Brooke House Care Home is available for 35 residents who require residential or specialist dementia care.

Brooke House care home is set in four acres of gardens surrounded by farm land, and provides care for 35 residents, including a wing for individuals who may need help expressing their needs, known as Brookefields. This wing has 14 rooms, and the remaining 14 single rooms and one companion room all have en suite facilities.

The spacious Edwardian home has an 'open house' policy which supports residents to maintain and develop existing relationships with family and friends, and welcomes visitors to become involved in the care homes activities.

Residents can benefit from visits from the home's hairdresser, library bus, chiropodist, art therapist, dentist, massage therapist, and village vicar. There is often a variety of formal entertainment in the form of singing, music and dancing.

Since the appointment of the new manager, the whole atmosphere has improved dramatically, including proper recording of visitors entering and leaving. I do feel that more could be done by way of mental stimulus for residents capable of benefitting from it.

I can't praise the staff more - mum is very happy and well cared for. There is such a warm welcome and lovely happy atmosphere in her unit. The lounge is a lovely sunny room and her bedroom is always very comfortable and clean.

I always find my father well cared for. He seems to be happy and I am pleased that there are various activities and entertainments that keep the residents entertained. My only real concerns are that sometimes other residents come into his room. One other concern is that sometimes his things have gone
missing and we have been unable to find them. Overall I am very pleased with the care my father receives.

I am 93 years old. I have lived at Brooke House for more than seven years. For all of that time, I have been looked after extremely well and I am very content with the care I received. Brooke House is a happy place and the staff are outstanding.

Since visiting my sister for several years, the home has got steadily worse. The management and staff are constantly changing. No activities to stimulate the residents, occasional events, but not enough. Residents left to sit on their own. The grounds are a mess. The gardens and patio are full of weeds.
The bedrooms are basic, with no comforts. Not a happy place.

Although we have seen some management changes, our core staff remain in post and they are highly regarded by residents and their families. We employ two activities coordinators and now Covid restrictions have been lifted, we are able to welcome entertainers and resume trips out.

The staff are kind and approachable. They have formed an excellent relationship with my father(his dementia makes him difficult) and they communicate well with him. One small niggle, my father's shower has been broken and unusable for the past two weeks. I would like this repaired asap, thank you. On
the whole, Brooke House is a caring, well-managed home with excellent staff.

My husband has been a resident for a few weeks. No concerns whatever around the care and staff attitude. One small complaint, one of his expensive hearing aids went missing, although I can understand how it can happen. Everyone is very nice and friendly and I am pleased that we chose Brooke House.

Dangerously understaffed, they cannot either recruit or retain staff, have no routine and seem to lurch from one disaster to the next. Very uncomfortable place to live, even for a short time. The food is absolutely awful, no nutritional value whatsoever, cooked badly and really inedible. The view is
nice but it really isn't worth staying somewhere that is a really unacceptable shared wet room.
My advice is to keep looking, you will find somewhere far superior to this home.

The staff are very professional and friendly. My Aunt is very well looked after and the staff make all the residents feel like family. They do lots of activities with all the residents to keep them entertained and motivated all the time.
I believe my Aunts happiness and well being has improved since
she moved to Brooke House and can't thank the staff enough.
I would highly recommend Brooke House and their staff and feel all the staff go above and beyond the role they need to do to make sure all the residents are well cared for and are looked after and happy.
The manager has gone well beyond her role with my Aunt and us with her support and care and I can't thank her enough.

My 91-year-old mother, recently spent 6 weeks at Brooke House, following a stay in hospital with Covid.
I was extremely impressed with the care they gave her. She was in need of assistance as she had been bedridden for nearly 2 months, but with their guidance, she soon resumed her normal sprightly
self.
The home was clean and the staff could not be faulted, showing a great degree of care, friendliness and efficiency. My Mum felt the food was both wholesome and appetising. Any questions from me were always answered promptly.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Brooke House and would be happy for her to stay there again if ever needed.

My Mum has been staying on a temporary basis for respite. The staff have been nothing but accommodating. Mum looks the best she has been for years. Her appetite has come back due to the lovely meals. She is settled. The staff know her well and are able to give detailed updates on events, her care and
needs. I have been able to relax knowing that she is stimulated and happy and enjoying her stay. She has been in very safe and caring hands. Mum has been in very safe hands.

I found the home ideal. The staff are very friendly, attentive and assisted my mother to settle down - in what is a new environment for her. They also help me with any questions I wish to ask. My mother enjoys the food and the personal attention she receives throughout the day. The management team are

Both my parents are in care here, my father due to his great age and my mother who has alzhiemers. All the staff here are friendly, helpful and very caring. The food is home-cooked and excellent with a choice each day. There is plenty of entertainment to keep body and mind active, overall I don't think
I could have found a better place for my parents.

My sister has been in Brooke House for nine months. The care she receives is outstanding and is always happy when we visit. Her husband was in Brooke House for three weeks before he passed away, the help, care and understanding he received in his last days were wonderful.
