Always friendly and welcoming to visitors and residents alike, the staff are caring and attentive at all times. Am pleased to have chosen Manorfield for my mother, always a difficult time when leaving your own home to live somewhere else, the move was made as easy as it was possible to be. The accommodation
is light and airy and always clean and everything is on one level, which is really helpful when mobility is an issue. An excellent choice.

Mother was very well cared for at Manorfield by all the staff. We are so pleased that we chose this residential home. I looked at many and this was so much nicer in so many ways. The rooms are really spacious and well-appointed, there is a variety of communal areas all different and light and bright.
The managers were so kind and efficient, with excellent communication. They have brilliant working relationships and support from the GP and community and dementia nursing service. Sadly Mother passed away at Manorfield but throughout this time, the care and compassion, dignity and respect afforded her was fantastic. Thank you to all the staff at Manorfield, we could not have chosen better.
Reply from Karen Stovell, Manager at Manorfield Residential HomeThank you so much for taking the time to review Manorfield. I am writing this as a visitor to Manorfield Residential Home. Over the years I have visited friends or relations in many homes and lately had cause to go to visit a friend in Manorfield, which is close to where I live. Never in my life have I found such a wonderful caring place - as noted in the excellent
ratings - congratulations!

Mum and Dad stayed at Manorfield Residential Home, following a brief stay in hospital, for a period of respite care.
The care they received was wonderful, especially for Dad who has early-stage dementia. The staff could not have done more to make them feel cared for and it was reassuring to the family
to know that they were being so well looked after.
When they need further respite care in the future we will definitely be back in touch.
Reply from Karen Stovell, Manager at Manorfield Residential HomeThank you for taking the time to review our care home. Husband and self-entered for 2 weeks of respite care. The home does not have double rooms. As a result, my husband (with dementia) was extremely confused about waking up and insisted he was leaving. (Impossible for family reasons). To alleviate the problem, a larger room was found and two beds were
put in, to act as a joint bedroom. The remaining room was turned into a sitting room. So in effect, we had a suite, although not adjacent, and he then settled down. Occasional nighttime incidents were thus able to be handled by my calling for help for him. I cannot praise the home enough for accommodating us in this way.
Reply from Karen Stovell, Manager at Manorfield Residential HomeThank you for reviewing our care home. I am glad that we were able to accommodate your needs. It was a pleasure to have you and your husband stay with us. We do have a double room which was being used as single occupancy during your stay but maybe next time you holiday with us the double room will be available for you and your husband to enjoy.

Mum moved to Manorfield at a very stressful, scary and painful time for Mum and me. It was just before Covid vaccinations came in and we had exhausted every way of keeping Mum safe at home. I walked into Manorfield and it was homely, comfy, friendly and, above all, clear that the staff really cared.
I have worked in care myself for 35 years and I knew Mum would be happy. She was. Mum had a stress related condition that cleared up as she was relaxed, enjoying herself and getting good food. I can’t praise the manager and all the team enough for the loving care that they gave Mum. Mum sadly passed away in April, but the team made what would be a difficult time for me so easy. Mum was treated with tremendous dignity. One staff member was brilliant at liaising with Mum’s surgery. What touched me the most at the end was the team all standing as a ‘guard of honour’ by the front door as Mum was taken into the care of the undertakers, I will always be thankful to the team for that memory.
Reply from Karen Stovell, Manager at Manorfield Residential HomeThank you for your lovely review. Your mum was a very special lady with a heart of gold, full of fun with an amazing character that enriched all our lives and kept us smiling with her dancing. We all have many fun, happy memories of Mum. Your support was very much appreciated, it was real teamwork and between us all, Mum was happy and we all adored her.

level of care has been very good.

My aunt has been in Manorfield Residential Home since last August 2022. She is 96 years old, has survived three very bad chest infections and Covid. This is only due to the wonderful care that she has received from the Manorfield staff. We were lucky enough to celebrate her 96th birthday with a family
party there which was encouraged by the staff.
Wonderful residential home. Cannot praise them enough. Thank you.

