Everyone I've spoken to is very friendly, my wife seems well cared for.
Next time we require respite care, we will ask for Primrose Croft.
Thank you.

My mother was placed at Primrose Croft for two months following a hospital stay. I found the staff were very helpful 99% of the time. The stay was during the latter part of Covid-19 and we were only allowed to visit in the day room or to take her outside which wasn't a problem. My mother was given the
opportunity to join in with many activities including baking, arts and crafts, singing and daily exercises. She was also taken around the grounds by the carer. Her personal hygiene and other needs were taken care of very well. My mother enjoyed her respite stay here and would have no worries about returning for another stay.

I have been extremely impressed with the care of a resident for whom I am the power of attorney. Every interaction with the carers has been positive and nothing is too much trouble for them. I am grateful to know that the home will contact me with updates or if they need input from me. That gives me
confidence that the resident is receiving a high level of care and I do not have any reason to be worried.

I have nothing but praise for the carers at Primrose Croft, they have welcomed my mother to their family. I feel my mum is safe, looked after, and most importantly respected. Oh and Mum loves the food there!

My mum has been a resident for three years in Primrose Croft. The staff are amazing, they have cared for my mum so well, with love and attention, she wants for nothing. They have kept her safe through the COVID pandemic which we are so grateful for. Keep up the amazing work all of you, thank you so
much.

I would like to say a big thank you for their devotion to their work and the way they have looked after my mother. She is very happy at this home and feels safe and well looked after.

My mother has been a resident of Primrose Croft since autumn 2000. Since this is entirely within the Covid era, we have had limited access to the home itself. We have however come to know many of the staff, both carers and administrators, and they have been excellent. They have coped impressively under
extraordinary pressure during the pandemic. They have always been helpful and friendly and to the extent, we have been able to observe them with Mum, they have been very patient and kind. I suspect that when a parent first moves into a care home, most people are concerned and perhaps slightly sceptical, as it is not an easy time, but I am happy to say that we have come to trust that Mum is in good hands.

Primrose Croft care staff and especially the deputy and assistant managers have made the last year manageable for my friend and I. They have gone over and beyond to make sure that my friend has been well cared for and stimulated with lots of different activities to keep occupied. They have kept her
safe and free from Covid-19. They have made it possible for us to communicate via video calling. This week I was able to visit in person and hold the hand of my friend, they were so professional and courteous as always. The service and care offered to the residents is fabulous. One of the best care homes I have experienced. Nothing is too much trouble for them and their priority is always the residents and their well-being.

Our Aunt Ursula has been at Primrose Croft for a couple of years now. They have always seemed pretty good; friendly staff, well-organised, flexible, etc. But especially during the pandemic, we have noticed how every effort is made to support the residents by providing opportunities wherever possible
for visits, window visits and phone calls and the careful passing on of presents and messages. This makes a big difference in that the residents actually feel well cared for and that in a difficult situation, things are as good as they can be. Thanks very much to everyone!

Home environment with very helpful, attentive staff who are always approachable and nothing is too much trouble.
The food was always freshly made with plenty of choices - even a named birthday cake on their special day.
When I visited, there didn't seem a lot going on apart from TV and their activity
board was very limited.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.797)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.797) out of 10 for Primrose Croft is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.797 for Primrose Croft is calculated as follows: ( (243 Excellents x 5) + (53 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 300 Ratings = 4.797
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Primrose Croft is based on 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 38 registered maximum number of service users is 7.6, which has been reached with 25 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
