moods and how independent she wants to be. They know when to leave her alone and when to retry providing care.
Mum is chairbound now and doesn't like much noise and input and the team has found a great solution which means that Mum isn't isolated, the home has a "snug" where Mum can sit and this means she meets the other residents and can interact at a slower, more personal pace. It's a great compromise and I'm really pleased it seems to be working. It is another indication that the staff think of Mum as an individual and are looking for solutions to suit her personally.

I'm really pleased with the service and level of care that Avon Manor provides for Mum.

The feeling and atmosphere at Avon Manor is informal and friendly - just as it would be at home. Every single staff member we came into contact with was friendly and chatty. There’s also a high ratio of staff to residents so there’s always someone on hand should you need them. The smiling faces say it all.

My father originally went to Avon Manor for two weeks respite, but whilst there we realised that he needed full-time care. I cannot thank the staff enough for the love and care they gave to him, he was laughing and joking for the first time in years since my mum passed away. There were always activities happening and social events, I only wish I had gotten my father there sooner. All the staff and management have my utmost respect for what they do every day.

The manager was incredibly helpful in getting Mum into Avon Manor at short notice over Christmas 2023. She appreciated the urgency of the situation and did an assessment and admission on the same day.

Mum has flourished in Avon Manor ever since and has without doubt become the best person she can be, given her Alzheimer's diagnosis and the stage she is at. We look forward to visiting daily, and we are always made very welcome. It is clear that all residents at Avon Manor are cared for with expertise, compassion and kindness.
