My father has been a resident at Stokeleigh since January 2026, and I can't thank the staff enough for the care they have given him. Moving him into a care home was tricky as his Alzheimer's had made him quite argumentative and resistant to help. However, within a month, he was calm, settled and content. I realised I hadn't seen him looking that happy in years. The staff are kind, patient and genuinely caring, and have taken the time to get to know him as an individual. As a regular visitor, I've also got to know many of the team, who are always so friendly and welcoming. I can visit my dad whenever I want and always feel welcome. The home is bright, clean and fresh, with activities twice a day that my dad enjoys, plus a beautiful garden. Knowing he is safe, happy and well cared for has given our whole family enormous peace of mind.

My Mum stayed at Stokeleigh for respite care for a fortnight. All the staff were very professional, very friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was very relaxed and it was obvious that the staff treated their residents with respect and were part of a family not paying guests. I would not hesitate using Stokeleigh again.

Stokeleigh was the fourth home I visited and I liked it straight away. It has a friendly and positive attitude. My dad has settled well and all his needs are being met. The staff are lovely and always available to tell me how dad is and if he needs anything. I like that there is a regular hairdresser and podiatrist available and a variety of daily activities. The management team are very approachable and easily contacted. Having my dad settled and well cared for has given me peace of mind.

Stokeleigh staff are excellent and meet Mum's needs as things change ie, help her to eat now because she needs assistance. The handyman is quick to help if we have any problems! For example, today mended the window in Mum's room as it was sticking. A shame that the manager is leaving, he's been very supportive of the family throughout the five years Mum has been a resident. He will sadly missed when he leaves.

Putting family into care is a very hard decision which took me way too long to commit to but given the support from Hartford Care this helped my mum and me to make the right decision.
Caring for my mum was taking its toll on both my mum and myself. Hartford Care couldn't have been more supportive allowing me to visit numerous times with and without my mum. The support I received in making this decision was second to none and I didn't feel like I was letting my mum down, more like getting her the support she needed to be as independent as possible.

I can say that the experience has been hard but ultimately the right decision and that my mum is enjoying being part of the Stokeleigh community. Having early onset dementia she does complain about the activities however I do know that the activities are brilliant. The team at Hartford Care have been helping my mum to be more engaged and joining in with more activities.

I am so impressed with the range of daily activities provided at Stokeleigh, which engages all the residents. They range from table games, floristry, gardening, dancing, singing and music making. Visited to see my brother and discuss ongoing care plan with the manager. All good and my brother's condition seems stable now. It is comforting to know that he is in safe hands, and making the most of his remaining years in comfort, with good companionship from fellow patients and staff. With so much bad press about some care homes in the news these days, our careful and considered choice of Stokeleigh is paying dividends now in peace of mind. Well done to all the staff.

Coming into Stokeleigh, I always feel an atmosphere of love and welcome from all the staff. I really value the open door policy and easy access to liaise with the manager and head of care or other staff. There is a real feeling of a team. Journeying with my mother in her dementia isn't always easy and it's so helpful to be able to share that journey with staff and co-create the best possible plan for her. Thank you to all of you in Stokeleigh. It would be nice if the home had its own minivan for trips rather than sharing it.

My brother-in-law has been in Stokeleigh for over six months now, and he is remarkably settled and at ease in his light, sunny room. He is young to have Alzheimer's at 64, but the home copes with his needs well. Always a friendly welcome when we visit, and it is clear how much the caring staff warm to their residents. Lovely, friendly atmosphere at lunchtime, well-prepared delicious hot meals and lots of encouragement to my brother-in-law. Thank you to the manager and staff.
