All staff go the extra mile putting the happiness of the residents FIRST.
The Home is completely safe, it is a 2 person operation to open the main door, with the 'button' hidden & not indicated in any way. There is no way a resident could escape.
There are no restrictions on visiting times, or numbers.
This is is the third Residential Home my husband has been in and at last I have complete peace of mind knowing that all his needs are being met, and in such an emphatic manner.

I just cannot praise this Home and staff highly enough.

My father went into Harleston House in February 2014 and past away November 2015. From the time he went in the staff were brilliant with him, and he was not an easy man to deal with. At the end of his life they gave him 24 hour care and actually the manager was with dad when he slipped away. This in my opinion was over and above my expectations of them. As an only son now 65 years they made my life easy because I did not have to worry about dad I knew he was in safe hands.

Harleston House looked after my mother for four years up to April 2015 and during this time also cared for my father for a period of about six months in 2013. The staff provided an excellent standard of care to my parents and also considerable support to the family - not just on a personal level but also in dealings with agencies such as Social Services and various NHS departments.

What they gave me and other family members was a feeling of confidence that our parents were being looked after not just in a professional manner but also by staff who genuinely cared. This eases considerably any anxieties family may have especially as many lived in other parts of the country.

In visiting my parents over the four year period I found the high level of care to be reflected not just in those employed as carers but in all staff whether they be management, on reception, in the kitchens or cleaning.

I would recommend Harleston House to anyone in the Lowestoft area looking for a high quality care home.

My mum has been a resident at Harleston Care Home for over three years, she has dementia and has been looked after extremely well by all the staff, who's care, commitment and dedication to their job's help her challenging behaviour and needs. The staff are always friendly and helpful and really seem to enjoy being with all the residents. There is a very enthusiastic activities team, and the food is of a very good standard. The home is kept in excellent order and is very clean inside and out. I feel very fortunate to have found such an outstanding home for my mum.

The staff really care about the individuals and make sure everything is okay. As soon as there is any issue with health the doctor is contacted straight away. The activities laid on and varied. The meals are excellent. I couldn't have placed my mum in a better place, it is comforting to know that she is safe and well cared for. The staff and manager do a terrific job and I would gladly recommend them.

My mother feels that she is being genuinely cared for, rather than being 'in care'. All the staff, housekeeping, catering, personal care and management demonstrate a positive 'client focus' which enables my mother to maintain her individual personality and sense of independence regardless of her increasing physical frailty and cognitive decline.

Mum has now been a resident of Harleston House for over two years. She has good and bad days in herself, however the staff handle her very well. She is always well presented, clean and cheerful. The room is well maintained, bright and fresh. She enjoys the activities which are provided and gives them all a chance to participate in a memory jogging experience. Highly recommended.

When Dad needed to be cared for outside his home we were naturally concerned about the quality of care we would find. After visiting several homes, we found Harleston House, and three years on, we have not looked back. The staff are kind and caring, keep us up to date with anything concerning Dad's health and welfare. They are quick to respond to medical needs, and ensure he is comfortable. The home itself is clean, smells fresh and is bright, light and comfortable. The team constantly tries out new ideas to improve the lives of the residents and the visits from their families, for example the 'Olde Worlde' tea room. Since the arrival of the new activities team, we cannot speak highly enough of the entertainment and activities on offer to the residents. Hardly a day seems to go by without us seeing lovely photographs of the residents engaged in fun, be it watching local children dancing, joining in a singing competition, or dancing the night away at the Christmas Party.

Dad is provided with a wide variety of home cooked foods, which always look appetising, and adjustments made to his care are made as his individual needs develop. He seems very very settled and happy in his own way, and we couldn't be more satisfied. Thank you so much.

When hearing a Christmas party had been arranged by a local hotel for the residents of Harleston House I wondered how successful it would be. However 36 residents were transported to the venue where they were entertained by a live band including singers, and fed a lovely buffet, their faces were a picture as even if they weren't able to join in the dancing, they enjoyed watching those that could. The carers were on constant watch to make sure everyone was happy. A minibus was there to return anybody who became tired before the time arranged to leave it was incredible I was really impressed.

My mother has dementia and Alzheimer's and when she entered home was in a very anxious, confused and stressed state. Harleston House staff understood her condition and settled her into the home within just days. The transformation in my mothers happiness and confidence was enormous and she is now content, happy, confident, chatty and feels valued and has a really good quality of life. The home organises many activities both in and outside the home, which keeps residents occupied, feeling valued and happy. It is the best home I could have wished my mum to be in.

After having inspected several care homes in this area we were recommended to Harleston House. The brochure seemed quite impressive and upon inspection we were delighted with what we saw. The building was in excellent condition in pleasant surroundings and entry area welcoming yet secure. Interior was spacious and well equipped with comfortable furniture and bedrooms en suite and spotless. Above all we experienced very fresh and sweet air everywhere! The staff have always been helpful and caring in everyway. Daily menus are provided in the dining room for each table and the food is very good. Visitors are always welcomed and refreshments offered. Regular activities are organised for the patients. Top class!

My mother became a resident at Harleston House in November 2007 due to her mobility and onset of dementia, her care was impeccable. She was treated with dignity and love right up until she passed away at the home in March 2013. My father became unable to remain in his home in March 2011 after a series of mini strokes and joined my mother at Harleston House where he still lives. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care and love they have both received while living there. The staff have become good friends and i can have peace of mind 24/7.
