Home Meadow is located in Toft, a quiet village in West Cambridgeshire and has views across the countryside. The home offers a relaxing and peaceful environment, with many rooms having views over the grounds and beyond. The gardens are stocked with trees, shrubs, roses and bedding plants that provide year-round colour and interest, whilst large windows flood the rooms with light. There are also secluded courtyard gardens that provide a quiet sun-trap where residents can sit sheltered from the wind and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

This warm, bright and welcoming home offers both residential care and a day care centre. The home comprises four attractive wings, namely Snowdrop, Primrose, Fuchsia, and Bluebell. Each wing has its own lounge and dining area as well as kitchen and bathroom facilities. Bedrooms are spacious, well-furnished and decorated to a high standard and residents are encouraged to bring items of their own furniture and possessions to complement those already provided, and to make their room feel personal and individual.

Care staff are trained to the highest standards and chosen not only for their skills, but also for their warmth, friendliness and caring attitude. Staff are available constantly to provide professional care that respects the rights and dignity of the individual.

Residents are regularly assessed to ensure their needs are met. Appointments can be made with a visiting optician, dentist, and chiropodist. Home Meadow also has an in-house hairdressing salon that provides all the usual services plus manicures and hand massages.

Catering staff provide delicious meals and snacks throughout the day and special diets can be catered for.

The manager and all the staff have welcomed my dad with care, dignity, compassion and laughter as he has settled into life at Home Meadows. Everyone always has a smile and a welcome greeting whenever I visit. They are looking after my dad's health needs in an outstanding way and he has a clean and comfortable
room. He is enjoying the lovely food and all activities and socialising provided.

The care home is small and friendly. Carers are sympathetic and helpful but rather hampered by routine and form-filling. They always respond well to requests to help but do not always display initiative when personal care, for example, need attention. The laundry service can be something of a disaster
- items go there never to be seen again.

From day one, mother had care and kindness shown to her. All carers were very helpful with making her comfortable and all needs catered for. It was appreciated by Mum and the family.
It was nice to know Mother was in good hands when we were not there.

My mother enjoys free access to a variety of lovely gardens and the staff will always try to make her comfortable with garden cushions and a cup of hot coffee. The room is spacious with enough chairs for us to sit privately with her. She also enjoys all her meals and the quiz afternoons.

This is my last review for Home Meadow as my dear lovely mum has passed away. So this is a big thank you to everyone that is management, domestic, kitchen, maintenance, activities and carers. Each and everyone of you has provided the most happiest of homes for my mother. It's not just the care that
was provided but the little daily chats that kept mum going as staff went about their tasks. Home Meadow will hold a special place in my heart as it was a home that made mum happy, she felt safe and she loved nothing more than sitting outside in the little suntrap of a courtyard looking at her newspaper. Good memories for me now of mums last years, thank you so much to all at Home Meadow.

I was pleased that an appropriate bed was ordered for my mother as soon as she moved in so she is safe. The care home listened to us when we explained my mother’s needs.
The carers were kind and everyone was welcoming and accommodating.

My relative requires care due to her level of dementia. The staff are encouraging and respectful of her wishes and needs. They keep me informed of any unusual occurrences and include me in reviews of care. I am very happy with the way they look after residents; the thought, care and time go beyond the

The most important thing is that my mum is so happy at Home Meadow and she says the staff are wonderful and very caring, and she feels safe and happy. The staff are very accommodating and supportive whenever I need to contact them. For me the most significant change I have seen in my mum is that she

My mum was at Home Meadow for over three plus years. She was well cared for by everyone. Unfortunately, Mum passed away 14th December. The only complaint the family had, nobody told us how sorry they were for our loss. We understand due to the current situation they could not attend the funeral but
surely a card or floral tribute.

When Mum came to Home Meadow, it was without the support from family due to covid-19. So sad, stressful and distressing. However, all the staff made sure Mum had a lovely 80th birthday and subsequently, a kind, safe and happy place to stay. Mum's fluctuating needs have been met and every effort has
been put in place to accommodate friends and family visits/chats.

My father was a resident at Home Meadow during the very difficult time of covid restrictions. The staff could not have been kinder, more compassionate and caring, despite the very difficult circumstances. This was particularly the case during my father's last few weeks when they did everything possible
to care for him, keep us informed daily of his condition and went out of their way for him and us. We are extremely grateful for everything they did.

My friend was initially admitted to Home Meadow from hospital for two weeks respite care after falling at home and breaking her pelvis. It was agreed at the end of this time that she would become a self-funding resident. With each change of management the care improved and is currently excellent despite
the Covid virus restrictions. Not having been able to visit since March I really appreciate the regular update emails from the manager and the contact with the activities manager.

For anyone looking for a care home for their friend or relative, here goes... My father-in-law has been in Home Meadow since December 2016 and has never looked better! It took a good while for him to settle in and we cannot thank everyone enough for all the patience, care, understanding and the positive
approach that has been shown over this time. There are plenty of activities for folk to take part in - if they want to, and quiet spaces as activities aren't for everyone. Home Meadow make every effort to accommodate requests or suggest an alternative that works for everyone. Since March 2020 we have been able to keep in touch with my Father in Law - whether it be by phone, FaceTime or a socially distanced visit. Thank you, Home Meadow, for all that you do.

Before shutdown, the atmosphere at Home Meadow was always warm and friendly. Since March, the staff have made visits as pleasant as possible, and I am sure the residents still feel safe and contended.
