The staff are caring, respectful and polite.
The home is clean, friendly and has a lovely atmosphere.
Very good - I'm very pleased to be here.
The staff are amazing, each one knows my father very well and treat him with great kindness and all have time for his friends and family too, which allows me to have trust and confidence in their responsibility of caring for my father. I can't rate Avenue House highly enough.
The overall standard of this care home overall is excellent, my room is ideal for me and is cleaned and hoovered most days. The staff are very friendly and always treat the residents with respect. The management do their very best to accommodate the residents, arranging outings. We have a wish tree where we can fill in the leaves with our wishes. My wish was to climb Crook Peak which was granted! The food is also very good with multiple choices. I have been here for just over a year and I soon was made to feel at home!
My father lived for 3 years at Avenue House and it truly became his home. He was very well looked after. He was 93. This Christmas he grew frailer and my brother and I sat with him for his final days as he slipped peacefully away. The loving care shown to him and to us was beyond compare. We will always be grateful.
I was looking for a home with a good quality of care in a Quaker or similar caring culture. I looked for a happy, caring atmosphere offering respect and good opportunities for the staff and providing the highest possible standard of care to residents, where residents would be also expected to contribute within the limits of ability providing a good range of recreational activities and all this within my very limited budget.
My mother is very settled and happy at Avenue House. All staff I have come into contact with have been incredibly friendly, kind and patient. There is a warm, friendly atmosphere here and I am very happy with the care provided. Thank you to all staff.
After 3 years I am very glad to be here and find that Avenue House is very satisfactory; clean, efficient and very kind to the residents. Only 8/10 for vegetarian food, but steadily improving. Visitors are welcomed and any criticisms quickly dealt with.
My mother has been at Avenue House for eight years and has made a safe home here. The staff are intelligent, caring, compassionate and humorous. The vegetarian meals are varied and nourishing. Some structured facilities are not as modern as some, e.g. disabled access in the garden, but the house is always clean, bright and very well maintained. I have recommended the home to several families and two have moved in. The charitable ethos underpins the culture and atmosphere.
Very high standard of care. An enjoyable atmosphere.
I am extremely pleased with all aspects of care at Avenue House, my only concern is laundry as my father has had many pure wool cardigans ruined, hence the new linen bin in his room, where his cardigans are now being placed, so the family can wash them. I seem to buy endless packs of socks as he always has odd ones in his drawer, despite them all being labelled individually. Apart from the laundry aspect, his room, care, entertainment and food is all excellent! The staff are extremely friendly and always make you feel welcome with a little chat or a cup of tea and nothing is ever too much trouble for them.
Simply an excellent care home.
I have known Avenue House since 1995 when I joined the society of friends (Quakers) in Bristol and have been an active volunteer and visitor for 15 years. Avenue House is a friendly, welcoming home, always spotlessly clean and fresh. It feels more like a small hotel or family community. I have friends who are residents who are very settled and happy here and I would be happy to (and have) recommend it as a resource.
When my time comes, I would be very happy to be a resident here. I know of several professionals who visit who say the same.
This is a very friendly and caring residential home. My mum settled in very quickly and is very happy here.
