Brook House is a 35 bedded care home providing person-centred care for adults aged 65 and over, including those living with dementia.

Situated close to Cambridge city centre, just off Mill Road, the home is in an ideal location for people living in Brook House and their families to explore the historic university city of Cambridge and is easily accessible via public transport.

Brook House is divided in to four units over two floors. All rooms are single occupancy. Two premier rooms have been fitted with en-suite facilities. Each unit has a dining area, lounge and a kitchenette as well as bathrooms, shower rooms and toilets throughout the home. The upper floor is accessed by stairs or a lift.

My brother has been in Brook House for six months. I am pleased with the way he has been looked after. He has enjoyed the activities that they have had and has taken part in. He enjoys most of the food. I find the staff very polite, kind and helpful, also the management, and are always ready to listen to any concerns we may have.

I have found the staff and management to be very friendly and helpful every time I have visited. They are very attentive to the residents whom they know well and take their responsibilities seriously.

The rooms are clean and the food is of good value. They have addressed any request that I have had with alacrity and effectiveness.

The staff at Brook House continue to make Mum wanted and at home. She is in her second year now and feels content due to the care and TLC given to her by the management and all staff at Brook House, watching the hatching of the chicks was a great idea and created so much interest for residents, staff and visitors. Thank you Brook House Staff.

The overall care my mother received is excellent. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff are all caring, kind and understanding to my mother's needs. All levels of staff work together as a team.

Welcoming, homely environment with kind, caring staff (across the board) who are always sensitive to my Mum's individual needs. Really pleased to have found this special place and extremely grateful to all of you for everything you do.

Description:

Jessy joined Brook House in January 2013 as Deputy Manager and has been working for Excelcare since September 2005.
Jessy has an NVQ level 2 and level 3 in Health and Social Care and also has a Dementia diploma. Jessy is currently working towards a level 5 diploma in Management and Leadership Skills.
Jessy is responsible for the running of the home in the absence of the Home Manager.
