Dorrington House (Watton)

I had never been in a care home before when my mum was placed at Dorrington Watton with the help of social services. We quickly realised what a special place this is. It's been about 3-4 months now and twice last week Mum told us how much she loves living there. She never feels lonely and there's always something going on and plenty of people around her. I didn't realise how special all staff in care homes are, we visit mum nearly every day and all the staff interact with the residents like they are their own families. I could never do what they do, but I'm extremely grateful that they can and are.

All the staff at Dorrington House Watton are very friendly and caring towards the residents. I have never once seen them be anything but happy and attentive. I feel happy that any concerns I might have about my sister's health are dealt with swiftly. She is very happy there and likes all the staff immensely, she enjoys the trips out to the church once a week and there are plenty of activities for the residents to join in.

the home is very professionally run the staff excellent and very friendly the activities at the home are very good there is always something going on the food is well presented and mum seems to like it

The dementia care is top notch ,I can't recommend them enough!

I am pleased with our choice of carehome and I know she is being well looked after.

Enthusiastic, friendly members of staff are always there to help with dad, and they work so hard. They always let me know if there was a problem. They always say hello when I am there, which does mean a lot as dad doesn't like coming out of his room. So they always make time for him. Couldn't ask for anything better for dad, he loves it there.

Mums been at Dorrington House for over two years. While the decor may need some updating I can't fault the home and its staff, they really do care. We have worked together to settle mum and deal with any issue that arise's. For the first time in mums life she has a social circle the ladies in the Lounge are good pals encouraging each other in the activities. It's a joy to see them interact with each other even if some days they're muddled. They have a busier calendar than me!

If you're looking for a home for a family member which you can trust I would 100% recommend Dorrington House I'm kept updated. It's up to you on how much you're involved. I'm very involved and always feel welcomed no matter what time of the day I show up. They have nothing to hide the residents wellbeing always comes first. Well done Dorrington House.

I find Dorrington House to be an excellent place for my sister to be. The carers are excellent and very helpful, kind and considerate. The premises and bedrooms are all very clean. And best of all I am always offered a cup of tea "LOL". Overall, an excellent home.

Absolutely brilliant, wonderful staff who really go above and beyond,in the true sense of the expression. Dad is really happy there kept active and involved and always tells me about his new friends. He really loves the food as well and has put on weight (in the good sense) since arriving there. Thank you all so much.

All the staff are very friendly and nothing seems to be too much trouble. I had mixed emotions when we needed to find a care home for mum, we visited a few in the area and chose the Dorrington as it seemed so friendly and very welcoming, the overall standard of care looked to be very good, and we haven't been disappointed it been 4 months now and mum is very happy and has settled in very well.

My friend is being looked after well and over the months he's been at Dorrington, has accepted personal care that he wouldn't accept at home from carers or anyone else. There's a lot of activity going on, which is good to see even though it's not something he would want to take part in. I am a little disappointed that nothing has been done by way of a hearing test as his deafness is a further barrier for him. He's been referred but months have gone by since then. Also, I have been told about personal care provided in front of him, which seems disrespectful.

Dad was accepted with great warmth and kindness upon arrival at Dorrington House Watton. He settled very quickly and has really benefitted from the excellent level of care and the outstanding range of activities which are so important to keep him and all the residents stimulated and active in so many different ways. Not only that but he really enjoys all that is presented to him and it keeps him and so many others smiling! Thank you to the lovely team at Dorrington House

My dad has recently arrived at Dorrington House, and I have been so impressed with the standard of care and empathy that all the staff at all levels shows to my Dad. The improvement in his health and well being is amazing in such a short time, and continues to improve. Its a pleasure to visit Dorrington House and see the day to day workings of a busy environment which is second to none, the food and snacks served are a good quality and all areas of the house are immaculate.

The care team are always in contact with me and when I call for any updates whilst my Dad transitions into his new life at Dorrington House, I am always dealt with in a very professional and caring manner, nothing is to much trouble.

Mum has been a resident at Dorrington since April this year and I can honestly say I feel she is very well cared for. All the staff seem friendly and helpful. I like to attend any medical appointments with Mum and am offered this opportunity which I value. I am kept updated with important information and if I have voiced any concerns these have been noted and addressed. As someone who has worked in Elderly Care myself, I can honestly say Dorrington House is a lovely Care Home!

My mum is bedridden so she relies on the carers to provide her only interaction. My mum is always laughing, and teasing and is happy every day at Dorrington House. She has a smart video device in her room and often the carers help her play music or have a sing-a-long or sometimes other residents go in her room and have a dance. As her daughter, I find it reassuring to see her laughing and happy. The carers are amazing.

All the staff are helpful and happy on arrival mum always seems happy and pleased to be at the home there's always the TV on and background music to keep them entertained and I like the activity which happens during the week all in all a great place for mum to be.

Always find the staff kind and caring towards mum. The home is always clean and well-maintained. They go out of their way to entertain the residents with many things. Mum has been there for a good number of years and I am always kept informed of any issues with mum which they deal with speedily. A very good care home in my opinion.

As I am disabled I find it hard to get to be able to visit as much as I wanted but the wonderful people have put some things they have been up to on social media they pleased everyone who knows my husband to share his time there is so lovely we can see his settling in now and that's very comforting to know so thank you so much

My Dad has been a resident for the past 10 months and although it took a while for him to settle in everyone has been very kind and caring and helped Dad to feel comfortable in his new home. Dad now joins in with activities and especially enjoys the exercise classes. If I have needed to raise any matters with the management they have always dealt with them quickly and kept me informed where necessary.

Staff are great very attentive, and always happy to answer any questions we might have. There are activities and exercises most days including weekends, a good choice of food and plenty of hot and cold drinks, my mum is always clean tidy and happy. I like that the residents who are bed-bound or want to stay in their rooms do not get missed out and also can enjoy the activities, as the staff bring the activity to their rooms.
