Very pleased with the care and support. I have no worries what so ever how my husband is being looked after. He is very well cared for and very well fed and always looks clean and well dressed. Nothing is too much trouble when he needs the bathroom or anything else. They do their duty immediately I am happy and so is my husband.

I visit twice a week and I'm there for 2-3hours on each visit. My aunt has been a resident for 6 years. I have seen many changes at Hazeldell.
All the staff are always welcoming and polite, the residents are always looked after even though their needs are all so different. The staff always make time for the people who don't have visitors.

Residents are encouraged to eat and drink, which are always available. All staff have our relatives best interest at heart.

Very satisfied with the care provided, and especially impressed with a particular worker. She is patient, kind and has all the time in the world to listen and understand. Every time I see her with my mum I'm very satisfied in the way she deals with her, its lovely to see.

My nan is a resident at the home. She is very old and frail but loves were she lives. All the staff keep her family up to date with any changes etc. She is looked after in the most perfect way with patience and care. She recently had her 97th birthday with thanks to all the staff put a smile on a frail old lady's face. So all I can say is a big massive thank you for all the care that she's given.

From all her family.

My Nan has been a resident at Hazeldell since July. It's been a struggle for her but due to the patience and understanding of all the staff she has finally settled in. The staff are very approachable and always happy to discuss any concerns. Hazeldell is a very friendly place with a lovely atmosphere.

I am happy now that Nan is somewhere that I know she is being cared for and is safe.

Whenever I visit 'Hazeldell' I am always impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the welcoming atmosphere of the home. Staff are unfailingly polite and pleasant but never intrusive. I am always offered a cup of tea, and although it seems a small thing, this is very important, especially if one has travelled a distance.
The Manager or his Deputy is always available to answer any queries and nothing ever seems to be too much trouble for the hardworking staff.
I am a big fan of the 'Sparkle' initiative - it's an amazing idea and I look forward to seeing who is going to do something special next! This must take a lot of time, effort and fundraising on the part of the staff.

The home itself is really lovely and I especially like the farm area - the hens are real characters!

I always enjoy visiting Hazeldell because I am always made to feel welcome - never in the way. The home itself is very nice and the staff are excellent. I have seen the meals that are served to the residents and they look and smell very appetising. A really nice home. I would recommend it to any of my friends who need residential care.

'Hazeldell' is a warm, welcoming and friendly home. Whenever I visit the home it looks clean and smells pleasant. My friend is very happy and it is obvious why. The staff, including management, are friendly and helpful. I follow the home on FaceBook and there is always something interesting going on. I think that the new Sparkle idea is great - fantastic to think that even though people are now living in a care home they are still being encouraged and supported to fulfil their dreams!

Well done whoever thought of it!

My Nan has dementia and has been at Hazeldell for a few years now, since it became impossible for her to live independently. She is well looked after, and when I visit, I'm always impressed by the personal touches at Hazeldell. I also follow the home on Facebook and I love seeing the things they do for residents and families, the staff and management seem to go the extra mile. It's lovely to know Nan is happy and secure.

Compared to mum's previous care homes we find the staff at Hazeldell are very hands on, very helpful and friendly to our family when we visit and we have witnessed the compassion, love and care that has been shown to mum and all the other residents as well. The manager and his wonderful team have been great a support to mum and us.

Emma Watson
Emma WatsonJob Title:Care Home ManagerJoined: 2017

Hello, I'm Emma and I started in care when I was 18 years old, this was due to my nan getting dementia and it inspired me to want to care for others. I began my career as a domiciliary carer working in people's own homes, to help them retain their independence by remaining at home. I worked in this role for 9 years before having a short break to have my children.

I then started at Hazeldell in 2017 as a Senior Carer, progressing into management in 2019 as a Deputy Manager, to then take on the role of Manager in 2021. Now as Home Manager, I strive to give my home a person-centred approach to care.
