I always find the staff very pleasant and helpful. They manage my husband very well and I do know he can be difficult. He is always kept clean and tidy and speaks very well of the way he is treated by the staff.

My wife who suffers from physical weakness and dementia has now been nearly a year in Lilac Lodge. In the time she has been treated with care and compassion. The staff are lovely from top to bottom and a credit to Kingsley. I can come away from The Lodge knowing my wife is safe, warm and cared for. Well done to all staff at Lilac Lodge.
It is lovely to know that you are happy with the staff team at Lilac Lodge and that you have no concerns about leaving her in our care.
I visited my friend's mother today. I have visited her before at other care homes. I thought Lilac Lodge was lovely. It was so light and exceptionally clean, it had no smells and seemed to have plenty of staff who were very friendly and efficient. How nice to see older people in such a caring place. I'm sure my friend was very pleased to hear her mother was being taken good care of.

My dad came to Lavender Cottage in February. He has settled in well, thanks to the care of the staff who look after him. Nothing is too much trouble.
We are pleased that you are happy with the care and support that your dad receives from our staff team.
Dad came to Lavender Cottage on a week's respite, he went in not really with it and came out a new man, he looked so well for even just having a week of fabulous food, company, really well-looked after, staff were very friendly, could not fault anything.
Thank you for your very kind review. It is lovely to hear from families that they are happy with the service that we provide.
Nothing is too much trouble.
Mum's needs are always met.

The activity staff is amazing in ensuring no one is bored.
The food is incredible too. Another lady is very caring too.
I have nothing but praise for the staff, who are probably on a low wage but are always smiling and caring. They are a credit to your company. The fact the house is small helps make it more homely.
Thank you for your review. The staff at Lilac Lodge will always do their best to assist residents in settling into their new homes. Our activity coordinator is always busy planning new trips and looking at different activities to provide stimulation to the residents.
Always plenty of staff around. The entertainment for residents is brilliant, there is always something happening including trips out. My mother who did not want to leave her chair for the last few years, has since living at the care home, been on the back of a motorbike, on a boat, on a trip to an acquarium, and many other adventures. She is really enjoying life. We are so glad we chose Lilac Lodge.
Thank you for your review. We believe that residents should be given the opportunities to try new and exciting activities. It is a delight to hear the residents talking about their trips and seeing them smile.
Since arriving at Lavender Cottage, my mum has been happier and more cheerful than she has been for a lot of years. Thank you for looking after her.

Thank you to the whole team for doing an amazing job.

Very warm welcome on arrival, staff are very friendly and so helpful, received a cup of tea and a lovely piece of cake. The home looks clean and very tidy, lovely to see photos on social media of my aunt joining in and having loads of fun. My aunt always looks so well and healthy and would highly recommend it to others if they were looking for a relative. Such a lovely place, pleased for Aunty.
We are pleased that you felt welcomed when you visited the home. We are always looking for meaningful activities and we love seeing the residents having fun and laughing.
From the initial telephone call enquiring about a room, the follow-up care has been impeccable. The initial assessment was thorough and informative and was followed up very quickly about the availability of a room and he was moved in very quickly. We were able to plan ahead and with great help from a couple of members of staff moved his belonging before his arrival to ease the move on the day. Since arriving the friendliness care and empathy of the staff have been fantastic. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind review. We know that the transition to a residential home can be a difficult time for relatives and I am pleased that you were happy with the service and care provided.

Meet the Team (4)

My career in care started in January 2000 when I started working as a carer and then team leader in a Suffolk County Council Home in Lowestoft. Every day was different and I loved the satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of the vulnerable and frail people that I cared for.
I later became the manager of an older person’s rehabilitation unit and I worked in this role for 6 years as part of a multi-disciplinary team working alongside, social workers, occupational therapists and physiotherapists. When the funding ended for this service I became the manager of the Wellbeing Centre. This involved providing care and stimulating activities for older people and people with dementia.
In 2015, I started my employment with Kingsley Healthcare as manager of Lilac Lodge and Lavender Cottage.
I am proud to manage the home and the team that I work with. The staff are kind, caring and respectful to all residents. The home has a warm and welcoming feeling that is often commented on by families and visitors.

Kimberley Shaw is our deputy manager, and she started her career in teaching, switching to the care sector in 2015. She relishes her role working with both residents and staff.

I joined Lilac Lodge in March 2026 and have over 10 years of experience working in health and care settings, including 3 years in administrative roles. I enjoy the variety my role offers, as well as the opportunity to solve problems and support the day-to-day running of the home. What I enjoy most about working at Lilac Lodge is its warm and welcoming atmosphere. Since joining, I have enjoyed becoming part of a friendly and supportive team that genuinely cares about our residents. Outside of work, I enjoy baking and spending quality time with my family.

I joined the team at Lilac Lodge in March 2023. I have over eight years of experience working in residential care homes and feel I have the knowledge and experience to provide well-balanced meals and cater for the residents who have dietary requirements. The team at Lilac Lodge is very friendly, and my colleagues make me feel very welcome. I feel part of a team here and love working with everyone.
In my spare time, I love to travel to different places. I also enjoy trying different restaurants and cake making.
