Highfield House offers short or long-term residential care solutions for a wide range of differing needs. Care plans are adapted to suit individual requirements and include care for Parkinson’s, palliative and convalescence care as well as care for the young physically disabled.

The interior of this converted Georgian property has a great deal of character, with two spacious lounges and airy dining rooms to relax and socialise in. Bedrooms have soft furnishings and there are peaceful countryside surroundings.

A nutritious food menu is put together using fresh local produce, with residents having their personal taste and diet assessed on arrival.

A wide range of activities and interests are made available to occupants, such as arts and crafts, gardening, quiz evenings, and movement to music. Regular outings and trips to places of local interest may also be enjoyed.

As a frequent visitor (usually 3-4 times weekly) to Highfield, I have seen consistently excellent standards of warmth and empathy - i.e. real caring. Since my mother entered the home in May 2015, the staff have gone out of their way to engage with her, listen to her, and address her needs and wants.
Even late at night, on the occasion I returned my mother to Highfield from hospital, we were welcomed with the sort of warmth and cheerfulness you would expect from a family. There appears to be a slow rate of staff turnover. This is very important for my mother, who is rather shy with new people. It also suggests good levels of job satisfaction. Many of the core qualities of Highfield will not lead to boxes being ticked during CQC inspections. But to my mind, they are far more important than the processes and protocols that determine the CQC rating. I would certainly recommend Highfield to anyone looking for a care home for their loved one.
