We feel that the level of care that Mum is receiving could not be bettered. We knew that Mum can be "awkward" at times but she is always treated with dignity, respect and an appropriate level of humour. She's always smartly dressed, clean and with her hair looked after. All the staff deserve the highest
praise.

Having gone into Ivybank House Care Home for a temporary stay five months ago, Dad soon decided that he wanted to stay permanently. He is full of praise for the care he receives from all the staff, their friendliness and the dignity with which they treat him.

Ivybank House Care Home has a homely feel with a constant buzz of activity. All the staff have been extremely friendly, helpful and caring. Transitioning my mum from Wales into care near me has been such a smooth process thanks to all the helpful staff.
Mum has settled straight in and loves the organised
trips out and stress-free living. Everyone who visits Mum is made to feel very welcome.
Knowing Mum is happy in a safe and caring environment and now close to me has given me peace of mind.

My mother has been at this care home for about a year. She has been treated very well. The staff are very helpful and supportive. There are lots of activities. She particularly likes the trips out in their own minibus. There are normally one or two of these every week.
The rooms are bright and cheerful
and have all the necessary facilities. There are nice grounds with lots of plants and trees which she enjoys going around when the weather is suitable.

My mother has been at Ivybank House for many years. From the very beginning, the care and attention has been excellent. The food has been of a consistent and excellent quality. The entertainment offered has always been fun, with a mixture of educational and historical projects. I often refer to Ivybank
as 'the fun factory', it's happy atmosphere is so good! All the staff, from management, carers, cleaners and chefs, should be congratulated and thanked for their combined efforts.

My mother-in-law settled into Ivybank House Care Home immediately. The staff are wonderful. Her appetite returned and she soon made friends and joined in the activities and excursions. When she went into hospital she said she was looking forward to going home and I asked her where she meant and she
replied Ivybank.
That was her new home and she could not wait to return.

All the staff are kind and welcoming. They look after Mum with sensitivity and give her all the physical, medical, mental and emotional support she needs. It's a joy to visit Mum knowing that when I'm not there she's being looked after and when I visit I can spend some quality time with her. She loves
the trips out and many of the activities. It really feels like her home which is extended to the rest of the family as well.

Since my mother-in-law has moved into Ivybank House it's given her a new lease of life. She's much more motivated and happier and now has a life amongst people who really look after her well.

My mother was brought to Ivybank House as she was so unhappy in her other care home. Everyone loved my mum, they loved her quirky sense of humour and banter. The staff were so kind, patient and considerate. Even though my mother was there only a short while, she was the happiest she'd ever been. They

My mum who is 105 has only been in Ivybank since July 12th. On the times I have visited mum the carers I have met all seem very friendly, caring and professional. Mum seems content and well cared for. Her room is kept clean and all smells nice when I enter the home.

I have been a resident in Ivybank for 5-months and am being extremely well cared for. I came here because I was no longer able to live alone (my husband is in a care home, but not this one). Until I am completely fit again, I shall continue to stay here where I am happy.

On a positive note - The staff here are all mostly very kind, caring and friendly. - I appreciate the difficult job that they do and carry out in sometimes very difficult and challenging conditions and circumstances.
On a negative note: I am alarmed at the length of time the lift has been broken
- since before Christmas - 52 days ago - and counting!
My father in law is in an upstairs room in a wheelchair and is now unable to access the ground floor. This is totally unacceptable. He now hardly leaves his room. It has and continues to have a detrimental effect on his mental and physical health and well-being. It is just terrible!
He can not eat in the dining room. He can not join in with any of the activities that he used to love in the lounge area downstairs. He can no longer socialise. Most of the time - day and night is now spent in his room.
How awful would we feel if this was us!

As our lift was recently out of use, alternative arrangements were made for the small number of residents that were affected, with meals and activities being held in the lounge upstairs, and 1:1 activity sessions held in their rooms. Most recently, all of our residents enjoyed taking part in our 'Going for Gold' Winter Olympics event. Families were also kept updated as well as additional risk assessments and fire drills completed to ensure the safety of our residents.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time. We proactively pursued the lift company whilst the lift was out of action and engineers visited the home on multiple occasions throughout December, January and February; however, due to a shortage of parts available, there was a significant delay with this being repaired.
We can now confirm that the lift has been fully repaired.

The staff are always friendly, helpful and caring. The atmosphere is not one of a care home it is more like someone's large house. The food is lovely. The laundry is a little iffy sometimes towels are removed and not replaced and loo roll has been absent!
