Overall Experience
My father was a resident at the home for just over a year before he sadly passed away this month. Living at a distance from him and choosing a care home for him during lockdown was difficult. However, I felt I chose very well with Primrose Croft. It wasn't going to be easy for him to settle into a care home, I was astonished at how quickly this happened. I felt this was down to the kindness, patience and care of all the staff, making him feel he was part of a big family. They made him laugh and nothing was too much trouble. Living at a distance they kept me informed of his well-being, facilitated me to speak to him often and when I did visit the staff were always very accommodating.

I will be forever grateful.

Mum has dementia and has only been at Primrose Croft for 2 weeks but seems to be settling in quite well. She enjoys the activities and especially loves singing. The staff are always happy to stop and chat about her progress.

Very happy with the care of my mum, staff are friendly and keep myself and siblings updated with Mum's care.

If Mum has any health concerns someone contacts me straight away, love to see via social media the activities that the residents have provided for them. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming, thank you.

My mum has been at Primrose Croft for just over a year now and it is no exaggeration to say that the loving care and attention she has received in that time has transformed both our lives. Mum lives with dementia, and although she inevitably still has her bad days, she is so much more relaxed and happier since becoming a resident. The staff are friendly, kind and welcoming and keep me well informed. Knowing mum is safe and so well cared for has been a massive relief after struggling to care for her alone while living and working at a distance. Having her so close by and seeing her so content means the world to us both. Getting to know the staff, other residents and their loved ones also make us both feel part of a bigger family. I can't thank the staff enough for all they do with such empathy, care and respect.

Our mum has dementia and has been placed in to the care of Primrose Croft, as we were struggling as a family, as Dad, who has been her main carer has been taken seriously ill. The staff have been welcoming and supportive. Mum now enjoys new friends and activities and has now become a more relaxed person, which is a relief for us all at a very difficult time.

I am very pleased with the care that mum is receiving. The staff are always friendly, which has made a difference in how mum is. She seems very relaxed and this obviously helped her feel secure, which is what she needed. Mum having dementia hasn't been easy living after the loss of her husband and a small friendly care home is just what she needed.

We are so happy that Mum is living in Primrose Croft. The care Mum has received has always been excellent, she is always well supported and the carers treat her with great kindness and dignity, we cannot praise the staff highly enough.

She, and we, feel she is very safe here and valued by all - care could not ask for more.

My mother was placed at Primrose Croft for two months following a hospital stay. I found the staff were very helpful 99% of the time. The stay was during the latter part of Covid-19 and we were only allowed to visit in the day room or to take her outside which wasn't a problem. My mother was given the opportunity to join in with many activities including baking, arts and crafts, singing and daily exercises. She was also taken around the grounds by the carer. Her personal hygiene and other needs were taken care of very well. My mother enjoyed her respite stay here and would have no worries about returning for another stay.

Review from Sean S (Power of Attorney of Resident) published on 7 December 2021 Submitted via Website

I have been extremely impressed with the care of a resident for whom I am the power of attorney. Every interaction with the carers has been positive and nothing is too much trouble for them. I am grateful to know that the home will contact me with updates or if they need input from me. That gives me confidence that the resident is receiving a high level of care and I do not have any reason to be worried.

My mum has been a resident for three years in Primrose Croft. The staff are amazing, they have cared for my mum so well, with love and attention, she wants for nothing. They have kept her safe through the COVID pandemic which we are so grateful for. Keep up the amazing work all of you, thank you so much.

My mother has been a resident of Primrose Croft since autumn 2000. Since this is entirely within the Covid era, we have had limited access to the home itself. We have however come to know many of the staff, both carers and administrators, and they have been excellent. They have coped impressively under extraordinary pressure during the pandemic. They have always been helpful and friendly and to the extent, we have been able to observe them with Mum, they have been very patient and kind. I suspect that when a parent first moves into a care home, most people are concerned and perhaps slightly sceptical, as it is not an easy time, but I am happy to say that we have come to trust that Mum is in good hands.
