From the moment I arrived everyone was very welcoming & friendly. my room suited my needs as I was there for 4 weeks for respite. The staff were kind & considerate & the hairdresser very sociable. The food was good, & hot. I have no reservations on recommending this home and will be going back for 2 weeks respite in the summer.
Thank you for your kind words, we're so glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back soon
Mum stayed at Cromwell House for respite after a fall. The moment she arrived was welcomed with friendly smiles. Cromwell House had a lovely feel about it. The food according to Mum was very good. Mum stayed for 4 weeks and the transformation on how she looked was so good. Highly recommend Cromwell House.
Thank you for your kind words, we're so glad your mum enjoyed her stay and look forward to welcoming her back soon.
Cromwell House is a friendly place wtih care and help when needed from devoted carer's. Sometimes the tea trolley arrives a bit too close to meal times. I invited two friends to stay with me and have lunch on day and was somewhat disappointed to find out the cost was £9.20 each! Thats without the wine!! A little steep.
Dad has been in Cromwell House for nearly 2 months. His care has been exemplary in every way and I cannot praise the staff more highly. They have looked after every physical need and everything is done with a smile and patience. Dad is very complimentary about everyone and also really loves the meals which he says are of hotel standard! This is a truly excellent care home and I am so delighted Dad is now there permanently. Activities are also lovely. He joins in everything he can.
Thank you so much for your positive review, I shall pass your kind words onto the team and I'm so glad he is settled in so well.
My stepmother has been at Cromwell House for 6 years. She has been well looked after by the staff. On the few occasions I have been able to visit I have found the staff very friendly and helpful. For her 100th birthday the staff made it a day to remember with food bunting and music.

Welcoming and friendly staff and residents. Interesting range of activities on a very regular basis. Traditional home cooking. Cromwell House feels safe and caring. Many staff have been there for years, which suggests it is a happy place to work.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review, I will share your words with the team.
Spending 6 weeks in Cromwell House after leaving hospital to recover from a broken hip. From day one I was given first class treatment & I could not have asked for more. Everybody helped me to get back on my feet. I am 90 years old & I was given the most wonderful time whist in Cromwell House. My 102 year old mother spent 6 years in Cromwell House so I knew the wonderful care I would be given. Fantastic staff.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your kind words. I am so pleased that your stay here was such a positive experience for you, and we all wish you all the best for the future. I shall pass on your kind words to the team.
Staff helpful and friendly. Good atmosphere in home and good accommodation. Been here before & liked it and came back again short term stay, recovery from operation. Food excellent & things, events to attend. Would recommend.
Mum is treated with dignity at all times. She is happy and is starting to make friends. She enjoys the activities and the 'social scene'.
A lot of weight is taken off my shoulders as I know she is safe and being well looked after.
Thank you so much for your lovely review and your kind words regarding our amazing team. We are really pleased that your mum is settling in well and that you can relax knowing that she is in good, safe hands.
During my numerous visits, I have found the staff to be friendly, attentive and courteous to the needs of my mother. The home has a good variety of activities planned each week and supports a program of church services. I get the impression that my mother is enjoying her time at Cromwell House.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I am so pleased that you have enjoyed your stay with us, it has been a pleasure getting to know you.
Music therapy only suitable for some.
I have had a stroke and can only use left hand so cannot do many crafts. I enjoy painting and use of desk in conservatory. I love the garden and views.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I have passed on your concerns regarding the poor internet to our IT department and will keep you updated. I am glad that you are enjoying continuing your artwork, whilst enjoying the views of our lovely garden.
Everyone is always very pleasant when we visit. In this modern day and age, I don't think the rooms are very satisfactory, and they are not en suite as the web site says they are. There is only a shower in the extension rooms, not the majority of the rooms.
Our Mother was a resident at Cromwell House for the last year of her life. She settled into life at Cromwell very well and appreciated the kindness and patience of the staff. She enjoyed the activities and learned carpet bow Mum loved to chat with other people and always found someone to talk to if she felt lonely. The staff were so helpful in meeting all her needs. Mum gradually deteriorated and the staff ensured she was always comfortable and pain-free. She died with great dignity and the staff were so attentive - they could not have had better care.
Thank you so very much for your lovely review. Your mother was a pleasure to care for over the last couple of years and is missed by us all. I will pass on your very kind words to the rest of the team.
My Mother stayed at Cromwell House for one-week of respite care. She was very happy with every aspect of her stay. We would recommend this care home, in particular for the caring attitude of the staff and the beautiful atmosphere and lovely garden.
The expertise and compassion shown, particularly by the night carers, at the end of her life were so important to us. She was treated with respect, even after death.
Thank you so much. It has been a pleasure to have known your Mother over the past 17 months. I shall pass on your very kind words to the rest of the team.
Cromwell House is a friendly, caring home with a lot of dedicated staff. Residents feel part of a family and are able to participate in lots of activities if they wish. They appreciate the Christian services of worship.
Thank you. I shall pass on your kind words to the team. We are lucky to have the dedicated team that you speak of.
After sustaining a fall and fracturing her hip my 86 year old stepmum was transferred from hospital to Cromwell House. The care and support she received was fantastic. All the staff I met were friendly and kind and seemed genuinely interested in the residents. Nothing was too much trouble. Management were awesome. Thank you so much.
I am happy and well settled in the home and it is a friendly and happy place to be.

Meet the Team (1)

Jennifer began her journey at MHA Cromwell House in 2003 as a care assistant, steadily progressing through roles including senior carer and assistant manager, before becoming home manager in 2008. While she initially hadn’t aspired to management, her passion for care and the supportive culture at MHA led her to grow into the role. Colleagues recently recognised her long service with flowers and a special cake, celebrating her commitment to the home, which offers residential and respite care for 38 residents.
Reflecting on her journey, Jennifer shared how a flatmate introduced her to MHA Cromwell House and how she instantly connected with its warm atmosphere. Despite early doubts about a management path, she embraced new responsibilities, drawing on her frontline experience to relate to her team and lead with empathy. The challenges of the pandemic further reinforced her resilience and sense of purpose.
