Bilney Hall offers a splendid environment for gracious living. The Hall dates back to the 19th century yet its luxurious facilities are very much 21st century. Generous single rooms, all with en-suite facilities, are tastefully decorated and provide residents with the necessary facilities for a quality life in later years. The Home provides residential care for frail elderly residents and has separate wings for those with dementia. Although all rooms...

My dad has vascular dementia and was adamant that he would not go into care unfortunately that option was taken out of his hands and after two weeks in hospital and twelve weeks in temporary care Bilney Hall was recommended to me.he has now been living there since February this year and I cannot praise the home enough, nothing is to much trouble for the staff they always ring me if dad is not to well, they are kind and caring to him, this has given me peace of mind because I know he is safe and well cared for.

As a small family, we were devastated when we realised that my Mother in law needed full time care due to her deterioration in health due to suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's. Going to view homes was a terrifying ordeal as we knew nothing but thankfully, luck was on our side and we found Bilney! Upon walking through the doors, my Mother in law felt wanted and at home. This was nearly 5 years ago and the feel and quality of care hasn't changed.

All the staff take time and effort with the residents, whether they are carers, domestics or from the kitchen and that includes families too. Always well informed of any changes in care and any planned events. Care staff are polite and courteous, even at difficult times. The bedrooms are spacious and we were encouraged to bring in familiar items and photos to help make the move smoother, and they also have en-suit toilets too. Large dining rooms give a hint of what Bilney used to be. The Manager is always approachable and should be proud of such hard working and supportive care staff. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home and would suggest people go and chat to the people who live their as well as work there. Well done Bilney!

I am sure that selecting a Care Home for a close relative, in our case my 93 year old mother, is both a difficult and emotional event. My mother had to go into care in March this year after spending 8 weeks in hospital; until this time she had continued to live on her own with daily care attendance. She was adamant that she did not want this course of action but regrettably there were no other options. We visited and considered a number of homes in Norwich before finally visiting East Bilney Hall where we were immediately impressed by the facilities and caring nature of the staff; inevitably we considered the CQC report which put some doubts in our mind but we went with our instincts.

Mother finally died last week but during the 6 months she was there she received exemplary care and attention which far exceeded our expectations in view of the CQC report which was a testament to the Management and Staff. When the inevitable finally happened she was treated with care and total dignity. We would have no hesitation in recommending this Care Home to anybody.

Bilney Hall looked after my father for 2.5 years before his death in October 2015. I cannot sing their praises high enough! The staff were all caring, loving and professional helping my father's last years to be happy and contented. The whole atmosphere of the Hall is lovely.

“The quality of care is high, and the staff know the residents well. The main senior team have been long-serving and is passionate about the home and its residents.”

Her interests outside of work are Pilates and cycling. Her husband is cooking a Jamie Oliver 15-minute meal on a Saturday (usually takes 2 hours), and a weekend drive in a classic Alfa Romeo.

The thing Nikki most enjoys about working at Bilney Hall is working with such a great team.

I have worked at Bilney Hall for 11 years now. I started as a Carer, having worked for the domiciliary side of healthcare homes. Over the years, I have progressed through job roles, whilst completing additional qualifications. I became a medication assistant, then progressed to senior, the head of care and now deputy manager. In 2020, I also completed my nursing associate foundation degree.

“I decided to work at Bilney Hall as I had worked in domiciliary care, I wanted a fixed place of work where I could care for people and have a positive impact. My favourite part of my day is making a resident's day and being told you’re appreciated and loved, especially in these times where we are the only people our residents see on a regular basis.”
