I am forever grateful that we found Manor House for Mum when she was no longer able to live on her own. There was always a lovely, positive, calm atmosphere whenever we visited. Mum had a super room which gave her plenty of space but was cosy. It was always kept spotless and tidy (as was Mum!). Mum enjoyed being with the other residents and joined in the activities. She formed strong bonds of trust and mutual respect with the staff who were always welcoming at our visits (extending that welcome to visits from Mum's dog too). The standard of communication with the home was amazing, telephone answered within a few rings, feedback given in a timely manner following any medical visits etc. I felt completely confident that I was being kept informed about what was happening in Mum's life and knew that she was in very capable hands, receiving the best care possible. My thanks to the staff for their attention and concern, they increased Mum's quality of life for her last few weeks.

My Mum was given a room here while waiting for an assessment. The staff are all so caring, professional, kind and friendly every time we see them. My mum has been mostly happy and has enjoyed activities, especially a good knees up for Mother's Day. The place is always clean, and all the staff are friendly and happy to see us. They work hard but always have time for any questions or concerns we may have. Mum loves the salon and enjoys being out in the lovely gardens. All in all, a great safe place for loved ones.

My aunt went in for respite (albeit reluctantly) on 23rd December. When she went in she had a very negative attitude towards care homes and here we are in February and she is going to make it her permanent home.
I can only put this down to the excellent care staff and management making her feel so happy and comfortable. The home has such a welcoming atmosphere and everywhere is very clean. Speaking to other residents they all seem happy and content, they have activities every day if they want to join in.

I’m amazed at how well my aunt has settled in and is enjoying living there.

All the staff are so friendly and approachable, they are so happy and work hard to give all the residents care, love and attention. There is always a happy atmosphere and it feels like a family home. We regard ourselves very lucky that Dad is so well cared for and happy. We are kept updated at all times of his medical conditions and are reassured that he is always well looked after.

Thanks to all the staff.

Mum, who has dementia and limited mobility, was admitted to Manor House in April 2023. The decision to move Mum from her home of 35 years was one of the toughest and emotionally stressful decisions for our family. We needn’t have worried. Mum settled into Manor Lodge straight away, she was welcomed with open arms by all the staff, as were our family. It is obvious to us that she is very happy in her “new home”, she is well cared for, loved and has good social interaction with the staff and other residents. It is a joy to see Mum smile and tuck into the delicious meals and snacks that are provided. It’s not just Mum that Manor House interacts with, they have always embraced our family, and that is the essence of the excellent care provided, care for all. None of Mum’s requirements could be achieved without the amazing staff, they are a wonderful team and work so hard to ensure that Mum’s needs are met. Our toughest family decision turned out to be one of the best decisions!

I am very happy with the care that my beloved friend gets - every single time I come to visit her, I see her being happy, safe and well cared for. This is an outstandingly good care home in my opinion.

My 98-year-old mother has been living at Manor House for the past 16 months. During that time she has been continuously treated with courtesy, humour, respect and professional and caring support. She is safe and well looked after physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. She has developed a rapport with staff where she can laugh and enjoy their company. She is in the best place. All the staff are outstanding, especially the managers. I am made to feel welcome every time I visit my mum. The home keeps me regularly informed of any issues and I trust the team completely if any decisions have to be made. I can turn up unannounced and whoever answers the door can tell me exactly how my mother is and where I can find her. Manor House exudes a warmth and welcome to residents and visitors alike. I wholeheartedly endorse Manor

House and Lodge as an outstanding residential home that offers dignified and professional care for the residents. A massive thank you to all the staff.

Mum went into Manor House in December 2023 on respite care after a stay in hospital and has since decided to become a permanent resident.

During my visits, I have found the home to be warm and welcoming with cheerful and helpful members of staff who actively engage with Mum and have her best interests at heart.

Our Mum has recently gone into Manor House after receiving care at home 4 times daily for the last few months for her Dementia and Parkinson’s.
She seems really happy and settling well. She is enjoying the food and especially the activities as she likes to be kept active and busy. Mum and I find the staff are really friendly, helpful and caring. The home is very clean and tidy. The stress and worry Mum always had in her face seems to have disappeared and we no longer have to worry that she isn’t safe now she is being cared for at Manor House.

Thank you.

My mum came to Manor House in April 2023. Mum was an emergency admission and her dementia and other complex mental health needs meant she needed full-time care. Since she arrived she has gained weight (was severely underweight on entry), she smiles and laughs again, she has made friends and every now and then she has a witty comment to share also. Moving Mum into a home was one of the hardest decisions I had to make as Mum has always been so ferociously independent, and which home was even more difficult. A main point for me is Manor House doesn't use agency staff so all the team get to know the residents and treat them as individuals. For my mum, this has been so important as she doesn't feel safe around people she doesn't know/recognise. I am able to come and go (within reasonable daytime hours) so I can happily just drop in when passing or nearby. I have always found Mum happy, content and comfortable.

