My partner went to Home Meadows 2 years ago.

A new manager has recently taken over and things have improved greatly. She is very caring, listens to your concerns and had made life much more comfortable for my 91 years old partner with vascular dementia.

My dad says the food provided is good and he always gets his second helping if he likes something served, particularly. All the staff are very caring and go out of their way to help him and me and to accommodate his special needs. The most important thing to me is they really take excellent care of him he is safe and happy at Home Meadow.

Home Meadow is very friendly and family orientated. My Mum was very happy and well looked after here. We were able to visit any time. All the staff were friendly and very efficient. Everywhere was clean and well organised. The residents have lots of activities and entertainments. The staff treat them as their own.

Today 30/3/2018 at 06.30 we got a phone call to say Dad was on his way to A&E again. This time for stitches to his face. Fell out of bed apparently. His bed is less than one foot off the ground and nothing to bang his face on!
Since being in Home Meadow he has been to A&E many times which is concerning us as to how this is being run, staff turnover is 60 to 70%.
This care home seems to cover up all the time and we feel lied to all the time. He is never taken out on trips and has to sit in a chair all day as he has lost the use of his legs and eyesight. His belongings are taken from his room on a weekly basis even though we ask to keep his door locked.
Our overall opinion is that if you are thinking of sending a loved one here you should think again.
2/10 is our rating for this care home and needs lots of improvement.

They asked us to take our first review down with promises of improvements. Unfortunately, this one stays.

The staff at Home Meadow are wonderful. They genuinely care and do everything they can to make the residents feel like they are part of a family home. I couldn't have hoped for a better environment for my 90-year-old Mother to be in, she has been there for 6 months.

Christmas is a special time at Home Meadow and the build-up has been amazing. There are Christmas trees and decorations everywhere and there have been countless entertainers and extra activities. Christmas Day was lovely and all the staff who were working were either dressed as Santa or one of his/her elves or were bedecked with tinsel. Each resident was given a gift from the home, it is the only gift my Mother commented on! The food was fantastic with every trimming you could think of, the chefs at Home Meadow are truly brilliant.

Whilst Christmas has been made really special for the residents the most important thing about Home Meadow is that the quality of care and the facilities is top notch every day.

The home in general and all the staff care for us all. They are always ready to help any time of the day. If you are feeling down they will always find something to cheer you up. This is any time of the day or night. Help and care is always available. Not a thing is too much trouble for the staff, they will always help any time of the day or night. For this I will always thank them. Thank you all.

Mum became a resident at the home in 2016. The manager was there to greet us and welcome us. Mum was helped and made to feel extremely comfortable by the staff who all came in to introduce themselves. The staff became special to Mum as their care and love were brilliant. It made Mum's days very happy. The respect and dignity shown by all in the last few days were especially thoughtful and professional, taking every consideration for Mum, giving her dignity to the end.

Home Meadow is a rural care home in very pleasant surroundings. The Home is comfortable and welcoming. The staff are extremely caring and relatives are always given access and kept informed. There are regular activities, including visits by pupils at a local school and a play group which meets at the Home every week. Food is freshly cooked on the premises and cakes are made for afternoon snacks. Staff work long hours but remain dedicated and cheerful.

My mother moved into 'Home Meadow' for a month after being discharged from hospital following a fall in which she broke her arm. My mother had been living in her own home for 50 years, but she was so poorly when she came out of hospital we, the family, wanted her nearer Cambridge, hence Home Meadow in Toft, as this was the easier for us to visit. However, her recovery at Home Meadow was so good that after a month she moved nearer to her home, so she is now close to her friends as well as her family. All the staff at Home Meadow from the Managers to the Carers to the Cleaners are warm, kind, helpful and endlessly patient. It's a very pleasant home in a pretty environment. There is an Activities Manager who organises all the activities; there is a visiting hairdresser, chiropodist and district nurse all of whom tended to our mum. And the food was excellent - my mum gained so much weight in during her time there. My overriding memory will be the kindness and compassion of the staff- they do an amazing job and I am eternally grateful to them for that.

I would say that I am very pleased with the level of care my mother receives at Home Meadow. All the staff are excellent but I would like to make a special mention to the Activities Coordinator, who keeps them all entertained and arranges weekly singalong sessions and other seasonal activities. The home is clean and there is a pleasant atmosphere. They can arrange things like hair dressing (mum has hers done once a week). All in all I am very pleased with Home Meadow.

Although we have not had a review yet, and dad has been unsettled the staff and management have been so kind, caring and reassuring to us as a family during this difficult time. The care staff keep us updated all the time either over the telephone or face to face when we visit. We feel dad is getting great care here.

My mother has been a resident at Home Meadow since August 2015, for the first couple of months she was not participating and was obviously not particularly happy. However with the care and compassion of the staff she is now a completely different person. It was wonderful today to see her singing along with the staff, laughing and clapping and really enjoying herself. Her appetite has improved and she is looking so well. This is all down to the staff!
