My friend has been living at Dean House for a long time. The care is good & all the staff friendly and kind. My friend's needs are complex but they are well met. It is a pleasure to be welcomed as a frequent visitor.

I want to thank the kind, considerate, caring and compassionate staff of Dean House for making Dad's final days as happy as they could be. His lovely bay-fronted room off reception overlooking the front meant that he was involved in all the comings and goings of the home. Everyone had a kind word for him and he had a great relationship with the staff. The food and care was fantastic, and he loved being so close to the sea that we could take him down whenever he was well enough. If he could not be at home I could not imagine a more perfect, gentle and peaceful place to spend his last days. Also catering for all the family and my energetic great nephew when we can visit at all times of the day. Thank you for creating such a lovely place to spend Dad's twilight days. He was happy there.

Apologies for the lateness of this review, but I have only just been able to do it. Dean House looked after my dad until he sadly passed away. All the staff were so lovely, especially during Dads last 2-week journey when he moved to palliative care. I can’t thank them enough for the love and care they gave him. The team was so well led by the manager. The most thoughtful gesture was a lovely bouquet of flowers; which they sent for his funeral. A small touch, but so personal. Thank you all, and I am so sorry it had taken me this long to say it.

My mum was at Dean House for 2 and a half years and myself and family were very pleased with the care she received. The staff were friendly and caring towards her and her family and friends. I was a frequent visitor and saw them go the extra mile.
I was aware of many activities going on sadly mum was not inclined to join in. Staff were always very approachable.
At the time of her death mum was treated with dignity and we were supported with their kindness.

I was pleased we chose Dean House for mum and thank you to you all.

Both my mother and father were residents of Dean House for over 2 years until they both sadly passed away this year. The staff are so considerate to both the residents and their families. You feel that they really care and this is not just a job. The home is clean, the food is good and the residents treated with dignity. Dean House is located in a lovely location in East Preston. When my mum first went there, she was well enough to walk the short distance to the local Sea Horse Cafe and buy herself a hot chocolate or walk a few meters up the road to sit on the bench overlooking the beach. Dean House has a family like atmosphere, staff turn around is low so really get to know them. I can't thank everyone enough for taking such good care of my parents in the last years of their lives.

Review from Neil E (Power of Attorney of Resident) published on 17 April 2018 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Having found Dean House for an elderly gentleman that I had the pleasure of being acting power of attorney for, I have to say the care and personal attention given to this gentleman was above and beyond anything I could have expected. Nothing was too much trouble and he passed on very happy and surrounded by caring people who really did put his needs first.

I would recommend Dean House to anyone who has an elderly relative that is weighed down by the everyday issues at a time in their life when they need the help, in my case my friend could no longer cope physically or mentally with living alone and as much as me and my family and his neighbors could help, we could only ease a few of his worries. I would describe Dean House as a warm comforting and safe place that guided him through his later years.

A big thank you to all the staff and management at Dean House on behalf of me, my family and most importantly from my friend.
