The staff are extremely caring, attentive to the resident's needs, nothing is too much trouble. The environment is personal, family-friendly and the entertainment is fantastic.

When looking for somewhere for our mum, this was the fifth home we visited. Immediately we walked in, we knew it was the right place, homely, friendly and intimate.

We were right - nothing is too much trouble, food is good, plenty of attention and care and mum is enjoying it. She has even made some new friends.

The home has improved a lot since the beginning of the year and now feels much more homely and welcoming. The care staff are very kind and caring and I have noticed that the residents seem to be much happier and more engaged since the arrival of the two activity coordinators - they have really brightened up the days for many of the residents. The home is always clean and tidy and the garden well kept.

My mother has recently become a resident at Allonsfield House after a difficult stay in hospital. The staff at Allonsfield House have been absolutely marvellous at helping her adjust to her new home. The manager has gone out of her way to make this process as smooth as possible and my mother's carers are angels sent from heaven.

Allonsfield has improved dramatically since the CQC inspection in all areas. I was intending to move my relative to a different home but now there is no need as she is cleaner, better dressed and, above all, happier. I hope that these improvements will continue and I will be able to tick "excellent" in some boxes next time.

My mother has been here since February 2016 and I can honestly say that the home has always taken great care of her and the staff have always been lovely. The 2 new activities staff are absolutely brilliant. The only problem I ever had was with my mother's clothes going "awol" but this now seems to have been rectified. I always get a phone call if there is any problem, medical or otherwise, which is really helpful as I feel I am still part of my mum's life.

My wife has been in Allonsfield House for respite care on several occasions but now it is for permanent residence. It is a very friendly and homely, the staff have been so respectful and caring as my wife has lost her speech and has difficulty in communications. But the care coordinator is so brilliant in motivating my wife, it is such a calm and peaceful home and I cannot praise the staff for their care, kindness and attention enough.

First impressions say a lot and on a visit to look around the home we were impressed with what we saw. It had a friendly family atmosphere. From day one the staff and management made my father along with my wife and I very welcome and totally involved with the care my father required. With my father, having dementia, was not always easy to care for but the staff always maintained his dignity and were respectful to him especially in his final days. From what we noticed during our visits this applied to all the residents. We would like to wish all the staff and management well for the future of the home and would not hesitate to recommend the home to anyone looking for a care package.

Overall service very good. Staff excellent very caring, nothing too much trouble for them. My husband was treated with dignity. He looked a little unkempt when I visited but was very clean. He appears very happy and contented when at Allonsfield House and is looking forward to his third respite visit in a few weeks time. I sometimes think he is reluctant to return home as the routine at Allonsfield House and the fact it is a safe and friendly environment seems to suit him and stimulate him!!

I base my answers on what I see when visiting the home.
My main concern is the lack of activities that take place.

I would like to see more interaction with staff and clients.

I came in today to do my Nan's hair. The staff around that I saw, were very welcoming, chatty and friendly towards me and my nan. After doing my nans hair we had a lovely cup of tea and I feel that my nan is very happy and content and it's a lovely place to be.

We (the family) moved mum to Ashefield (being the dementia unit of Allonsfield) following the appalling care received in another home.
What a difference - she was wonderfully cared for. Particular care was given to all pressure areas and general skin care. The care afforded to the whole family was excellent. I was able to feel confident to leave mum in their care when I went on holiday for a month and had no issues at all on my return.

I visited my mother virtually every other day and feel confident in giving my opinion of care given.

I started my career in the care industry and soon realised my passion was nursing. I have acquired considerable experience working for the NHS in various positions as well as in private care homes. Since joining Kingsley, I have progressed from Clinical Lead Nurse to Home Manager at Woodbridge, before moving to Allonsfield. I love the support you get from a family-run company, and I am blessed with a great team. Outside work, I love reading and gardening and enjoy travelling.

I joined Allonsfield House in 2022 as a Care Coordinator, bringing with me a wealth of experience from a background in children’s fostering. My natural compassion, leadership, and dedication to person-centred care were quickly recognised, and I progressed to the role of Deputy Manager. I’m deeply passionate about delivering high-quality care and supporting both residents and staff. My fostering background has given me a strong sense of empathy and commitment, which I bring into every aspect of my role. I take pride in helping to maintain the warm, supportive environment that makes Allonsfield House such a special place to live and work. With a strong focus on dignity, respect, and individual well-being, I continue to support and inspire my team to ensure our residents receive the highest standard of care.

I have been working here at Allonsfield for 15 years as head of housekeeping. I am organised and efficient, and I take great pride in my work to ensure the home is clean and presentable at all times. I really enjoy my work and I love being here for the residents, not only to help make a difference to their day, but also to see them smile.

In my spare time, I like to cook, and I enjoy watching wildlife documentaries, especially if they involve David Attenborough.
