My mother was a resident for seven years. In all that time she was treated with respect and dignity, especially in the last few months before she died. The staff were amazing, caring, kind and considerate. They could not have done more and all the family are very grateful.

Mum has been in Ivybank for 18-months, and the standard of care and attention has been excellent. For the last couple of weeks, she has been very poorly, and everyone has taken wonderful care of her. They have treated her with dignity, and she has wanted for nothing.

Overall Experience

My grandmother-in-law is a relatively new resident but from our visit to the home before she came from hospital I was completely blown away. This was the place for her and thankfully she was able to come. Visits to her since have seen her out of her room and included in the activities. She has been made to feel very welcome and the staff, especially the activities lady, have been so supportive and friendly. My grandmother-in-law I know is extremely well looked after and she is happy and very grateful. The manager is extremely helpful and supportive, sorting out any concerns regarding the transfer from hospital to home. Amazing place.

My mother has been in this care home for six years and is 100 years old. The care and support are very good and most carers show much kindness. Unfortunately, there have been many changes of management and some standards have fallen.

Management do not listen to residents enough or act upon ideas for the home, for example, improvement of quality of food, suitability of furniture.

My friend has been a resident for a couple of years since her husband passed away. She is happy and content with being here at home in Ivybank. All the staff are wonderful with her especially as her eyesight is poor and so is her hearing, however, all staff are very patient and understanding of her needs.

My father has been here for several years now and has only received excellent care.
He is very happy.
He hasn't been the easiest person to care for but the staff have dealt with him with nothing less than pure professionalism.

Thank you.

Mum came to Ivybank in December 2017 and was there for a year. During this time whilst her health failed her, she could not have been in a better place. The carers are a homes most important asset. Attitude and manner are what matter most in relationships where your dignity and independence are compromised. Ivybank have a wonderful army of staff. They have joked and laughed and cried with mum, and done so with respect and empathy. She definitely felt part of a whole new community in her last year. It was a move she was dreading but which was necessary and was made so much easier by the caring nature of all the staff. Any problems that arose were dealt with in a very professional manner and we her family felt able to address them with staff. It has a ‘home like’ feel, miles away from a clinical starchy nursing home. I would recommend it in a heartbeat.

Sadly my mother came here very unwell following the closing down of her previous home. The care given in her last week was just amazing and end of life at its very best. (I am a retired SRN former night sister). Thank you so very much from a loving family of a very special mum.
