I was admitted here after having several falls and becoming very confused. I have been treated with great kindness and have had no trouble with my forgetfulness. The regime is very liberal and easy to live with.
My mother lived for more than four years at St Wilfrid’s Priory and was very contented there, she often told me so. The care she received was very good, and during the final months of her life, when Mum’s needs were considerable, it was exceptional. Staff were at all times caring and compassionate towards her and supportive of me.
A minor issue at the beginning was dealt with swiftly. The staff were clearly upset that my mother in law had been distressed and were at pains to reassure her and resolve a difficult situation, above and beyond what I would hope for.
The food was excellent and certainly plentiful. The ‘maintenance man’ was an absolute delight and when her mobile phone charger was broken he organised another one on an online retailer for her. Her pre-assessment was easy and did not require vast amounts of paperwork.
Whenever I walked around the building I saw residents being well cared for if needed, and allowed their independence when appropriate. As a nurse of 47 years, I was very impressed indeed with the home.
My aunt of 104 moved into St Wilfrid's six months ago extremely reluctantly - having 'managed perfectly well' before. It took her a while to settle but she now tells me she is lucky, she has a lovely room and the food is excellent (though there is sometimes a delay in serving and assisting with cutting up food). And staff are extremely kind. The activities organiser tries hard to lay on activities which will catch the imagination of all residents even if they don't all engage as much as they could. If my aunt could wish for 'extras', it would be an opportunity for more one to one conversations with someone interested in her life story. She would love to have contact with young children, having been a Barnados nurse and nanny all her life, so I will be interested to see how the contact with the local primary school develops, and she loves it when visitors bring in their dogs. We are happy she is safe and well cared for.
I have noted that most of the staff have been there for many years which shows stability and dedication to their jobs, and the residents benefit from this.
The care that my mother receives at St Wilfrid's-Arundel Priory is terrific. She really enjoys her interactions with the staff and she is happy and healthy as a result. I would also like to say that the management of St Wilfrid's-Arundel Priory has been extremely supportive of not just my Mother but my brothers and I, by responding with sensitivity and respect for individual circumstances. The administration has acted quickly and helpfully to the many questions and queries I have sent them.
My mother has been looked after in an exemplary fashion. The staff are extremely caring and attentive, cheerful and very friendly. She could not be in a better place. The home is spacious and airy with beautiful grounds with easy access. Above all my mother is happy there and very appreciative of everything that staff do for her.
My mother has been in the Priory for six months. She has received kindness and respect from the staff and in return, she loves them all. The food is of an excellent "homemade" standard though it took her time to settle into the huge gaps between supper and breakfast. The laundry is beautifully done. The matron runs a happy ship. The laundry man comes instantly when required. The gravel in the car park is far too large and is impossible for the elderly to walk on or to push a wheelchair.
She was happy there afterwards and was looked after so well.
She was always clean and tidy and her hair was done beautifully, which was important to her as she was always particular about her appearance.
The staff always had her dressed and ready in her wheelchair, so I could push her to the pub for lunch which she enjoyed.
I am an SRN and was very impressed with here excellent care.
My parents have been at St Wilfred's for 10 months now and have received loved and care front he staff far beyond our expectations. My mother recently passed away at the care home and the way in which her final days were handled by the staff were exemplary. They continue to give my father wonderful care and attention at a very difficult time for him. They are Angels and should be recognised as such!
My knowledge of food and activities is limited, but when I had a meal there it was well cooked and nourishing and I know the are a variety of activities held inside and in the grounds of The Priory besides outside trips. My sister was happy there and well cared for.
Dad had been a resident for four years and had established a relationship of mutual trust and respect with all the staff.
He felt secure, safe and happy at the Priory.
It is a lovely home and the staff work so hard to provide an excellent level of care for all residents.
They always made him feel special and despite his many medical problems, nothing was ever too much for them to make sure he was comfortable.
His carers were professional and relentless in their efforts to ensure his needs were met by NHS link staff and hospice support in his final week. We will always be grateful to them.
The home was very friendly and welcoming and made the move into the home easy. They helped to personalise the (putting up pictures, setting up the television) room. The staff were always willing to talk about any worries about my friends care and health whether by phone or in person.
A wonderful, caring environment with a high degree of cleanliness and hospitality.
Being a vegetarian I am reasonably well catered for in a lovely environment with very amiable and friendly staff.
No complaints at all.
My dad has been very settled and comfortable and had fun and enjoyment though he is receiving end of life palliative care. He has been here for 6 weeks now and though he was only expected to be here a couple of weeks, he really picked up with the cheerful staff who he likes to have banter with. The staff are great and check on him, making him feel safe. All the staff have a good relationship with the residents and families.
In general, it's a nice place to live. Staff help me a lot, they are very kind.
This is a very friendly home. I am happy here.
The staff are very kind and friendly and I am very safe and comfortable living here.
I think it's a nice place to live. Staff are very nice and friendly and always help when I need help. Food is very nice.
