Montana Care Home is a residential and nursing home with strong values, allowing residents to choose their own way of life and personalised support.

They provide person centred care based on respect for human dignity and the personal development of each individual to promote a secure and loving family atmosphere and care for people, regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnic origin, nationality, colour, religious persuasion or belief, cultural or linguistic background, marital status, sexual orientation, or disability. They offer long-term care but can accommodate short-term care (including respite) when there is availability.

The Home is set in a traditional single-storey house, now extended to provide spacious accommodation in the very heart of rural Suffolk near the culturally historical town of Bury St Edmunds. They have accommodation for 19 people (16 rooms - 3 of them can be used as double rooms with en-suite facilities) and provide residential care of the very highest quality to older people (male and female) who are in need of care through frailty, disability or choice.

Friends and family visit at their convenience and are able to spend as much time with their relatives as they wish.

FEES
The Home charges the current rate of fees paid by the relevant placing social/ health services. For more details about fees and the methods for paying them, please see our separate Terms and Conditions of Residency (and Financial Agreement for Self-Funders).
Residents contributions to fees (or the full amount for some who self-fund) are usually collected by four weekly standing order. The fees are reviewed each year and usually change (subject to government guidance) each April.

£ 1400-£ 1500 PER WEEK FOR A DOUBLE ROOM Single occupancy
Most people are eligible for financial assistance with their fees. This can be explained in detail by the relevant Social/ Health Services Department, but typically consists of a payment from Social Services
according to their assessments of their needs, with the remainder paid by you from your benefits or from your family
Other people have more than the “minimum level of savings” (set each year by the government) which leads to them having to pay the full care home fee (they become “self-funding”). For these people the NHS help by making a small contribution to fees.
Should your circumstances change, and you can no longer meet the full level of fees, Social Services will be contacted to assess your needs which usually culminates in them paying a finite amount, the outstanding balance being met by your family.

When you walk into Montana Care Home, you walk into a family home. The Sisters and staff make everyone feel safe, cared for and included. The sitting room is comfortable and relaxed and there is a well-stocked library.


The food is really, really good, and the atmosphere in the dining room is fun

and relaxed with lots of conversation.


Outings around and about Bury St Edmunds are frequent and well organised, alongside events at the home like the recent VE Day celebration party which was really well attended with residents, friends and sisters enjoying the sunshine, music and celebratory food and drinks.


The home has a beautiful rose garden to the front surrounded by a flowering rosemary hedge. Lovely, tranquil gardens surround the home, including an 600 year-old oak tree annd lots of wildlife, and there's a pretty courtyard in the centre.


Montana is a truly wonderful home.

It all started with a Oakampton house.
Mum lived there for two years and during that time she was always acknowledge by all this Sisters making it's a lovely friendly community.
When Mum needed more care I had the support from Montana. It was a very smooth transaction. From Oakampton to Montana.
The care for my mum is 24/7, and nothing is too much trouble. They have got to know my mum, her like and her dislikes, and it is a pleasure for me to go in and see her smile on her face, ever time l see her. She is very happy, calm and contented.
It has been a blessing in disguise that we had moved to Oakampton .
I myself enjoy my visits to Montana as they are all one big happy family every single one of them from the gardener to the manager.

The Sisters at Montana are wonderful and very caring, nothing seems too much trouble. They are excellent at keeping us informed and up to date with my father's care, often sending messages and photos which is great as I obviously have limited time to go to visit.

Nothing is too much trouble in assisting and supporting all residents. The care my Mother-in-law receives on a daily basis is second to none. She enjoys the daily activities with the other residents and the morning mass which she attends most days.Overall she is extremely happy living at Montana

I am a member of the clergy team in Bury St. Edmunds and several clergy from the Diocese of East Anglia, TR, MG, DH, have been residents at the Montana Care Home at Great Barton, Bury St. Edmunds.
I have visited the care home on many occasions throughout the year, and I have always been super impressed
at the quality of care, the cleanliness, the absence of offensive odour, the warmth of the staff and the commitment to the high standard as shared by the whole staff team. The staff training certificates on display, the availability of staff and staff the use of digital technology are evidence to me of investment by management and on-going professional development which gives me real assurance of striving towards best practices at the care home. I have felt re-assured of safeguarding and security at reception (signing in) and cameras in the corridors and identified safeguarding champion names and photos available for reporting any concerns I may have.

Mum has been welcomed so kindly to Montana. She settled in really quickly and immediately felt safe and looked after. Anything that needed to be clarified or sorted out has been dealt with promptly and the family are very happy that Mum is in such a friendly and caring place.

My mother had been living at Montana Care Home for over three years. The care she receives is of a high standard, generally. The staff respond quickly to my mother's changing needs. Communication between staff and family is very good. They are receptive to any concerns we may have about our mother's
needs.
We particularly appreciated the trouble that Montana took to take everyone to a nearby pub for a Christmas meal. Our mother really enjoyed that despite her disability and the fact that she had to be hoisted into her wheelchair. The sisters create a lively and inclusive community with a variety of activities for residents to enjoy. I would be very happy to recommend this care home.

I have visited Montana Care Home a few times and each time I haven't wanted to leave. It is such a warm and welcoming environment and the sisters and other members of staff are incredibly friendly and kind. The residents are given the most amazing level of care and compassion and the same is extended

I find that Montana Care Home is the best place for my friend to be. The facilities are top quality and kept up to speed. Regular outings in the community are taken and all care is on hand during these times. My friend is happy there which is the main thing for me.
