Dovecote View Residential Home is a small, family-owned, family-orientated residential care home, that provides personal care for up to 35 residents.

Providing quality, compassionate care to those aged 65 and over, and also to those suffering with short-term memory loss and early on-set dementia/Alzheimer's, with a focus on person-centred, individualised care.

Situated in a rural community, close to the local church and travel links, Dovecote View is an ideal setting for those wanting to be close to the city of Chichester, but still live in a rural area. I have been in this care home for almost a year. The staff are mostly excellent. The food is first class, with a very good choice of meals. Activities are good and cater for most residents. Also, there are trips two or three times a month for residents who care to go. Overall I would give 95/100.

The home is very welcoming, warm and clean. All the staff are caring and friendly. My mother is mostly happy and although is sometimes confused, she likes the company. I wish there were more "hands-on" activities such as cards, art and crafty things.

All the well-trained staff are friendly and treat all residents with dignity and respect. Relatives are always greeted with a smile and a chat and staff are always available to discuss any aspects of their relative's care, be it personal, medical or dietary. Menu choices are wide and varied. All food
is prepared and cooked on site by a very knowledgeable team, with all dietary needs catered for. Activities are wide and varied, including outings and visits from a local primary school. A happy and caring atmosphere is always apparent, a real home from home. Sadly my Mum passed away in December but had spent 19 happy months at Dovecote.

Mum has been in Dovecote View for more than a year. The staff are attentive, caring, polite and the manager is an example to us all of impeccable manners and patience. The building is being updated but is modern, bright and spotlessly clean. The managers family are employed at the home which makes for
a cosy family atmosphere. Any concerns we have had have been dealt with sensitively and with every care for mums happiness. Mums health has transformed since she has been there. I would recommend this home it is outstanding.

Moving from one care home to another is never good for somebody with dementia but the 'homely' feeling of Dovecote View has made that transition easier for Mum.
The home is comfortable and the staff kind and considerate. The staff keep us well informed and we feel happy knowing she is warm and well

I have visited a lot of care homes and Dovecote View is by far the best I have seen.
The building sits in very pleasant surroundings and is light, well maintained and spotlessly clean. It is currently undergoing building work, not to cram more residents in, as I expect many care homes would but to
make it a better place in which to live.


This is a very well managed care home, where the staff are competent and kind, carrying out their varied (and, let's face it, sometimes challenging) roles with compassion, patience and good humour. Dovecote View is a care home which actually does care and I highly recommend it.

Although my mother's stay was short, she was shown the utmost kindness and care. The home is clean, tidy and the atmosphere welcoming. The staff were friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Her room was ideal, and definitely represented excellent value for money. We also appreciated the

My mother moved to Dovecote View in July, she has vascular dementia. The care and attention she has/is receiving is excellent. My mother was a resident of Dovecote view for 5 and a half years before her death there in October. Over that time her mental and physical health declined steadily. I found the staff to be very caring to my mother's welfare and made many extra efforts to accommodate her declining health. She was always
clean, well dressed and well fed. I was always impressed with how much the staff cared for my mother and how much time they devoted to her. Living in America, I was never worried about my mother's care which was a huge relief to me.

Talisa Challis

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2008

Since joining Dovecote View in 2008, I have progressed through the company to the role of Registered Manager, and have now completed my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care, and a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management.
I have been in the post as the Home Manager since 2012, and thoroughly enjoy every aspect of my role. I am responsible for the day-to-day running of the home and ensuring our residents receive person-centred, quality care.


I am very lucky to have such a hard-working, caring team around me for support, and I am lucky to have worked alongside some of my colleagues for many years.
I am passionate about giving residents the best quality care, and I believe everyone should be cared for as if they are an extension of their own family, if it's not good enough for your own Mum or Gran, then it's not good enough! We provide personal care for up to 33 residents, and the Home is very much a family-orientated, friendly 'Home from Home'. There are not many job roles where you can say you love your job, but I feel very fortunate to have progressed to a role that I love.
