I feel very comfortable that my mother is looked after and cared for. The management and staff keep me informed of any situations and also updates if there is any problem.

Kind and welcoming environment and I highly recommend.

My friend was initially admitted to Home Meadow from hospital for two weeks respite care after falling at home and breaking her pelvis. It was agreed at the end of this time that she would become a self-funding resident. With each change of management the care improved and is currently excellent despite the Covid virus restrictions. Not having been able to visit since March I really appreciate the regular update emails from the manager and the contact with the activities manager.

For anyone looking for a care home for their friend or relative, here goes... My father-in-law has been in Home Meadow since December 2016 and has never looked better! It took a good while for him to settle in and we cannot thank everyone enough for all the patience, care, understanding and the positive approach that has been shown over this time. There are plenty of activities for folk to take part in - if they want to, and quiet spaces as activities aren't for everyone. Home Meadow make every effort to accommodate requests or suggest an alternative that works for everyone. Since March 2020 we have been able to keep in touch with my Father in Law - whether it be by phone, FaceTime or a socially distanced visit. Thank you, Home Meadow, for all that you do.

Before shutdown, the atmosphere at Home Meadow was always warm and friendly. Since March, the staff have made visits as pleasant as possible, and I am sure the residents still feel safe and contended.

My father was cared for at Home Meadow from December 2018 until his death this May. He was happy and well cared for during this time. Activities were arranged to keep him stimulated and occupied - including taking him swimming! As a family, we were always made welcome when we visited. During the last difficult months when we were unable to visit due to covid-19, knowing he was looked after and cared for made a huge difference to us all.

I can not praise this care home enough! My Nan has been a resident here for a couple of years now. The staff take the time to get to know each resident and make sure they do their absolute best to offer care and enriching activities to meet her individual needs. The management are always visible and recently took the time to sit down with myself and my mum (the resident’s daughter and granddaughter) to go through her care plan and find out about my Nan a bit more (she now sadly has dementia). A thousand star rating wouldn’t be enough for Home Meadow.

Mum has been a resident in the Fuchsia wing for almost a year now and although it took her quite a few weeks, if not months, to settle in, she's been very well taken care of throughout. If anything, her level of care has improved under the new management as of last December, for which I'd like to commend both management and staff, day & night, without singling out any one individual, as they have all worked in an exemplary fashion and continue to care for Mum to the best of their knowledge and ability. I recommend Home Meadow in Toft without any reservations.

I'm writing this review to explain and help others in making the right decision if thinking of choosing Home Meadow. My Mum is a resident in Primrose Wing. Mum is so very happy and very well cared for. The period I would like to write about is Christmas, and especially Christmas day. Reception was so pretty, decorated with a large Christmas tree. Christmas activities were so well planned so everyone had something to look forward to. I went to spend Christmas morning with Mum and it was such a happy atmosphere, carols playing, a member of staff was dressed as Father Christmas, handing out present to all the residents, lovely special gifts to them from Home Meadow. Well done to all the staff that were working Christmas Day, plus a really big special thanks to all the staff and volunteers at Home Meadow.

My elderly friend went into Home Meadow in early February this year (2019), at his own suggestion. He does not want to be in a care home because it represents his loss of memory and cognitive function. Despite this he has nothing but praise for Home Meadow, he says 'the grub is excellent' - and we can see how well he is eating - 'the staff are kindness itself', and we can see with what care and respect he is treated, and he finds his room homely and pleasant, despite his sadness at not being in his own home.

The staff are caring and do the best possible in, sometimes, difficult circumstances. (Shortage of staff at weekends doesn't make it easy for those on duty).

Mum seems generally contented. She likes being made a fuss of.

We have always found the staff very welcoming, greeting us warmly. They clearly all have a good relationship with the clients when we have observed them. We go to visit all times of the week (unannounced) and the clients are always happy and there is always a family feeling at the home at all times. A very well done to all the staff, they all work extremely hard to ensure everyone is happy. Thank you.

Comments for Dementia Area (Primrose).
Whilst the ratio of staff to residents is complied with, an extra staff member would be useful to all.
Can more be done to reduce the smell of stale urine when you enter the area?
The staff know the personality of our mum, which is lovely.
The pictures on the walls and books etc give a homely feel.

The staff are very welcoming and definitely treat residents with respect.

Thank you very much for your feedback, the matter you have raised is in hand but as this has now been absorbed by the walls over the years it will need time to completely get rid of it as my Domestic Team tackles this. I know you visit often and I look forward to getting feedback as this will definitely improve.
