I arrived at Hazeldell on 14th of February 2022. I had been in hospital for four months after having a serious operation.
O was confused, frightened and extremely unhappy.
The staff and management have with the assistance of district nurses have completely transformed my health and I am extremely
grateful to them all. I wholeheartedly recommend Hazeldell Care Home.

A well led home with caring, professional and competent staff. They coped with difficult situations well and the ability to access daily care notes gives relatives reassurance and the ability to raise issues with staff. The staff showed good flexibility in dealing with individual challenges. Some areas
would benefit from redecoration. Telephone and wifi communication is challenging in parts of the building and this technical problem should be resolved. Staff were however willing to use their own phones to maintain essential contact. Visitors are welcomed and helped. The staff are pleasant and open. Food is generally good. Good relationship with local GP practice. Activities for residents are engaging. Overall I was pleased with the way Hazeldell looked after my mum through a particularly challenging period.

My dad was originally sent to Hazeldell for respite care, some 9 months ago and has remained there since. He has received excellent care from all members of staff, which I know must be difficult and very challenging at times. All the staff are very helpful and cooperative whenever we visit and nothing
is too much trouble. The variety of food they receive is always very good and couldn't ask for anything more for my dad, as he seems to enjoy it. There's always plenty of activities also going on.
The staff from management, carers and catering are always very helpful and informative, so couldn't ask for anymore.

My mum has lived at Hazeldell since 2016. It is a very warm, friendly and homely environment. My mum thrives from the interaction with the carers which is wonderful. From a hello in the corridor to a cuddle and a chat in the lounge. The food is great. Communication from Hazeldell is perfect and I feel
they coped amazingly through the pandemic. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a small, more personal care home.

My mum has dementia and been a resident of Hazeldell for nearly a year now. From the first day she arrived, after having several falls, the care she has received has been wonderful. My mum has a light and pleasant room equipped with a trip and falls alarms. The staff work as a team and are always polite
and kind. My mum is in her 90th year and the 24/7 care she receives is of high standard, which I am personally grateful for.

My mum is a very recent resident of Hazeldell, and I can only say that it feels like she has come into a very caring family home. She is being so well looked after and is already thriving and looking happier than I have seen her in years.
I am truly grateful to all the staff and residents there for
their wonderful contribution to my mother's wellbeing. She is thriving and it's such a relief to see, as I live in Australia and can't visit.

My dad was there for three months until he sadly passed away and his end of life care was so good, they looked after him with lots of compassion and I thank each and every one of their wonderful staff. My dad had dementia and it was lovely to see him when he was first there integrating with the other
residents, the staff had him up dancing and made his last few months of his life more bearable than they would have been had he stayed living alone.

Very good care home. Freshly cooked meals with a wide varity of choice. Residents are welcomed to join in daily activities and lots of outside entertainment planned. The team care deeply about the residents. Great home.

We moved Mum from a previous home as she was not being looked after properly. We only saw her twice in 110 days. She was only out of her bed three times during her time there, and she would not have survived much longer. She has only been in Hazeldell since late February, and the change in her is amazing.
She is out of bed every day, trying difficult food, drins, using a walking frame. She is much more outgoing, and she communicates with us and the staff. This is all down to all the staff and management at Hazeldell. We cannot praise them or thank them enough, we have our Mum back. Thank you.

The care my Aunt has received has been very good since she moved to Hazeldell more than 12 months ago. The staff are professional and caring and are quick to respond to any requests we make on behalf of our Aunt. The home has dealt with the covid restrictions well and the level of cleanliness in the
home is good. As we live a distance away it is good that we can be confident in the care and attention our Aunt receives.

I have found the whole experience of using the care home very good they look after mum so I can feel relaxed as I know she is safe and well cared for. She always seems happy and if I do have a problem which is rare they sort it out quickly.

We have only praise for all the staff at Hazeldell. Such a loving, caring and dedicated team putting so much energy into all of the resident's needs. The variety of food is always good and nourishing. The activities programme has plenty to offer if residents want to join in. Rooms and public spaces
frequently decorated and kept to a high standard. We have been involved with the care home for about 16 years and would not hesitate to be involved again if needed.

Whilst visiting my mother over Zoom over the last nine months, we have found the staff amiable and caring. They preserve high standards of hygiene in this time of the pandemic. My mother is treated with sensitivity and enjoys banter and to-and-fro with the staff. She seems to be in the happiest state
possible during this long period of isolation.

My brother has been at Hazeldell for over a year now, (although because of lockdown, we could not visit after mid-March 2020).
He has been very settled and happy since soon after he arrived. The atmosphere is quiet and calm which is right for him, and the staff are always engaging with residents and
encouraging whilst allowing him time and freedom to do his own thing when safe (and he loves to wander.) He has been involved in countless activities and loves listening to music and dancing with staff, meeting animals and having time outside when the weather is good.
He has maintained a healthy weight and enjoys his food - especially the sweet puddings and cakes the kitchen makes!
I was worried when he was going into residential care but have had no concerns since he has been a Hazeldell resident. Sincere thanks to all the staff for the care delivered, especially during the Covid outbreak, keeping him and others safe.
I love the app too - I can log in and check what he's up to daily.

I am very happy that my dad is living at Hazeldell. The staff always treat dad with dignity and respect. With the Covid virus, I wouldn't want Dad anywhere else, and the fact that there have been no infections speaks well of management and staff. The staff have been brilliant looking after all the residents,
doing everything they can to keep the home Covid free. When I want to see Dad, staff make sure he is safe and maintaining a safe distance.

Both parents have been at this care home for around five years. The care is good depending on who you have as your key carer. Mum passed away in April and had mostly good care apart from one particular key worker who wasn't the best, but Dad looks well considering the situation we are in at the minute.

I highly recommend Hazeldell residential home. I would like to sincerely thank the manager and all of his wonderful staff for the love and care they give to mum every day, especially throughout the coronavirus, as these have been very difficult times. I know mum is very happy there.

I was a bit reluctant at first to move my auntie to the home but it has been the best place for her. The staff has been so caring, supportive, and chatty on visits, which you can visit as often as you like and when, and will keep you up to date with all information regarding my auntie. I can not fault
the home at all. On arrival, they wanted background information so they could chat about things my auntie would be interested in to support her on her transition from another home. Through the coronavirus, the staff keeps you up to date with everything going on making sure everyone is kept as safe as possible. Would recommend this home to all x

Emma Watson

Job Title: Care Home Manager Joined: 2017

Hello, I'm Emma and I started in care when I was 18 years old, this was due to my nan getting dementia and it inspired me to want to care for others. I began my career as a domiciliary carer working in people's own homes, to help them retain their independence by remaining at home. I worked in this role for 9 years before having a short break to have my children.


I then started at Hazeldell in 2017 as a Senior Carer, progressing into management in 2019 as a Deputy Manager, to then take on the role of Manager in 2021. Now as Home Manager, I strive to give my home a person-centred approach to care.
