My mother has been a resident at St Joseph's for two and a half years. The atmosphere when you go in it's welcoming and friendly for visitor and relatives alike. The staff are attentive, caring, always helpful and engage well with the residents. I am always informed in any changes in my mothers medication etc. St Joseph's has enabled me to have peace of mind, knowing that my mother is so well looked after.

St Joseph's cared for my late mother for over 2 years, when she developed vascular dementia at the age of 79 years. St Joseph's were absolutely wonderful in the way they cared for my mother. At all times they were compassionate and kind and couldn't do enough for my mother. The standard of food was excellent in my mother's final days, all the staff were wonderful and couldn't fault them. The manager runs a tight and happy ship and I can honestly say the standard of care was second to none. A first rate care home and deserves to be rewarded for it's outstanding performance.

St Joseph's and its excellent staff played an integral part with our family to ensure my mum was as happy and contented as possible. There support to us as a family at the end of her life was exceptional a debt that we will never be able to repay.

My father has been a resident here for the last 18 months, my dad has been happy, safe, well fed and very contented whilst living here. He has had many problems but the staff have kept him happy, warm and extremely well cared for. I would not have found a better place for dad to be after the loss of my mum. I know my dad is treated with kindness and great respect and he enjoys living here very much. St Joseph's Home has taken so much stress off my shoulders too and I will always been thankful to all the wonderful staff there for their kindness and support.

This care home is excellent. The staff treat residents as their own, nothing is too much trouble for them. My wife suffers from LBD and has lived here for over two years and as her disease has progressed she has received ever increasing care. The food and activities are fantastic. I have no hesitation in recommending St Josephs to anyone.

Mu aunt chose St Joseph's Home when she could no longer look after herself and was there for approx. 8 months. She settled really well loved the staff and they were able to get her to do things I couldn't. The care and attention she received was second to none. We often describe St Joseph's Home as more like a good class country hotel than a care home. All staff are to be congratulated in making St Joseph's Home a great place to live. Aunty died quite suddenly and everything was dealt with in a very compassionate manner. Thank you St Joseph's Home.

The level of care is generally good. Staff very good, but feel there is a general lack in detail, and the overall standard needs to be biased, for example; furniture positioned better, cut flowers on tables, some rooms looking a little tired.

Whilst the place should always be homely, but could be more like a hotel, to reflect the amount of money we pay each month, for my mothers care. I do not feel we get value for our money.

On visiting St Joseph's I was always greeted with respect and kindness, my husband who suffered with dementia was lovingly cared for. The atmosphere of the home was welcoming - lively and cheerful at all times.

The sadness at the home of my husband's death was eased by the comforting and thoughtful, gentleness of the staff concerned. In my opinion the work load of staff in the Gainsborough Unit is excessive at times and would have been helped having more staff available to share the load.

Mum went to St Josephs from a 2 month stay at hospital, she had advanced vascular dementia, and was unable to walk unaided from the off, she was given a huge amount of care and support, was taken to the day room daily and encouraged to interact with the excellent staff.

Her care was beyond reproach, given much time by carers who were always cheerful. In her last week, she stayed in her room where she slipped away peacefully; the gathered family were touched by the compassion shown.

My mother has been a resident in the dementia wing of St Joseph's for getting on for three years. Her condition has deteriorated during that time making the job of caring for her increasingly challenging. Despite this the staff at St Joseph's have continued to give her unstinting care, always demonstrating the utmost kindness, patience and professionalism. They manage to create a truly family ambience, giving all residents a sense of security and belonging. They are also most welcoming of visitors making us too part of the community.

My mother was resident at St Joseph's for five years . The care she received during that time was second to none . Mum was always treated with dignity and kindness by every member of staff who collectively are a very caring and dedicated team. Our family were always welcomed with open arms no matter what time of day we visited. I could not recommend St Joseph's more highly.

My father was a highly independant 98 year old, St Josephs welcomed him as an individual having visited him prior to his arriving. From the start it was more like an hotel, the restaurant offered high quality food, the whole place was not just clean but always had a welcoming aroma with many extra touches, fresh flowers, water, regular refreshments, daily activities. He was treated with real care, respect, consideration, thought, and humour without any sense of being talked down to. So many of the staff went above and beyond their remit. Having told us that he did not want to go back to hospital, everyone ensured that he was cared for with dignity, with a level of care that ensured we were able to support his final days with the knowledge that he was in safe hands.

Having visited other homes, I can wholeheartedly recommend St Josephs, the whole ethos puts the Care into a Care home. I suspect this is because the manager, leads with vision, understanding and respect for staff and residents, which is obviously reciprocated.

I only have praise for the staff at St Joseph's, my mother is nearly 97 and they treat her with dignity. They pick up very quickly when she is getting a chest infection and act accordingly. The staff are generally always smiling and are always good to all the residents. I am extremely satisfied with the way my mother is being cared for.

My mother has been living at St Josephs for nearly three years now. It was her 97th Birthday on Sunday and the staff and chef did everything possible to make this a very memorable and happy day for her, my sister and myself who both travel long distance to visit our dear mum. We were given a lovely Sunday lunch and a special birthday cake for my mum. As we watcher her mental health progressively deteriorating we are touched by the respect and care given to her and to ensuring she has dignity and peace of mind as far as possible. I am very impressed by outstanding care and compassion shown to our mother.
