A very friendly care home, small , good food,; carers go out of their way to take my aunty to shops/garden centre for occasional outings. All staff are friendly and approachable. Very relaxed atmosphere.
The whole place is clean and designed to support her needs - she has poor vision and mobility.
In particular, the staff are very caring and respectful, often going the extra mile to make sure she is happy. Communication is good - when she has a problem or query it is dealt with quickly and in a straightforward way.
I am so relieved that she is here.
The sense of community that staff build and maintain on a daily basis gives my mum so much confidence. She regularly tells us, unasked, "Don't worry about me. I'm definitely in the right place." Thankyou all.
Excellent individualised care continues in this friendly well organised home.
Avenue House is a caring, compassionate residential care home which provides an environment where all residents and their visitors are valued and respected. My mum couldn't be cared for better and the communication with myself is excellent.
My Dad moved into Avenue House six months ago. He enjoys the varied activities programme. The staff are very kind and the atmosphere in the home is generally relaxed. The staff really get to know the residents. He enjoys eating his meals with other people and taking part in the activities, but also enjoys time on his own in his room. It is a great relief to me and my brother that he is being looked after so well.
My mother was a resident at Avenue House for 6 years. During that time she received excellent care from all the staff who are very friendly and who always treated her with kindness and respect. Sadly my mum's condition deteriorated recently and she needed end of life care. I cannot praise the staff enough for the excellent care she (and I ) received during this sad and difficult time. Avenue House staff really take the time to get to know all the residents and I always felt she was safe and well cared for in her final "home".
My mother has received only high quality care with regular check ins with the family, looking after the regime of medicines, eye tests etc and also dealing with all the occasional exceptional stuff - my mum has had two falls over the two years she has been at Avenue House both of which were managed highly professionally. The building, facilities and gardens are all good. Residents have regular entertainments and a varied menu. Avenue House is also exceptionally affordable. Its also great that the place has a Quaker ethos - my mother is a Quaker and the Sunday Meeting for Worship is an important part of her week.
There has been fantastic continuity in the staff at the home along with a strong caring ethos.
My mother has settled in extremely well. The staff are caring, respectful and responsive to her and me. There is a nice atmosphere in the home even though some of the residents can occasionally demonstrate challenging behaviour. Mum is pleased she has moved into this care home
This is a wonderful care home where the staff are always kind and caring. Activities are varied and enjoyable, the kitchen prepares tasty food and it is a happy place with excellent communication for residents and families.
They have helped her through the changing years with skill and commitment and she is still very much part of the community, participating in activities and enjoying visits from family and friends who are always made very welcome. As a relative, I work with the staff to support my mother, and they are open to suggestions that might help. A good partnership.
He likes his food and is always looking forward to meal times as the food is so good.
I would highly recommend Avenue house.
Avenue House is exceptional - a special home for my sister - a home is a place to feel comfortable, safe and cared for - a place you are happy to be. Everyone at Avenue House, staff and residents, work together to enable happiness for one and all.
Since Mum has been at Avenue House she has been rejuvenated. The surroundings, staff, activities and care are top-notch and Mum enjoys great quality of life, which didn't seem possible a year ago.
Avenue House does its utmost to make every resident feel at home. The staff are bright and cheerful. The surroundings are bright and comfortable.
She receives compassionate, upbeat and kind care from the Avenue House team.
A quality service, for which we are all very grateful.
Just attended a Christmas wine and cheese gathering for residents and family. Great event and typical of the care and attention provided by the staff of Avenue House.
Mum has made friends at Avenue House - both of the residents and carers. Carriers are genuinely pleased to see mum and care for her. The new Conservatory space has enabled more quiet spaces 2 gather and chat especially for relatives visiting residents. Residents are caring towards each other to.
Avenue House is a wonderful and caring home. My mother has been a resident for just over a year and during this time we have experienced a big improvement to her mental health. The staff are marvellous and the daily activity list on offer is varied and fun. My Mum loves living at Avenue House and as a family member, it is so reassuring that she gets excellent care and attention. The management are friendly and approachable and I would highly recommend Avenue House to anyone looking for a safe and welcoming residential home for a loved one.
