I have been a resident in Ivybank for 5-months and am being extremely well cared for. I came here because I was no longer able to live alone (my husband is in a care home, but not this one). Until I am completely fit again, I shall continue to stay here where I am happy.

On a positive note - The staff here are all mostly very kind, caring and friendly. - I appreciate the difficult job that they do and carry out in sometimes very difficult and challenging conditions and circumstances.
On a negative note: I am alarmed at the length of time the lift has been broken - since before Christmas - 52 days ago - and counting!
My father in law is in an upstairs room in a wheelchair and is now unable to access the ground floor. This is totally unacceptable. He now hardly leaves his room. It has and continues to have a detrimental effect on his mental and physical health and well-being. It is just terrible!
He can not eat in the dining room. He can not join in with any of the activities that he used to love in the lounge area downstairs. He can no longer socialise. Most of the time - day and night is now spent in his room.

How awful would we feel if this was us!

Thank you for your kind comments about our team. We appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback for Ivybank House Care Home.

As our lift was recently out of use, alternative arrangements were made for the small number of residents that were affected, with meals and activities being held in...

The staff are always friendly, helpful and caring. The atmosphere is not one of a care home it is more like someone's large house. The food is lovely. The laundry is a little iffy sometimes towels are removed and not replaced and loo roll has been absent!

It is with admiration and gratitude I congratulate Ivybank's manager and the entire staff team on keeping the home virtually covid free throughout the past year and a half. Despite the extra work, this coronavirus has caused I have appreciated the manager's regular updates on what whole situation and have been very grateful to the senior staff for keeping me informed of any matters relating to my sister's health. The manager and her senior team are very caring, competent and approachable and respond to any matters raised quickly and with understanding when and wherever possible. My sister is totally dependent on the staff, she is non-ambulant and needs two staff and the hoist to move her for her every need. she gets extremely frustrated with not being able to do anything for herself and as such is not the easiest person to care for, but the main staff meet her needs with patience and understanding. Ivybank has a wonderful activities and entertainments programme provided by the dedicated coordinator and her team. During this pandemic, they have been as busy as ever. I have been amazed by the variety of themes and ideas which they have entertained and simulated the residents for those that wish to take part.

All the staff have been extremely helpful and kind, especially in these trying times when Covid rules seem to change on a regular basis. Covid measures and monitoring of visits are extremely well run. Mum tells me the food is really nice.

I cannot recommend Ivybank highly enough. Mum has been at Ivybank for more than 3 years and has received excellent care throughout. From the dedicated and diligent care team to the excellent kitchen staff producing restaurant quality food. From the activities department delivering imaginative and varied entertainment, quizzes and trips out, to the meticulous maintenance and grounds team maintaining the beautiful house and stunning gardens. Residents are treated as individuals at all times and treated with patience, empathy and good humour. I can't thank the staff enough for what they have achieved with Mum - her beaming smile in so many Ivybank photos is a testament to how well she is cared for and how happy Mum is on a day to day basis. Ivybank particularly impressed during the pandemic - keeping the home covid free and communicating very regularly with families.

Mum has been a resident here for many years. Her care and the kindness shown to her is second to none. There have been several staff changes but never changing the compassion and care to the residents. The home is well run and nothing is too much trouble if requested staff always listen and try to help. We are always kept well informed of any changes in mum or if any events are happening in the home. The staff are friendly and we feel at ease with them. The manager is most helpful and we can talk with her about mum and know that anything we request will be dealt with if possible. I can't thank Ivybank enough for the wonderful care given to mum and the way as a family we are always made welcome so nice to know mum is happy.

My mother has been at IVybank since November 2019. The staff have always been friendly and have seen to all her needs. Covid hit, I had great peace of mind knowing mum is well looked after. The activities are brilliant and the staff work hard to include everyone. My mother loves to knit and sew and they have encouraged her to keep up these activities. It says a lot when you think they have kept everyone safe and Covid free.

The home is clean and friendly. Manager is very good, there have been two incidents regarding medication errors, now two safeguardings reported since resident has been at Ivybank House, in for six weeks rehabilitation, not a lot of that going on!

Mobility very poor, needs care staff to encourage a lot more walking with a member of the care team. Lost a lot of confidence since hip fracture.

Thank you for your review. Our Magic Moments Club aims to help our residents to love every day and is varied to provide interesting activities for mind, body and soul. Understandably, not every resident wants to participate. We will encourage participation, but respect resident’s wishes if they do...

Mum arrived having been seriously ill in the hospital. Since arrival, she has been treated with a professional, holistic team who made sure all her needs were met with a genuine sense of pride in their care. Mum is the happiest I have seen her for some time. She is really enjoying and participating in all the varied activities. She is relaxed and has told me nothing is too much trouble for the staff when looking after me. As her daughter, I feel very confident that Mum is receiving excellent care.

My mum was discharged from the hospital to Ivybank four weeks ago. The staff have been so friendly in settling her in, so much so, Mum this she is in a hotel and would like to stay here permanently. She is engaging in activities, something she wasn't confident to do previously and has been shown such kindness and care whilst allowing Mum to protect her dignity. Thank you for all you do in helping Mum to adjust to the nest stage in life.
