Mum has now been with Manor Cottage for just over 3 years, she classes this as her home and can tell she is happy there. The staff are amazing with her, very kind and supportive. Her Alzheimer's has got worse lately but the care she receives is great. The staff are very informative of any needs that
mum may require, with a quick reassuring call or word when we go into see mum. Thanks for making mum happy.

As my mother becomes increasingly confused, the staff are caring for her kindly and with compassion while keeping her safe and comfortable. They have also been sympathetic to family members when visiting and in need of a cup of tea and some support.

The staff at Green Willow, from managers to carers, kitchen staff and cleaners, all work hard and usually with a smile.
The home therefore has a good atmosphere and my Dad has settled well.
The environment is attractive with 2 lounges and lovely gardens wrapped around the building.
There are obviously
challenges with providing care to residents with different needs, both physical and mental, and the team appear to try hard to provide individualised care.
Visitors, both family and friends, are welcomed and can join in activities as they wish.
There is an excellent alarm system which detects if a resident is on the floor in their room.
Residents can have their own landline phone and wi-fi appears to be adequate
My only issues are with the call bell system, with bells ringing frequently. As a visitor, I find this challenging, but Dad is deaf and with his room door closed, it does not distress him.
I do not know a solution to this - care staff are busy with other residents
Reply from Amy-Louise Lee, Registered Manager at Green Willow Residential Home

Thank you for your review, we love that Dad keeps us all on our toes with his daily wordle and sudoku! We appreciate at times the call bell system can appear to ring more frequently at certain times of the day, every bedroom, bathroom, lounge, fire door and our front door are all linked to the system so even when the bells are answered, if support is requested in succession it can seem continuous despite it being different individuals seeking support from the team.

Our mother has lived at Green Willow for a few years. Despite her frailties and disabilities she has become part of the community which is Green Willow. Every member of the team makes it their mission to look after every aspect of care. The team understands the needs and foibles of each resident, and
they adapt to and respect their individuality. Communications between family members with Green Willow are excellent which is reassuring and appreciated especially by those who are not nearby.

My husband came initially for 2 weeks respite after spending 5 weeks in Worthing Hospital, he was still poorly so we made the decision to get respite which went well, so well in fact that he became a permanent resident. He has slowly made improvement. He is well looked after and the staff take the greatest
care of him. He likes the food and I am welcomed whatever time I turn up (which helps me). He goes out on bus trips and joins in activities although also quite happy in his own room with a view of the pretty garden.

My Mum has been living at Manor Cottage for a year now. She took her time to settle in, and she now very much sees Manor Cottage as her home. She is well-cared for, the staff are always friendly and helpful, and it is incredibly reassuring to know that she is safe and being looked after. The best part,
apart from getting to see her and taking her out from time to time, is how happy she looks during many of the activities. I think the exercise sessions are her favourite, although the look of delight on her face when she recently handled a python does make me wonder why we didn't have more exotic pets when we were growing up!
It was far from an easy decision to move Mum into a home. Manor Cottage made it very easy, and the last year has proved that it was an excellent choice.

My mother has been a resident at Manor Cottage for around 3 months, and they really look after her. She was struggling at home (she's 92) and she seems much better for their care.
They have a hairdresser that visits, plus she loves having her nails done
It's also a load off of the family's minds knowing
that she not on her own
We're really glad that we chose Manor Cottage

We were initially really worried about Mum going into residential care. At 90 years old, and having lived with us as part of our family for the last decade on our smallholding, we knew this would be a very hard move for us all. Mum had grown up on a farm and lived in the countryside all of her life
but we could no longer cope with the lack of mobility that Mum was faced with and her inability to move without significant equipment and the support of two carers. Mum was with Westbourne for 5 months, and whilst her decline was sad to see due to many illnesses including blood cancer, we could never fault the care or compassion shown by the staff at Westbourne - it was first class. During the last couple of weeks, when Mum was moved to end of life, the support was outstanding and the staff made what was an incredibly hard time far easier to deal with due to their kindness, attention and dignity. I will never forget the commitment and love shown by the staff to Mum.

Finding a care home for my 97 year old sister near her own home was not an easy task but the standards and ratings shown on the internet were excellent and it was a great location. The cosy and homely feel to the place was welcoming and the staff were so helpful and caring. I really felt that my sister
could not have been in better hands and I was impressed by the communication between the staff. When I phoned to make enquiries, the person I spoke to knew all about my sister and didn't need to waste time going to find out - just like a family. I would definitely recommend this home (and that's what it was) to anyone wanting somewhere for a relative to be cared for in a sensitive and respectful way.

As a daughter living a long distance away from my mother, it's a relief to know Mum is well cared for and feeling safe. It was a tricky transition to move after living independently, but staff at Green Willow were alongside her all the way, helping her to adapt and settle in. The staff are well-trained,
professional, with knowledge, skills and experience. Mum is treated kindly, with dignity and respect and given choice. She has privacy, yet offered opportunities to join in socially or take part in activities if she wants to. She's supported to participate in entertainment, yet no pressure if she wants to take time out and rest. I'm welcome at Green Willow. All staff (including Chef) are cheerful, friendly and happy in their jobs. It's a relaxed, informal 'homely' atmosphere. Living at a distance, I'm impressed by the open communication and information-sharing at Green Willow. It keeps me well-informed and it's very reassuring to feel involved in Mum's care (albeit from a distance).

Mum moved into Cleeve Lodge approximately in March after living independently for almost 91 years. As mum's daughter, she would bed me not to ever put her in a home. Unfortunately, things don't go as planned and mum's mobility was failing which in turn meant she had frequent falls and was sustaining
some awful injuries. Mum never ever wanted to go into a care home and would plead me to keep her in her home. Sadly this wasn't possible so we were lucky to get a lovely room in Cleeve Lodge. It has been the making of mum and she has never looked back. Her confidence is so much better and she is able to go up and down in the lift to her room, independently as many times as she wishes. She has made lots of friends, this being a major problem for mum when she lived only - desperate to see people. My honest review of Cleeve Lodge is one of a home full of angels, cannot fault the staff in any way. and they will do anything without making any fuss and it is done quickly. Also, the doctor is called so quickly should there be any concerns, however trivial it may seem. Mum has said that this is her home now and she won't ever go back to her former home. I believe this speaks for itself - excellent.
