I have to agree-the staff truly make the place. They always greet you with a warm smile, offer tea or coffee, and are incredibly approachable. Nothing ever seems like too much trouble for them.
A doctor has already visited my grandfather a couple of times and provided treatment, which reassures me that he's in good hands. The care home itself is undergoing some exciting upgrades, but it always looks clean and tidy. His room is relatively spacious, and there's also a comfortable sitting area available for visitors.
Over all I would highly recommend.

Each of our homes are pleasantly decorated, and can be personalised to your own taste. We have rooms available with patios leading to a garden view, with own ensuite toilet.
My name is Karen and I am the home manager at Church Farm.
I was born in Sheffield and knew from the age of 15 when I used to visit a local care home that I wanted to work with older adults. At 16, I joined the care home team and was fortunate enough to spend a few years with that particular organisation working in Mississippi, USA.
After marrying my husband, I had three children - two boys and one girl. Whilst my daughter was young, I attended college to gain my qualifications as I knew I would be returning to care later in my life. During this time, we had moved to Portsmouth to support our son as he had joined the Navy.
Over the next few years, I supported my husband in public houses and hotels around the country.
In 2002 I returned to care and was fortunate to secure a position as an assistant unit manager with Hampshire County Council where I spent 23 years honing my skills while progressing to operations manager, deputy manager and then registered manager in Denmead where I spent 7 years.
I joined Church Farm in 2024 and love the home from home atmosphere. I always strive to ensure all the residents receive the best possible care and feel safe and secure.
Outside of work I love spending time with my 5 grandchildren, who keep me busy and active. To relax I go to the Norfolk Broads where my husband and I have a boat called the Christine Ann, named after my mom. I love seeing all the wildlife and wildflowers and meandering along the rivers.
I live not too far away from Church Farm with my husband, daughter, son in law, granddaughter and two dogs, along with blended family at weekends. It can feel a bit like the Waltons but for me that’s what life is about, good times with family and friends making lots of memories and a job that I love.
Hello! My Name is Anu Yohannan, and I am a Senior Care Assistant at Church Farm Care Home. I have worked for Bupa since June 2022, and I joined the team on a Sponsorship Visa.
I was born in India and studied as a nurse. I chose to train as a nurse as my mother had been one and I saw how much enjoyment she got from her job.
I love my role here and being involved with the residents makes me happy. It was always my dream to come and work in the United Kingdom and I am so grateful for the opportunities offered to me by Bupa.
I have been incredibly lucky that my husband has also been able to come to the UK and was offered a position here at Church Farm as well.
Hello! My name is Warren Brewer, and I am the cook at Church Farm Care Home. I started working for Bupa in 2013.
I have worked as a host and a kitchen assistant and I have now progressed to my current role as a chef.
I applied for the job at Church Farm as my mum (and other members of my family) worked in care and suggested that because of my caring nature, this environment would suit me.
I love my role and enjoy making a positive difference in people’s lives. Every day I learn something new and look forward to hearing stories/life experiences from our residents.
Hello! My name is Kimba, and I am a black and white long-haired cat who lives at Church Farm. I was adopted by Church Farm after my owner sadly passed away in 2021. I spend most of my day on the sunniest windowsill or on top of a wardrobe ready to jump and land on unsuspecting carers.
My favourite hobby is eating and having lots of cuddles (oh and naps!).
Recently I have taken up my new role as the home administrator’s assistant and make sure her desk is ALWAYS clear so I can lay across it.
I live in the Marine Lounge so I am close to where the food lives, and I can get plenty of attention from EVERYONE who passes by.
Hello! My name is Alfie, and I am a black and white short-haired cat with green eyes. I was adopted by Church Farm after my owner passed away in 2022. My owner had previously worked as a hairdresser here at Church Farm before she came to live here permanently. Recently I have adopted a resident and I make sure he knows exactly when it is lunchtime! We have developed a special friendship, and both enjoy each other’s company. I live in the middle corridor off of the dining room so I can sneak extra treats!
You will usually find me outside or cuddled up with the resident I have adopted.
