Montana Care Home is a residential and nursing home with strong values, allowing residents to choose their own way of life and personalised support.

They provide person centred care based on respect for human dignity and the personal development of each individual to promote a secure and loving family atmosphere and care for people, regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnic origin, nationality, colour, religious persuasion or belief, cultural or linguistic background, marital status, sexual orientation, or disability. They offer long-term care but can accommodate short-term care (including respite) when there is availability.

The Home is set in a traditional single-storey house, now extended to provide spacious accommodation in the very heart of rural Suffolk near the culturally historical town of Bury St Edmunds. They have accommodation for 19 people (16 rooms - 3 of them can be used as double rooms with en-suite facilities) and provide residential care of the very highest quality to older people (male and female) who are in need of care through frailty, disability or choice.

Friends and family visit at their convenience and are able to spend as much time with their relatives as they wish.

FEES
The Home charges the current rate of fees paid by the relevant placing social/ health services. For more details about fees and the methods for paying them, please see our separate Terms and Conditions of Residency (and Financial Agreement for Self-Funders).
Residents contributions to fees (or the full amount for some who self-fund) are usually collected by four weekly standing order. The fees are reviewed each year and usually change (subject to government guidance) each April.

Most people are eligible for financial assistance with their fees. This can be explained in detail by the relevant Social/ Health Services Department, but typically consists of a payment from Social Services
according to their assessments of their needs, with the remainder paid by you from your benefits or from your family
Other people have more than the “minimum level of savings” (set each year by the government) which leads to them having to pay the full care home fee (they become “self-funding”). For these people the NHS help by making a small contribution to fees.
Should your circumstances change, and you can no longer meet the full level of fees, Social Services will be contacted to assess your needs which usually culminates in them paying a finite amount, the outstanding balance being met by your family.

My father has been living in Montana for six months and is most content with his care. The sisters treat the residents with dignity, respecting a residents room as their own and always knocking before entering. I respect the safety and security of Montana, especially during this time of the lockdown
when visitors have been banned. The sisters have provided extra activities for the residents to keep them occupied. Overall, this is an excellent facility.

I am a retired sister of this religious order and I am enjoying my retirement as the Sisters and staff are very caring and kind. It is a well run home by the manager. I had my 90th Jubilee last August and all my family came to enjoy it. They are so pleased I am happy in my retirement life in this excellent
care home.

This is a well-run care home by the manager, sisters and staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The food is delicious and excellent. I have been given crosswords, word searched and colouring books to keep my brain active during this lockdown, which I love doing. I would recommend this care home
to everyone, and my family are very pleased and comforted that I am here.

I’ve found the sisters and staff to be very caring in the way they look after the residents at Montana Care Home. Activities are provided during the day that suits their interests and everything is done to ensure they are well looked after and enjoy their time there. I highly recommend this care home
as I know my aunt is very happy there.

My mother-in-law moved to Montana Care home in December 2016. The care she has always received and still does; is second to none. The sisters are extremely proficient and excellent at looking after her needs/medical care. Everything is attended to with compassion and tenderness mixed with good humour
and a sense of well-being. The awareness of community spirit and activities on offer to support this is very high, and a good mix of events is always being organised. With the current national crisis situation meaning our family visits are not permissible, we are kept up to date with regular video and phone calls so we can chat and keep in touch. The standard of care is very high at Montana, and I totally recommend the home to anyone looking for a placement for members of their family. Thank you so much. Bless you, all!

I came to convalesce and I was ill on my arrival which was recognised and I was signed on to the local G.P's temporary patients list and an appointment was given almost immediately and I was sent to the hospital for tests and admitted for a week. On my discharge, I went back to Montana Care Home where
a quiet, warm and lovely little flatlet/bungalow with bathroom, kitchenette and with a garden view on to open countryside through french windows, tv, dvd, cd internet/wifi. I was continually given many tasty and nourishing varied meals with tea and coffee breaks in the main dining room which has four tables each with four places. The food was prepared home-cooked each time in the adjoining kitchen and attentively and skillfully served, paying attention to each individual and their preferences. The atmosphere and company were calm friendly and caring with the other sympathetic residents. The meals were served with patience and concern for the diners.

I am in my 10th year here and thoroughly recommend this care home to people who come to look round for their relatives or friends. The sisters and staff are so loving and caring and they know each resident individually, thus knowing their likes and dislikes. It is like home from home and I couldn't

I came to Montana care home for a first visit for a funeral of a friend and was most impressed by the standard of the home and the genuine friendliness of the community and staff. I was impressed by the care that the residents received and the high standards of the refreshments provided. Since then,
I have visited the sister of a friend who is now a resident and have been delighted to see how she has been helped to settle in. The general atmosphere appears caring with attention to the individuals' needs.

Excellent practical care, considerate of the resident's needs and wishes. Genuine care and compassion is evident in both the sisters and the carers. Montana is part of the local community, which supports its fundraising events.
I think that the greatest recommendation that I can give is to say that
I am entirely happy that my mother is in the care of the sisters and staff at Montana. They are also very supportive of me during difficult times.
