Review from Mary W (Sister of Resident) published on 26 April 2022 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

My sister settled very quickly into her new home, and her health improved very quickly. Both nursing care for her badly ulcerated legs and her general health, along with dementia care, her well-being has stabilised. When we last visited, bringing with us her son, who lives in Italy, we sat in the garden because it was a nice spring day. However, the seating was inadequate, and my sister's slippers were not suitable on the wet ground. However, she may not have wanted to comply! Thank you very much for your ongoing care.

My father has been a resident for a couple of years.
In that time and during covid hes been kept safe and well.
When he had problems not only was the staffs response instant, I was kept informed of what was wrong with him and how the problems were being resolved.

I can't speak more highly of them.

My mum was in your care for 4 years plus up to her recent passing in May 2021. I had and she had become part of a family with wonderful caring staff who I am so grateful to. I always knew I did not need to worry about her, so a big thank you.

My husband was moved to Nayland House from hospital in the midst of the COVID pandemic. Despite the difficulty posed by these circumstances the home and staff could not have been more welcoming and supportive.

Nayland Care Home provided my father with the care, support and assistance he needed for the last eighteen months of his life. The staff were warm and friendly and treated the residents with dignity, respect and affection. Thank you to the whole team, the management, office staff and carers for your dedication and support.

Very good.
Very clean.
Caring staff.
My mother-in-law was there for three years with a debilitating degenerative disease and staff were very good; with some almost becoming friends. They really looked after her and were sensitive when needed.

Excellent welcome every time.

My father deteriorated after a short stay in hospital. The care home were quick to provide a proper hospital bed and high tech mattress as he developed bed sores in hospital. The staff dealing with him were kind and sensitive to his needs. Gradually my father needed more and more care and they provided this as the situation changed. I also felt well supported during this time and the staff were professional and compassionate until the end.

Review from Carol R (Niece of Resident) published on 26 November 2019 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

The very high standard of care given to my auntie during April 2019 - October 2019 when she was in Nayland House was outstanding. My auntie was very weak and frail following an illness. The staff team were friendly, kind, polite, compassionate, respectful, patient and professional, just as they had been with my mum who was in Nayland House four years ago for a short time. This is why I chose Nayland House again for my auntie as I knew she would be well-cared for and without a doubt she was. The staff were always welcoming on our visits and always telephoned me with any concerns that they had regarding my auntie's health and well-being. The home was always warm, fresh, tidy and clean. I saw that the staff worked very hard caring for the residents and also to provide a homely environment. Our family cannot thank the staff enough for all their hard work and understanding right up until my auntie passed away at 93 years old. I highly recommend Nayland House.

Nayland House has supported my grandfather very well through his journey with Alzheimer's disease. As his needs have changed, the staff have adapted their approach in the best ways to ensure he gets the care he needs and throughout to remain as independent as possible. The staff have shown excellent skills and attentiveness.

As he is now at the end of his life and is now receiving palliative care. Manager and staff are fantastic.

Staff are friendly and happy. My grandfather-in-law always smiled and had a joke with the staff. He seemed very relaxed and at home here. The manager and deputy manager are extremely friendly and approachable.

Whenever we have wanted to talk to them, they have always made themselves available and supported us extremely well.
