My sister-in-law was in Scotch Dyke for two years and during that time she was very happy. She was listened to and her wishes respected at all times. The care she received was outstanding and she was very happy with all the members of the team looking after her. Whenever we visited we found the home
to be spotless and whoever was on duty to be friendly and welcoming. Without fail we were offered refreshments which was lovely as we had to travel for over an hour to reach the home. The home is situated near to where she originally lived which made it easy for local friends and neighbours to visit.
Scotch Dyke prepare and cook all meals and can provide meals suited to all tastes and dietary requirements. They bake a birthday cake for each resident's birthday and make their birthdays a special occasion for them. If I ever have to go into a care home I hope I can find one near to where I live which provides the same excellent service. I wish the home well.

Scotch Dyke provided fantastic care for our Mother in her last months. We loved the environment and the staff and could not have been happier that Mum was there. It is a smallish care home, the same team of wonderful staff work there, and they always asked what Mum wanted to do, and her care and wishes
were the priority.
We sadly lost Mum at the end of March 2023, Mum died at Scotch Dyke, and their care of us and Mum towards the end was exceptional. We miss visiting as we got to know most of the staff.
I would 100% recommend Scotch Dyke as a wonderful, caring care home.

My mother was a resident at Scotch Dyke from July 2022 - March 2023.
We were given a personal recommendation for Scotch Dyke and family members independently visited the home. All were immediately impressed by the home: by its ambience, the excellent state of the house and gardens but most of all by
the staff. This positive impression continued throughout my mother's stay. Her room was very pleasant, and she was able to move rooms at one point during her stay. The food was excellent, and plenty of tea and cake were offered to family and visitors! The communication between management/staff and ourselves was excellent. All the staff, without exception, treated our mother with the utmost kindness and respect throughout her stay. Whilst she did not engage in some of the activities offered, all the staff were happy to talk and listen to my mother, and they developed a very good rapport. The home is clean and well-maintained. The family felt reassured that our mother was in such a caring environment.

Scotch Dyke is an excellent care home.
When I walked into Scotch Dyke, I knew immediately that I had found the place I had been looking for. The manager and deputy made the whole process so smooth, from my first visit to the home assessment and then the move. They helped me and Mum through the whole
process, always answering my questions, reassuring us and listening to their advice and experience helped immensely.
Communication is exemplary, and we are welcome at any time. Every member of staff is kind, patient and goes above and beyond. I have sat and listened to the activities they have done, and the patience of the staff brought tears to my eyes.
Mum is happy and feels cared for and at home at Scotch Dyke.
The home is clean, Mum's room is wonderful, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. It is full of smiles, laughter and love. I have 100% trust in the care provided and am so grateful for the peace of mind they have given me.

Scotch Dyke is a magnificent care home, the manager and all the staff looked after my mother extremely well for 3 years and the whole family had 100% trust and faith in the care provided and always had peace of mind. All essential concerns, i.e. drinks and emergency bell being to hand for the resident
was ensured and the bell was always answered within a couple of minutes. The staff always kept the family informed when an necessary and never hesitated to call for a doctor if needed for which I am grateful. The food was nutritious and tasty and entertainment provided. My mother and I would like to thank all the staff for all they did for her.

Current Review Score: 8.2 (8.200)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.200) out of 10 for Scotch Dyke is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 5.000 for Scotch Dyke is calculated as follows: ( (11 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 11 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.2 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Scotch Dyke is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 registered maximum number of service users is 5. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 5 = 0.2

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
