Manor Farm Care Home in Kessingland, near Lowestoft, is situated near a beach.

The home offers short breaks, respite or long term care packages and also adopts a systematic approach to the requirements of each individual.

This small boutique care home has a focus on the individual being at the heart of everything they do.

Activities are offered 7 days a week that are tailored to the individual needs of the residents. The residents have weekly trips out and they love to go somewhere different every week.

Since my mother-in-law has been at Manor Farm, she always looks happy and contented. The only thing is as you come into the care home it's a stone drive and if you take Mum out in her wheelchair it's quite hard to push it, a path of some description would be good.

I recently stayed for lunch with my Mother then went for afternoon tea at a local restaurant. The staff are always happy and very helpful. I have an Aunt who has been a resident here for a number of years who my cousin and I visited regularly so when my Mother needed more care I knew where she would
be looked after very well.

We were invited to celebrate King Charles's coronation at Manor Farm. We had a wonderful day with Mum. The food that was laid on was fantastic, the entertainer that came was so good. As he sang to the clients their faces beamed, it was a joy to see. I did notice all the time we were there, there was
not one time the clients were left alone. Excellent. Thank you all at Manor Farm.

In my opinion, Manor Farm Care Home is a wonderful place. The staff are all friendly and caring. It has a lovely homely feel to it. My aunty is happy and knowing she is happy it makes us as a family happy. Knowing she is well looked after in every sense of the word. I could recommend Manor Farm Care

The home is like one big family with the staff treating the residents with respect but also lovingly and with great passion. Although suffering from dementia, Mum always seemed contented on our visits and we would be offered a cup of tea by the wonderful staff. I have absolutely no regrets about moving
Mum into Manor Farm and would recommend it to anyone with the need to find a caring home for a relative.

They treated every resident as an individual, tailoring things to suit them. There is no regimental timetable, if Dad wanted a lie-in, that was okay. Every day there is some form of stimulation. Dad could be awkward but they willingly dealt with his moods and gave him lots of encouragement. All the
residents were clean and tidy. The staff are very caring, friendly and welcoming. Dad really enjoyed the garden, trips out and entertainment. We had looked at other homes but I am so pleased that we opted for Manor Farm. Visitors were always welcome at any time.

My sister has been in the home for about 16 months now. As a result of her condition, she cannot communicate very well, and it must be difficult for the staff to understand her needs. I've always found the staff extremely patient, kind and caring to my sister, which is all you can ask for. They take
her to activities, and although it is hard for her to join in, she seems to enjoy the interaction. I feel the staff can't do enough for the residents, including my sister, and the residents all seem happy and contented, which gives great peace of mind to the family.

The care home provided excellent care for my 96-year-old mother. She was so appreciative of all the personal attention during her respite period and for 4 weeks thereafter until she passed peacefully at the local hospital. Thank you so much for making my mum so comfortable.

I couldn’t ask for a better place or staff to care for my nanny. She is constantly smiling, has made several friends and is always occupied with many many choices of activities. The staff always keep us informed and involved with calls, photos and videos. Considering my nanny didn’t want to leave her
house and go into care, she hasn’t stopped smiling since she stepped foot in Manor Farm. I cannot recommend Manor Farm highly enough.

My mother in law has been a resident at Manor Farm since February 2021. Through these very difficult and challenging times, the staff and management have all done their very best to ensure that the patients, their families and of course themselves remain safe, well and optimistic. Nothing is ever too
much trouble. Everyone who works there is committed to the same outcome, the safety and well being of the residents. Keeping the ‘troops’ entertained and well-fed paramount. Keeping family informed of their loved ones well-being spot on. We were all as a family concerned at whether our once fiercely independent Mum, mum in law and Grandma would settle into care home life. We are delighted to say she has done so and very well too and that has to be down to the warm and caring attitude of all the staff at Manor Farm. Thank you and well done.

It was very difficult for all of us when my lovely nan had to go into a care home especially during the Covid pandemic but when visiting and seeing the lovely residents and staff we knew she would be happy. Was so lovely to be able to visit my grandad again. All staff were very friendly and welcoming and it all felt very Covid safe.
Everywhere was extremely clean and the smell of home-cooked food was really nice.
The garden looked really lovely and a great area for the residents and visitors to enjoy.

Kylie Child

Job Title: Manager Joined: 2014

Kylie joined us in 2014 and was promoted to Head of Care in July 2019, having previously worked as care/team leader. She became Deputy Manager in February 2022 and was promoted to Manager in 2023. Kylie is responsible for the smooth running of the home and care staff development. When she isn’t at work, Kylie enjoys family time with her husband and two children. She particularly enjoys her time at the beach, even in the Winter!

Shona

Shona Boyle

Job Title: Head of Care Joined: 2008

Shona joined us in 2008 and was promoted to Team Leader in 2011, having worked here as a carer and activities coordinator. She became Head of Care in February 2022. Shona has also worked in Manor Farm's kitchen as a cook, and as part of the domestic team. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her partner and three stepchildren. Shona loves fishing and shopping and has a very musical background. She has a great interest in the royal family and sang to HRH Queen Elizabeth at Snape Malting.

Kate joined us in 2019 and this is her first position working in care. As Manor Farm's Administrator, Kate is responsible for our accounts and office management. When she is not at work, Kate enjoys spending time with her husband and two girls and she also breeds working Labradors. Kate enjoys walking the dogs with her girls, especially on the beach.

Lilli-Mae Aston

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping Joined: 2022

Lilli is the head housekeeper at Manor Farm. She joined in 2022 as a housekeeper and was promoted to Head Housekeeper due to her great working skills.


Lilli is passionate about her job and is also an infection control lead. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her horse (Seren) and going to the gym.

Nathan looks after Manor Farm's maintenance. He began working at the home in 2022, changing his career completely having previously worked offshore and in construction. Nathan's hobbies include golf and fishing, he also supports West Ham football club and enjoys going to watch them play.