Manor House has been outstanding.

My Mother transferred from hospital to Manor House at short notice in December 2023. Initially, it was to be for respite care but after six weeks she decided she would like to stay as a permanent resident. We were so impressed at how hard the staff worked to help her settle into her new environment and even when she was finding the process of adjustment tough the staff were nothing but cheerful and positive with her. When I visit, every member of staff has a smile to welcome me and time to chat if necessary. The residents are acknowledged as they go about the home and everyone gets a kind word or a smile; the environment feels very safe, supportive and non-judgemental. The room has a small en-suite and is cleaned and tidied daily. It has a door directly out to a well-kept garden area. The atmosphere feels calm and relaxed and it is evident that everybody works very hard to make it feel as much like 'home' for their residents as possible.

Mother moved into Manor House in June 2021 when her dementia meant she could no longer be cared for at home by daily carers. I feel very lucky that Manor House had a room available for Mother at short notice and I cannot speak highly enough about the care home. The staff are wonderful and the accommodation is lovely, clean and well cared for. Mother's bedroom overlooks the garden at the front and the residents have a lovely lounge overlooking the rear garden which has a large patio and gazebo for sitting out of doors when it is warmer. Mother has benefitted enormously from a loving and supportive environment, a good routine and home-cooked food. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are invariably kind and cheerful. I live 150 miles away and can only visit Mother irregularly but I speak to various members of staff often they always make sure I am kept up to date with anything which affects Mother's health and well-being. A first-class care home which is very well run.

Everyone at the home has been so friendly and helpful, we really do feel that nothing is too much trouble and that the staff are going above and beyond in their care for our dad, the atmosphere is warm and inviting and we can see he is safe and happy, this has been a huge relief for us all as finding good nursing care for those with dementia can be difficult but we feel this home and the staff are the perfect fit for him.

Deciding on a care provider for someone you love dearly is not a decision taken lightly. After much consideration, we decided on Manor House and we did not at any time regret this choice for Mum's care needs. We were extremely reassured by the care, kindness, attention and professionalism which Mum (and we as a family) received from the amazing team of staff at Manor House. Mum had quite a few medical needs which needed monitoring and I was very grateful to be kept informed. E.g. with changes in medication etc. whilst at the same time being left confident that any actions that needed to be taken had been dealt with competently and efficiently by the staff. Mum had a nice sized room which opened onto a lovely courtyard garden area. Internally and externally the house and grounds appeared to be very well maintained, clean and hygienic. Activities for mind and body were incorporated into the day for those willing and able. I would certainly recommend Manor House to others without hesitation.

Mum's stay here was for around 18 months. Previously she had been cared for by a live-in carer, which worked well until mum's needs became too much for a single carer. Mum moved into the Manor House initially on a trial basis but it soon became clear that she was well cared for there and so this was switched to a permanent stay.
Mum had dementia as well as being visually impaired and suffered a number of other medical issues. She was well cared for and staff were always friendly. The room was pleasant and had a door onto a nice courtyard with flowers and seating. I joined the home's social media group and was always encouraged to see photos of residents enjoying themselves at the numerous activities that were laid on. Mum wasn't able to participate in many of the activities due to her poor eyesight but it was encouraging to see the friendly environment she was in.

I would recommend Manor House it's the kind of place I would like to end up in when the time comes!

My mother's stay coincided with Covid restrictions which was very difficult for residents, staff and visitors alike. Nevertheless, the staff were invariably friendly, helpful, competent and extraordinarily cheerful. Despite my mother's severe swallowing problems, she was well nourished and put on weight during the time she was there. Personal hygiene was very good; she was always clean and well turned out and received monthly visits from a chiropodist and hairdresser. I was informed of any medical issues and the cooperation between the home and the local medical practice was excellent. The management was well organised, and they and the staff went out of their way to celebrate such occasions as Christmas, Easter, Jubilees and birthdays. There is a nice garden which is a great benefit when visiting during the warmer months. Overall, I would strongly recommend Manor House and I have enormous admiration for the staff who have done a magnificent job in very demanding circumstances.

My friend enjoys the gardens at the care home and is particularly happy to spend time outside, with or without others. She is well cared for and supported to access medical care as needed. Her likes and dislikes are well catered for and I am kept informed of her progress and any changes in her health. Her room is lovely, securely opening onto the garden.
