Norwood

I am very pleased with the patient and supportive care that the staff at Norwood have given to my mother. My mother is very demanding in all sorts of ways, but the staff have stayed calm, caring and professional throughout. My father has been able to hand his 24/7 care function, which was quite overwhelming, to Norwood, and is happy that she is being looked after properly.

I have always found Norwood to be a very welcoming place. The staff are extremely pleasant, friendly and very caring towards residents, treating them with respect and dignity, The rooms are well kept, everywhere always looks clean, and well looked after. There are regular activities which the residents are encouraged to participate in and there are regular outings to such places as the seaside or meals in pubs/restaurants. All my mother-in-law's needs are met, and she is very happy and content.

This is an extremely well-run care home. The residents are well looked after and safe. If we have raised queries about our mother's care, these have been promptly dealt with and we have been kept informed. The residents are dealt with with care and compassion. All look well cared for.

I came to Norwood in July 2019. I am happy here, I find the staff and the residents friendly. Help is here when I need it. I enjoy the food and good variety. A good variety of activities, which I enjoy. A lovely garden to sit and walk-in, which overlooks the park.

My friend was admitted to the home on 17th Dec 18 after 2 very unhappy previous placements. I was really overwhelmed by the love and happiness that greeted us by management and all the staff. My friend is happy, well cared for, treated with respect and all requests from her dealt with efficiently. She has a comfortable, clean room which she regards as her home and has settled in well. The home is in a beautiful setting and is well maintained.

All in all, this is a very happy place to live and make it my home.

My mother was a resident at Norwood for the last six months of her life. The carers are excellent. Caring, gentle and sensitive. Her last few days at the end of her life she was treated with care and compassion. In fact, the care was superb. I could not wish for better care than they gave her. They were also very supportive to me and my daughter.

I am happy and feel safe. The staff are very good. I am looked after well.

My mother-in-law moved into Norwood at the beginning of September 2018. My husband and I have found all members of staff to be very friendly and helpful. They have greatly assisted in helping my mother-in-law settle into her new environment. She is very happy and content to be looked after so well.

I cannot speak more highly of the care my mother received over the years at Norwood. She had dementia and I was worried she would not settle away from her home, especially as she was reluctant to go. However, the staff were so kind and caring, even from the person who takes tea round to the management team. They also worked out strategies so that conflict was avoided when she did not understand. She wanted to walk in the park as she always had done, but when she was not physically able to do this so much, they called the garden the park and she was happy to be left pottering around the garden 'park', when she wanted.

Her last week everyone was amazing and mum definitely thought Norwood as her home and the staff as her extended family! She left us feeling cared for and loved!

This was a big change for my Aunty to be in a home, but she appears to have settled in quickly and well and enjoys living in Norwood. She has been there for almost 9 months now and the whole process has gone extremely smoothly - thanks to the help of very capable, experienced staff. Aunty recently celebrated her 90th birthday and she was treated like royalty, with a huge birthday cake to share with family and the other residents.

My sister has been in Norwood care home for the last 6 months and I have nothing but high praise for the home. i.e The care given to her by the staff and the good food. She also enjoys the freedom to be able to get into the grounds on nice days.

Norwood is a caring, safe and happy home in a lovely setting. Mum is extremely well looked after by the delightful staff and I couldn't be happier with the level of care she receives. A splendid place!

Our mother had been a resident for over 2 years and our experience of the care provided throughout that time has been excellent. The staff and management are always friendly - the medical team are also excellent in their care and support. The food is extremely good with menus frequently being reviewed to allow greater choice. I would not hesitate to recommend the home and care provided to others.

My wife is in this care home. The care is really first class. I have never found anything to complain about, quite the opposite.

My mother has been living at Norwood for more than five years. I never cease to be amazed by the quality of care she is given, even as her physical and mental condition deteriorates. I am so grateful that we found the best possible environment for Mum to spend the most difficult years of her long life. Thank you to all of the wonderful Norwood staff.

Norwood has been my home for 4 years to date and in all that time has given me comfort and peace!