Manorfield Residential Home is a lovely residential care home in quiet, peaceful surroundings which I would recommend to anyone looking for this type of care. It is clean and well maintained with spacious corridors, and the fact that everything is on one level is a huge benefit. The home is well run,
and the staff are kind, caring and really responsive to individual needs. The team make every effort to treat people as individuals, respect their wishes and adapt the care plans and approach accordingly. There is no 'one size fits all approach', and they try to accommodate requests wherever possible. The transition to care home life can be very challenging, but the staff are very patient and understanding. The senior team are really hands-on and involved with the care of residents and is very approachable and open to discussion about all aspects of care. Visitors are made to feel welcome and that they can see their loved ones at any time. We are all very happy with the level of care provided.

My mum has been staying at Manorfield for a couple of months now. She settled in very quickly. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is lovely with a view of the garden and has a nice large bathroom ensuite. It’s perfect for my mum's needs; she is much happier than she was at home. It has
a lovely, calm atmosphere, and the residents have the freedom of choosing what they want to do in regards to staying in their rooms or going to the communal areas. She is very well cared after.

Mum’s first experience of Manorfield was a two-week stay for respite. The wonderful, warm, caring staff made Mum so welcome that she stayed! Three months on, Mum is an integral part of the ‘Manorfield’ family.
The welcome extends to all our family/friends and encourages Mum's socialisation by having
lunch or tea together.
We 100% recommend Manorfield.
I trust all staff to care for and treat all the residents with respect and dignity.

From the start of my husband arriving at Manorfield Residential Home, I have felt a very warm feeling of welcome, support and helpfulness from all of the staff. This has made for as easy a transition as possible, given the circumstances of my husband’s unexpected requirement for 24-hour help from care
staff. Nothing has been too much trouble for the staff to deal with and their communication has been excellent at all times. I cannot think of anywhere better for him to stay.

My father arrived at Manorfield Residential Home for emergency respite purposes to give my mother a 2 week break. Because the stay was last minute my father had not much time at all to emotionally prepare himself for his stay and he was somewhat distressed about leaving home and going into Manorfields
without my mother staying there too. The staff were simply incredible at helping my father settle and coped superbly well with his initial distress and missing my mother. The stay has turned into a permanent place for my father to live and he is very calm now and feels safe there and finds the staff to be very kind and helpful. He always looks immaculately turned out and is extremely well cared for. The staff communicate very well with us, are on top of all his care needs, and when he needs a dressing (his skin is so thin now it tears easily) they call in the district nurses to manage it. Our family are exceptionally happy that our father is being so well looked after. Thank you all!

My Mum didn't want to go to Manorfield but after two weeks in their care, she didn't want to come home. They had the time to give my Mum the attention that I can't. I wish that we could afford to let her stay there full-time as I think she would be far better off.

My father-in-law was with Manorfield for the last few months of his life, he was treated with such amazing care, compassion and kindness. I literally can’t thank the team at Manorfield enough. Unfortunately, we had bad experiences in other care homes and I am so relieved that we trusted the manager
and another lady with his final few months - you only get one chance to get that right and they went above and beyond. We never once saw him looking less than immaculate which just shows how much effort all the team put into caring for their residents. I work in care homes and so have the experience to be able to judge when a home is a good home Manorfield definitely is a great home which I would recommend to anyone.

A member of my family has been in the home now for about 6 months. I cannot speak highly enough of Manorfield in which she is treated, the care of the staff and management, the meals provided and the setting of the home, together with the upkeep of the grounds. She has been made to feel very welcome,

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.944)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.944) out of 10 for Manorfield Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.944 for Manorfield Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (270 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 286 Ratings = 4.944
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Manorfield Residential Home is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 28 registered maximum number of service users is 5.6, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
