Cleeve Lodge Residential Care Home

Visited Cleeve lodge Care Home (Downend) to celebrate great aunt's 103rd birthday. Staff were very friendly, accomodating and attentive. Private room made available for family celebration and decorated with birthday balloons and a banner. All our needs were met & catered for. The home is welcoming, clean and well run. Our aunt is very happy there and we are too.

Cleeve care home has been excellent since my mother became a resident in September 2025. I had a great feeling about the care home from the moment I first visited. I was greeted nicely & immediately show around the care home. Everything was in place and the residents seemed very happy. My mother then became a resident. The staff have been amazing, really caring and have been like family to my mother. Nothing seems to be too much trouble, if I ask for anything at the office it is done and if they have any concerns they talk to me about it and offer plenty of options. I can't praise the care home enough for how they have looked after my mother. By looking after my mother so well, it has taken a lot of stress off of me. Well done all and a big thank you.

The staff are very caring and do everything they can to make residents feel safe and happy. The housekeeping team keep the rooms clean and tidy. The laundry team take great care with people's clothes. Everyone is friendly and do their very best to make the place feel homely.

There is always something happening but Mum chooses to stay in her room. The staff encourage her to join in but she has never been sociable. Mum is happy here and I know she is safe and looked after.

Mum moved into Cleeve Lodge three months ago and in this time I can see that she is more herself again. She settled in well due to the lovely caring staff and she has made new friends. You are welcomed to spend quality time with your loved ones. It has given me great peace knowing she is well cared for 24/7.

The place is so clean & staff are very kind & welcoming. The food is good & wholesome & a very good variety

My mother received fantastically supportive care over the last 2 years of her life. Despite her being unwilling to leave her room the staff did all they could to meet her mental + physical needs. They worked tirelessly to engage with her. I could not have asked for better end of life care. Her final 2 weeks were compassionate + dignified. Her comfort was their biggest priority This is truly a caring + loving environment. Residents are all part of an amazing family, care is expensive, but so very worth it.

My dad spent the last 6 weeks of his life at Cleeve Lodge. I would like to thank the staff and in particular the manager who always made us feel welcome as a family when we would visit Dad/Grandad. She was great at keeping us up to date and was always easy to communicate with. Dads room was lovely and airy and the front living room was a lovely space with sunlight and a homely feel. I was relieved my dad was safe and well cared for. Thankyou. X

Mum stayed with you following discharge from hospital, for approx 3 weeks. Staff were so kind and accommodating and mum felt the food was very good. Mum did't join in very much, she likes her own company, so can't really comment on them.

Cleeve, it's very homely and clean, and most staff are kind and caring, but mum knows the ones that are not, and I have noticed too. My mum has had Rheumatoid Arthritis since she was 46. Mum gets anxious and has had pain in her life for a long time. Nights can be a problem for her, she gets confused. Night staff are not very caring or kind. These staff work the day too, and I've noticed there care! Mum has been in Cleeve since May. She had a stroke. Since mum has been in Cleeve, she has had 4 falls, 2 of her own doing. Each time one happens, I notice a bit of my mum disappear! And I wonder what will happen the next time, it's these staff that let the home down, sorry to the kind and caring ones.

My experience of Cleeve Lodge Residential Care Home - A warm friendly welcome to residents and family. With excellent professional staff giving plenty of things for residents to do like going out for coffee to quizzes to having a singer coming in to entertain also bingo, in a clean environment. Giving my brother and myself peice of mind.

Staff were very kind & caring made me feel at home and couldn't do enough for me, and it was lovely to meet other residents.

The staff at Cleeve Lodge look after Mum and treat her with kindness and dignity. I can rest, knowing she is safe and looked after. Mum enjoys the activities put on by the care home and particularly enjoys the trips out.

Mum moved into Cleeve Lodge approximately in March after living independently for almost 91 years. As mum's daughter, she would bed me not to ever put her in a home. Unfortunately, things don't go as planned and mum's mobility was failing which in turn meant she had frequent falls and was sustaining some awful injuries. Mum never ever wanted to go into a care home and would plead me to keep her in her home. Sadly this wasn't possible so we were lucky to get a lovely room in Cleeve Lodge. It has been the making of mum and she has never looked back. Her confidence is so much better and she is able to go up and down in the lift to her room, independently as many times as she wishes. She has made lots of friends, this being a major problem for mum when she lived only - desperate to see people. My honest review of Cleeve Lodge is one of a home full of angels, cannot fault the staff in any way. and they will do anything without making any fuss and it is done quickly. Also, the doctor is called so quickly should there be any concerns, however trivial it may seem. Mum has said that this is her home now and she won't ever go back to her former home. I believe this speaks for itself - excellent.

Mum is very happy here - the staff are lovely and take great care of her - she was very reluctant to go into a care home but she loved it here and wouldn't want to go home. I have offered to take her 'home' but she simply isn't interested.

Just superb care, care support, and love for Mum with her developing condition. Outstanding in every single aspect/way for Mum - staff are just the best in the care sector. Outstanding, support, facilities, cleanliness, activities and professionalism by staff. Their love and care for Mum is absolute. Just the best there is. Thank you, Cleeve Lodge.

Since the passing of my sister the staff at the care home have been very helpful and understanding, with problems that arise, concerning my brother-in-law. They are always here for me when needed.
